This store has beautiful things. Although the truth is the women who run it are very rude and pompous. I actually do not want to support a company that treats others that way. Just because you work at a store with«spirit» in the name doesn’t mean you are better than anyone or even truly spiritual yourself. They also do not give discounts for items that have wear and tear. They just want to make as much profit as possible.

I want to begin by saying this store is beautiful and has fantastic items. My daughter and I visited on a recent Saturday afternoon. When we first entered the store, I found a lovely scarf that was originally $ 16, marked down to $ 10. I picked up the scarf and asked if I could leave it on the counter while we continued to look around the store. My daughter picked out a tapestry($ 45) and I found a yoga sweatshirt($ 41). We approached the counter, there was the owner and an employee(I presume). The owner began to ring up my items, she noticed the scarf was marked down to $ 10 and said that it was an error, and then said the employee I must have switched the tags. The employee said, she saw me pick up the scarf and I didn’t switch tags and that they needed to honor the price on the tag. The owner said the scarf was $ 36 and she would not sell it to me for the price on the tag. I was shocked, the employee was extremely embarrassed and again pleaded to the owner to sell me the scarf, the owner refused. I told the owner that after 1. being accused of switching tags and 2. not honoring the price that I not be purchasing the other $ 86 in merchandise I had in my hands. I was terribly disappointed about my experience in this shop. Buyers beware!

Not only do I feel good every time I spend time inside this store, Janah’s prices seem incredibly fair and honest. And the women who work there are friendly and wonderful. Turiya Hill

Zak Bagan the host of Ghost Adventures was in this store not to long ago when he was doing a lock down at The National Hotel. I spoke to one of the workers on the telephone and told me that the store has gotten many callers since Zak was there especially about the spirit houses.

Please note that until Unilocal updates the business info, as of January 17th the new location is 320 Broad Street. I did not see the old location, but the new one is gorgeous. Great use of color and presentation inside the shop. This is an import shop that specializes in Indonesian, Thai, Bali, Myanmar and Vietnamese handicrafts, home goods, jewelry and clothing. The young woman working the counter on Monday told me that the owner, Janah Campbell, goes on an average of two buying trips a year to stock the store. They have many unusual items, and my wife went gaga over their supply of handmade clothing. Some very beautiful, exotic and distinct women’s tops. The jewelry and particularly the traditional silver collection is also worth looking at. They had a nice selection of spirit houses, hence the name of the shop. A spirit house is essentially a dollhouse house replica for miscellaneous spirits to roost in, so they aren’t forced to amble aimlessly through *your* house and cause mischief or break stuff. I wasn’t sure while in the shop that all the spirits had discovered the spirit house, because there was a slightly unsettled psychic quality to the space. Perhaps because it was opening day.
