I think I really only come to the place due to the fact I like the pizza crust a little too much. Service tonight was kind of slow. It was a Friday night but there were not that many tables sat and our waiter didn’t have many tables. He was just sort of slow. My niece had her mac & cheese already gone before my sister and I got our pizzas. And it’s not like she shoveled it in either. Probably a good ten minutes went by before we got our food. And this was on top of waiting 10 minutes between placing our drink order and our food order.

A wonderful place with the best atmosphere! The waitress brought pizza dough for the kids to play with and pass the time; genius! Clean, friendly, and we didn’t wait long at all on food!

The hubs and I met some friends here for dinner this past weekend. If you’ve been to a Mellow Mushroom before you know what to expect. They have tasty pizza and a decent beer selection.
I opted for a small (4 slice, 10 inch) Thai dye pizza. It is pretty tasty, the only thing I wish it had was a little peanut sauce. The only hitch in the proceedings was the fact that the beer list wasn’t updated and our server wasn’t sure what beers were still being poured or were out. We only found out what beers were no longer available after we ordered. Which was pretty annoying but didn’t get in the way of enjoying our visit.

Great spot on Market street with lots of pizza and sandwich options. It was clean, had a cool vibe, and the staff was nice.
I had a mushroom Reuben sandwich for lunch that was very good. On average their portion sizes are good and the food tastes fresh.

Crazy fun pizza choices! More upscale than a regular pizza place. Extensive beer list with a regular bar. Good size restaurant with a spacious atmosphere. It’s nice they have a separate room you can rent out. Good service and friendly hostesses.

Mellow mushroom is a great place to enjoy some great pizza and a nice variety of craft beers. I’ve been to this location several times. It’s very kid friendly and the atmosphere is fun. My only complaint is the food can take a little while, but it’s always been delicious so I would rather wait for a quality meal.
Would recommend to my friends.

Disappointing. I would say the reviews and stars on here are about right. Service was ok. The food was a little slow in coming and mine wasn’t cooked through. Bright side: the décor is pretty cool. I won’t be back to try it all again.

It’s been years since I’ve been to a Mellow Mushroom. I remember stopping in for the first time to the one on Polaris.
I thought the concept was so cool but I didn’t really enjoyed joy the pizza.
My friend recommended here and I came reluctantly.
On the corner with parking on the street or right in the back.
Servers were attentive and nice. We needed time because my girlfriend and I hadn’t seen each other in about a year. They had all the games in as it was Saturday around noon and the place was great on the inside.
We ordered a greek salad to be split and a maui wowie pizza.
The regular pizza had 8 slices and it was awesome love how the salad came out in wooden bowls and had banana peppers in it.
The pizza had pineapples, bacon, onion… perfect combo since I love Hawaiian pizza.
I was impressed and happy that I came back.
It must have been a bad day at the other location.
I’d come here to watch games and eat pizza again.

I really like this place. The layout is nice and you are not to close to other guest. The lighting is comfortable and not to bright. The wheat dough they use for the pizza is amazing and during lunch time you can buy it by the slice! I had that and half a sub today. Came out in about 7 minutes. Not bad at all. Would come here again. My server was great too. Kept it simply and didn’t visit too much.

Amazing food and a large variety of adult beverages. Get the Drunken Fun Guys (bite-​size version of Mellow Mushroom’s killer pretzel appetizers)!
Normally sit at the bar — always fabulous service and the bartenders are so personable. Bar experience is definitely five out five stars. It’s more fun that way!
Table service can be slow sometimes but servers are generally pretty good. They’re still relatively new and I’ve noticed a lot of turnover in servers so I’m guessing they’re still adjusting (reason for four stars).
In fact, I’ve never had any issues with staff at all. The customers are the ones who create a negative experience for me. Always busy for early dinner times (between 4:30−6pm), great after 8pm because apparently everyone in New Albany eats dinner at a normal time besides myself and whomever I go here with.

Food was delicious as always. Beer selection pronominal especially for an IPA fan!
Service was slow at the start, they stuck us in the corner back by the fountain machine and register, requested a booth and they sat us elsewhere. Staff was knowledgeable and realistic when it can to choosing menu options.

Absolutely atrocious service. Possibly the worst I have ever encountered. We have been there twice now, and I officially won’t return. We dined in the first time. The place had only been open for about a month so I cut them some slack but it wasn’t overly busy. We had no wait for a table of 5 — and it took well over an hour for the pizza while our drinks sat empty until we summoned the server over. The next time we went in, we called in a hoagie order to go. After waiting 42 minutes (being told over and over, it’ll be right out) — the bartender finally confirmed our hoagies we’re going in to the oven now. Hour later… We finally got our to go order. Never. Again.
The food is above average yes. But the service: inexcusable.

Decent pizza but I think they’ve got a little too much emphasis on the Mellow. Service is SLOW even at lunch with only 4 other tables with people at them. If you have time to wait it’s not bad but I can’t say it’d be in my top 10 of places to go grab a slice or even drinks after work.

Food has always been great, but their service is not. The first time we ate their our waitress didn’t write down anything and when the food came she forgot to put in our daughter’s order. She seemed spaced out and uninterested with our table.
We have picked up orders there as well and each time the wait has been long and orders have been lost. Their pick up system is unorganized.
There are good, hard working employees there, but the majority are not. I suggest hiring new employees and/​or better training.

I’ve been to other Mellow Mushroom restaurants in other towns (Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC) so I was super stoked when I found out they had a new one near me in New Albany.
Unlike the other reviewers, I can honestly say that the dough is meant to be thick and the atmosphere is meant to be chill and laid back. Maybe their complaints should have been more along the lines that this place is too chill for the «pretentious New Albany» crowd? Who knows.
My White Rabbit pizza and blackberry cider were awesome. The dough was perfect and the waitstaff was plenty accommodating. I can’t wait to go back!

I saddled up to the bar to meet a few buddies for drinks. We chose this place because a few in the party wanted to grab a bite to eat. However, I wasn’t hungry. The beer list is very extensive; bottles and drafts at reasonable prices. The bartender was a little slow to offer up a menu to someone in my party that was eating. The first beer I had (CBC IPA) wasn’t cold enough and the glass was warm. I changed my selection for my second beer and it was fine.
As far as a place only for drinks, this probably wouldn’t be a go to place for me, but it is very promising as a restaurant with a good beer selection.

I first encountered the Mellow Shroom in Savannah. At the time, I thought they did a great job of giving a «chain» a very local feel. Then came Polaris and now New Albany. The ambiance of the NA MM has much more of a chain restaurant feel. That said, the tap selection is fantastic and the service was great.
A very THICK and CHEWY dough dominates the MM pizza. Unlike true NY style, the dough is still very thick under the toppings. The toppings were all fine and tasty, but nothing spectacular. While my pie had a great amount of sauce on it, there simply is no zing, bam, zowie or other Batman fight word that can be used to describe its flavor — it’s just bland.
So, if you’re into thick and chewy tasty crust (or looking for a good on-​tap beer selection), give MM a try. For me, it’s just not my slice of pie.

I have been going to the Polaris location since it opened but I will go to this new location from now on. Same wonderful pizza but the service here is superior on every level. The décor is trippy as to be expected but this one is even better. Love the moon light and the outhouse entrance for the restrooms. Oh, and TV at the urinal? Yes please! Look forward to being a regular for a long time!
