My sister and I came to have lunch here. The place seems super cool and laid back which I really liked! Nice neat place. Besides the looks and coolness of the place, the service was terrible and slow. If it were busy I could have looked past this. There were only 6 or 7 others in the restaurant and they were all at the bar. Regulars maybe, because the servers seemed to ignore us for the most part to continue chatting with them. Still, we stayed and ordered some food. I didn’t feel like having an alcoholic beverage since it was still to early in the day for that. For me at least. The server seemed very dissatisfied that we only ordered glasses of water. The food however was okay. Just okay. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and it came out well done. I didn’t even bother asking them to remake it, I was hungry and didn’t want that to take to long. My sisters boyfriend was working there as a cook at the time, so at least the French fries came out decent. Although who messes those up? He even said the rest of the chefs there had no idea what they were doing. Maybe that’s why my burger was well done instead of medium. I had heard good things about this place so I came with high expectations. Maybe that’s why I’m so disappointed.

Came in after work at 5 and there were only two people on staff. We went to the bar and were never helped. Finally sat at a table and a waitress came over 10 minutes later. I suppose we were there during shift change so another waitress closed the tab. I ordered off the happy hour menu and knew my bill should have been $ 15+tax. It came back as $ 29. The waitress acted like I was lying(and ordered two entrées to myself?) and was visibly aggitated at having to correct my bill. The ONLY reason I am not giving a one star review is because my flatbread was very good. As an unrelated aside, this is definitely a bro bar with few women in sight.

Seems like a college age, or more appropriately a just-post-college-age bar. Not too small, not too big, modern outside with contemporary décor(exactly appropriate to the neighborhood). Pool table, plenty of TV’s, central bar with a decent if generic beer selection and a few decent vodkas, but otherwise not a place you’d come to for hard liquor. Definitely loud inside from the jukebox and the TV’s– not a quiet area to be had, but that’s okay.

Many people had recommended I go try their food because of how close I live. I was very excited to go and headed there on a Sunday night with my little brother. We went inside and it was pretty busy, there was no one greeting so we assumed it was seat yourself(which was correct). We sat there for about 15 minutes and no one came to our table so I walked around till I found an employee and asked if we could seat ourselves and she said yes. It was extremely loud inside so we figured we’d go outside in hopes we could snag a waitress and inform them of our presence. After we moved outside we sat there for ANOTHER15 minutes and no one approached us or even came outside even after I had asked one of the waitresses if we could sit where ever. So we went and sat outside and with the sun setting, the temperature dropping and our stomaches growling, we began to become quite frustrated. I wandered inside to the bar and waiting for one of the bartenders to notice me. I then asked him if they served food outside because I had been sitting there for quite some time and no one had come out. He apologized and asked for our drink orders and said he’d be with us shortly.(At this point we contemplated just leaving because we were so damn hungry). The bartender came out and brought us menus and said he’d be right back. By this time we didn’t even really want to be there anymore so we ended up ordering to go. It took a little over 30 minutes to get our order. We even saw it sitting in the window for quite some time before someone brought it to us. After paying, we took our food and rushed home because we were so starving. Come to find they didn’t put any of our additional ordered toppings on our burgers which was quite frustrating. Another thing we weren’t fond of was the fact that you had to pay $ 1.50 extra to get fried with your burger rather than chips. What?! Seems a little much. Overall, the food was pretty good. We both felt like it was a bit over priced for what it was though. Not sure if we will be coming back. Perhaps if they ever are decently staffed.

Pathetic and lousy service, but great food. Only reason we go there is because it’s close.

Awesome place to hang out with friends if you’re in the area. Great drinks, good food, good service and in the Sumner time if you’re in the mood there’s volleyball and a swimming pool to cool you off on those hot summer days

Super conveinent neighborhood type of bar/pub. good overall service and fun accomodations from sand volleyball, cornhole and of course darts inside. a great gathering place for friends. Great concept to have this part of the Lifestyle Communities Condo’s and open to the public as well. Probably one of the best gathering spots for casual patio drinks in New Albany and the food service is pretty good for a bar/pub…wouldn’t come here specifically for a meal but snacking while drinking the food is very good.

Check out Sunday brunch. It is surprisingly delicious and affordable with massive portions. The sausage sliders were incredible, as was the hash brown stack(with a side of decadent heart attack). We got lucky and there weren’t very many people there and we had the pleasure of being waited on by John. He is always friendly and attentive on our visits. If you happen to make it for dinner, they have a great selection of pizzas and some pretty good wraps and wings. It does get busy, but that’s to be expected for a neighborhood bar with so many 20 to 40-something residents.

Great food. Pathetic service. We’ve heard about the poor service here in other reviews and from friends. The rumors are true. Our friends met us there as we were eating and ordered food and drinks. Their food arrived before the waitress ever brought the drinks.(Restaurant had a whopping 12 other people there so bar wasn’t slammed) my husband ordered a 2nd drink, which she also forgot about. She literally walked toward our table, stopped, and turned around for the bar as it finally hit her. Most of the evening she spent holding up the wall by the kitchen and texting. The food was very good. We ordered a pizza, which was delicious, and my friends had sandwiches that were also yummy. So, assuming your food and drinks ever make it to the table, you at least won’t be disappointed.

