They are closed and did not even tell people who had Mother’s Day reservations. Out of Business.

I have eaten here several times. The service is really good and everyone is very friendly but the food is just ok and beer is expensive. I wanted to make this my regular place but i became bored of the menu pretty quickly. They need a more diverse menu and different weekly specials

Great atmosphere and furnishings inside. Bar is well stocked and service is usually good for the couple of times that I have been there. Pricing is my only downfall. Pizzas are good but some of the food items are pricey for the amount of food that you get.

BEAWARE if you eat a VEGAN diet. Went here Friday, January 23, 2015. I ordered their Vegan Paella. Had 2 bites and realized quickly that it was NOT vegan. The broth was pork broth with shreds of pork. Absolutely unacceptable! I do not believe this was an error. This is either cost cutting or just not caring about what you give your customers. They apologized and offered to make something else but at that point I lost complete trust and confidence. Will not be back.

If you cannot cook a burger(lunch menu) medium, then work at Wendy’s. Added bonus: WEWERETHEONLYPEOPLETHERE, so the kitchen wasn’t stressed. This was our 2nd time here, brunch blows too.(you have to buy an entrée to get access to freezer food and overcooked eggs)

The hummus appetizer is full of fresh vegetables, broccoli carrots, celery, red peppers and the best cucumbers! The hummus is delicious. The twin filets … Thank goodness there are two! Perfectly grilled and mouth watering, paired with red skinned mashed potatoes that were excellent. We asked for broccoli and it was buttery, flavorful and cooked with a nice bit of crunch, not soggy. Fabulous meal all the way around!

Excellent burger, baker’s chips were yummy… $ 30 for 2 burgers is too high, even for New Albany.

This was our first time dining at plate, we started with the hummus plate which stated that it came with raw and marinated vegetables. The only marinated vegetable was 2 pieces of blanched asparagus, the carrot sticks we boughten precut and were starting to curl and had that white dried out look. My partner ordered the Mediterranean salad which was good. I ordered the vegetable lasagna which the stated noodles layered with low fat cream sauce 8 garden vegetables and 4 italian cheeses. The plate came out with a piece of noodle cut 2×2 not a single vegetable, a piece of cheese then another noodle. It was about 1⁄8 inch thick total. The whole thing was swimming in a lot of the three sauces. Plus half of the piece of the bottom noodle was so hard I could not cut it with a knife. I had to pick it up and chew on it. Very sad.

Had just a perfect meal here tonight. As many have mentioned, the hummus plate is an excellent starter-the veggies are fresh and of the best quality, and the crisp bread was wonderful. Had bread with their olive oil/balsamic vinegar, and could have made a meal of that with my glass of Gerard Bertrand Pinot noir. Dinner was meat and tomato lasagna-tons of meat, wonderfully light and rich ricotta and fabulous sauces. Tasted fresh with just the right amount of Italian spices. Truly some of the best lasagna I’ve ever had. Service was good-attentive waitress, although not always patient when waiting for is to think whether we wanted an appetizer(ended up ordering with dinner, but it was. brought out with plenty of time to enjoy before the entrees) or whether we wanted dessert. Felt rushed by her, but everything else was perfect, including the bartender who helped my husband find a craft beer he liked, and on a previous visit helped me identify the wine I love. Great restaurant! Keep up the good work!

Service gets better each time we go; food is consistently good. Some changes to brunch: they don’t do the add-ons anymore, or rather, they aren’t included in the price. Brunch spread is $ 11.95, and there is a very small menu of additional items(french toast, benedict, etc.,) for an additional charge. Makes a little more sense than the previous way they did things, and I’m sure it’s easier for the restaurant. This time we just got the brunch buffet. It is better organized and kept up than before. Most items were the same, though they had roast pork instead of brisket today. One of the reasons we come here(aside from it being handy and good) is that it is not very busy on a Sunday. So many places are packed for Sunday brunch/lunch. I don’t understand why this one isn’t, but I’m glad we can get in and out so easily.