Convenient place to meet up with friends if you or they happen to live in the area. Servers are pleasant enough, not super friendly but not rude either. They don’t offer the best happy hour prices, but it’s reasonable. The best time to be here is on warm evenings when you can play cornhole. As for the food, I recently had a chance recently to try«The Devil on Goatback» flat bread which consists of white cheddar, house cured pork belly, baby spinach, caramelized onions, dates, and sriracha aioli. It had good flavors, and the sweetness from the dates were a pleasant surprise. They were really skimpy with the pork belly though.

Stopped in yesterday for lunch. The bartender Reid was wiping off all the bottles of liquor, friendly greeting. Reid suggested the wings(40 cent wings on Monday) and pizza. Took the bartenders suggestions food was really good. We will be back.

The Goat is a weird place and has always been the kind of joint that takes for granted that people will go there because of easy access and location. It’s the only bar I’ve ever been to where a bartender actually forgot that I ordered a drink. The service is usually indifferent and often oblivious to the needs of their customers. But recently I’ve felt that it’s getting better at the Goat slowly but surely. Their pizza is very very good and they now show all NFL games on Sunday. The food is a little on the pricey side but drinks are pretty cheap. They are furnished on the inside and have cornhole outside. Breakfast brunch on Sunday isn’t bad. C’mon, Goat. I’m rooting for you.

Used to love the goat. As far as bar food goes it’s actually really good in my opinion. But recently the food got more expensive and the servings got smaller. They tried to go upscale with the new menu and it’s a HUGE step back. I used to go all the time but haven’t been there in months. I live right down the road so it’s disappointing. I recommend Past Times over the goat. The good is just as good and it’s far less expensive for what you get.

The food is pretty good, but the drink selection isn’t the best. It is overcrowded on weekends and boring on weekdays. The jukebox can be fun.

I’ve only been here twice and I’ve never had food. Just drinks. I will say that they usually only have one or two bartenders working the whole place and getting a drink takes longer than it should. Not the bartenders fault, really, if there aren’t enough to fill the demand of the crowd. Just kind of annoying. I expect that downtown at the crowded bars, but not in the burbs. The mixed drinks are usually pretty strong and well priced for what you get. There isn’t a huge selection of draft beers, but the bottles are decently priced. The patio is a bonus and it’s fun to come here and drink and watch volleyball in the summer time. Plus, my office is less than 2 minutes away so it’s a good place to stop after work.

First off, how come all of the 5 star reviews are filtered(19 of 26 filtered reviews)? Anyways– I like the goat. We visit often, since we live within walking distance. They don’t really have any drink specials, but the staff are always friendly and the beer is always cold and carbonated. We like that they offer corn hole outside on the patio. The pizza is actually really good, as are a couple of the sandwiches, salads, burgers and wings(I’ve tried a lot of food here). It can get pretty busy when the weather is nice, the patio is absolutely packed on volleyball nights during the summer. One downfall is that there are some really odd characters that frequent this place. If you try and be friendly to someone, they latch on and things get awkward. With that being said, I like the goat and will continue to frequent!

I have lived by this bar for 8 years. It’s much better than it used to be. Spring/summer you have more after-work professionals, esp with the volleyball games. It is nice to have a bar you could walk to and from. The food is much improved and a much better pub/bar menu. The burgers are surprisingly really good! Hubby has had goat cheese & chipotle. I tried the black & Bleu. Honestly, they got points bc the carry out came in earth friendly containers vs styrofoam. Too bad this place wasn’t like this years ago, I would’ve been here more.

The Goat is a cool and trendy place to hang out with friends. Especially on a mild evening, it’s nice to be able to sit on the outdoor patio and watch a volleyball(or corn hole) game while having a drink of choice. There is a nice mix of older and younger patrons, good drinks, and popular music. One thing I didn’t like was the restrooms(mens). There was only one working urinal and one toilet. On a crowded Saturday night, the last thing a bunch of guys want to do is wait in line to pee. The last time I was there, this actually resulted in a fight between a few drunk guys. One decided that someone in the stall was taking too long, thus, decided to start kicking the door. Now, I’m not saying the establishment is to be held responsible for the conflict. But it would be nice to have all the urinal facilites working… especially on a busy weekend. A nice change from a crowded big city club. I’ll definately be back!

Stopped in to try their famous subs– according to their website they invented them… Anyway, they were your average bar subs. Not bad at all, but in no way different from dozens I’ve had at other places. In New Albany, I’d rather go to Eagle, or even Donato’s. Also got wings– decent, but not great– and fried mushrooms-meh. All in all, typical bar food, at slightly high prices. If I lived in the complex I’d stop in once in a while if I was too lazy to go 5 minutes farther away, but it’s not worth a trip. As for atmosphere, I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was dead. Music was still blasting, though.