Tried it with the fam, which is my wife and two daughters. My one year old slept the whole time, which was nice, because the service was pretty slow for a moderately busy Saturday afternoon. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, which was pretty tasty. The bread was fried like a grilled cheese sandwich, and the chicken salad was on the savory side and very good. Served with their sandwiches are fresh fried kettle chips, which I enjoyed. My wife ordered the burger, which was a pretty standard burger. The bun was interesting, very chewy. My daughter ordered the buttered noddles with meatballs, which came to a hefty 9 dollars. I was probably confused, because while they had a kids menu, they didn’t have any printed. I thought the lady said the noodles came with meatballs, but when we ordered the noodles with meatballs on the side, I think they gave us noodles and a side of meatballs. I wasn’t in the mood to argue because we had been there way too long. In any event, not sure I’d be back. We loved this place way back when it was Landon’s Corner, but the things we liked — friendly fast service, great drink specials, and lots of appetizers, don’t seem to exist any more.

We finally had a night out to try Plate, and I am so glad we did. We only waited ten minutes for a table… but being local we loved that they were busy. We decided against appetizers because we were headed to a movie after dinner and wanted to leave room for candy! The bread that was brought out was amazing. It had roasted baby tomatoes on it with oil and balsamic dipping sauce… I could have eaten 3 baskets. We each had a glass of wine and they were very reasonably priced… and the list was decent. Our dinners were delicious and different from anything we’ve every had before. The atmosphere was nice but casual and relaxed. I really think this it’s a place we’ll come back to!

We went to Plate for the first time tonight and it was GREAT! I had the daily special which was a shrimp dish with mushroom and truffle risotto and it was fantastic! Service was great too, We sat on the patio which was really nice but we were the only ones out there, so we were afraid we’d be forgotten but this didn’t happen at all. Definitely planning a return trip and can’t believe I waited this long to try it.

Plate has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We love their philosophy of «healthy local foods, featuring fruits and vegetables, and Ohio raised meats grown free of antibiotics, hormones, and steroids on the pastures surrounding Columbus.» We’ve tried nearly all of the menu items and have yet to find one that wasn’t fantastic. Service is always top notch, even when they’re crazy busy. The décor is cool… kind of rustic, but not in a bad way. Casual, for sure, but cozy, too. The music is great! Lots of classic jazzy type stuff… very background, which is awesome. If you haven’t tried Plate, you need to.

My dozen trips to Plate have been a mixed bag of results. Each trip was like an entirely different restaurant. One day the service is OK, but the food is underwhelming. The next trip it is just the opposite. Unfortunately there are few options in NewA, so I find myself going back. If there were more options, I probably wouldn’t go back nearly as often. The food has improved since the opening, but it is still middle of the road. The pizza is the winner in the menu. The rest of the offerings are a strange mish-mash of entrees that don’t really have a consistent theme. The service reached a plateau very early on. The staff seems to have a few favorite customers and likes to overcompensate with attention, often at the expense of other customers. It doesn’t matter how much you tip, it’s tough to change their ways. Parking is difficult, especially in the winter. If you can’t park, chances are you’ll move on. This was brought to the attention of the management and was met with apathy. It will be interesting to see what happens when several new restaurants open in NewA between 2014 and 2015.

A great new addition to the New Albany area. I have yet to have a bad experience at Plate in all of my visits! The food is delicious and I can actually eat a full vegan meal at a restaurant… no mean feat! Owner and staff are great too! I highly recommend Plate in New Albany, OH!

First off, I rarely give a restaurant 5 stars, but I fail to find any fault with my meal or the service. I arrived and got a seat at the bar with a friend. We were immediately greeted and ordered some wine. We were also brought bread; one of the varieties with olives and sun dried tomatoes on top was delicious. We both ordered a half order of the cheese ravioli with a meatball. The pasta was fresh and delicious, the sauce was chunky and flavorful, and the meatballs were delightful. The manager, Deb, who recognized us from Mia Cucina chatted with us and explained the farm fresh options of the restaurant and surprised us with a sampling if the delicious homemade chocolate cake. Light and amazing! Overall, one of the best dining experiences I’ve had overall in a while. The service was attentive, the food was amazing, and my check was very affordable. I will be back!

New to New Albany. Not much going on here, but with not much else to choose from in the NA Hood, well, this is it. Hamburger was really good; tasty meat cooked as I requested. Wife had the chicken and it was a small boney under cooked thing. Others had a pizza, which was credible. Our liquor was a short pour, the beer menu looked strong. Service was sophomoric. She hadn’t been on the job long and was marginally trained. The chef was at NA Country Club for sometime, he has the pedigree to improve. He should get on it.

Plate does some things extremely well. .. .and others, not so much. My three meals here thus far have been a complete bag of inconsistency, but overall, still fairly good(I obviously kept returning). I remain hopeful that this space can finally support a decent restaurant. Plate makes great efforts to source locally(including, I’ve been told, from the chef’s farm). Meal one: shortly after they opened, the wife and I popped in for a bite. Since there was a wait for tables, we bellied up at the bar. I opted for the seared ahi tuna appetizer, while the wife went with the barkeep’s recommended brisket. The tuna was okay — not spectacular, but fairly good. The brisket was PHENOMENAL. If you want a five star experience at Plate, get the brisket. While eating meal one, we notice some very appetizing looking pizzas flying out of the kitchen and made a note to return for Tuesday pizza night. Meal two: you got it, pep and shroom(also tossed in a meatball pizza for good measure). Plate’s crust is quite good — lots of air pockets under a good-sized, chewy rim. Yes, it’s pie cut!!! Thank heavens. Plate’s toppings are another story — the pepperoni was fairly bland, not cupped or crispy(although the shrooms were fresh and tasty). The meatballs(described on the menu as «meatball dumplings») bore a striking resemblance to some very small chunks of ground beef tossed on a pizza. The tomato sauce(described for the meatball pizza as «spicy») was very bland(and not nearly enough of it). All in all, while sitting atop a fantastic crust, the pizzas just lack flavor — no zest, no zing. Meal three — out with the kids in search of a late dinner. The girl and I had the shrimp and calamari app. While the ingredients were fresh and the fry job was good, these, again, lacked spice/a good sauce(the chipotle aioli didn’t do it for me — my daughter loved it). The boy fired up the chicken fingers which looked really good(and he was pleased with them). Finally, the wife had the spinach gnocchi, which she thought tasted like peas…and, boy, oh boy, does she HATE peas! I had a nibble and thought the gnocchi was pretty good(it did have a pretty earthy/spinach flavor — oh, and, by the way, I LOVE peas). So, all in all, Plate shows a lot of promise. Some zesty sauce on the pizza and a little more flavor here and there, and I’m a huge fan. If you’re in the neighborhood and giving it a try, one word: BRISKET.

By George, I think New Albany’s got it! Yay! Really like the atmosphere/ambiance. Very pleasantly greeted and seated at booth mid-restaurant. Was very nice and private-feeling. Everything they serve is locally grown and derived – I definitely support that! Bread was small crunchy Italian slices with oil/vinegar dipper and mini-Focaccia puffs – quite good. Excellent Mediterranean salad to start, nicely dressed and plenty of olives, artichoke, feta, fresh cherry tomatoes and romaine not iceberg. I had the pork chop dish which was OUTOFTHISWORLD. He had lasagna that was amazingly topped with mascarpone, yummm. I have not seen that before. Service was great – a couple of the folks were from the now-defunct Mia Cucina and it was fun to see them in a MUCHBETTER establishment. Chef Al has a great resume as does Matt, the sous chef. Classy. Reasonable prices. Vegetarian AND gluten-free menu. Kids menu. Wine list, very acceptable. Basic beers. On-street parking and a lot across from the restaurant. About 5 big-screen TV’s. The ONLY negative for me was the piped-in music. A little too loud and not the right genre, but that’s just my humble opinion. And it didn’t hamper our experience. Can’t wait to go back and sample more on the menu. We truly enjoyed the visit.
