Pictures here look nothing like the hotel grounds or the rooms. The rooms were old and poorly maintained. The electrical socket for the TV was dangling from the wall and I felt uncomfortable using my laptop with it. The bed linen was clean, but the rest of the room had an air of decrepit overuse.

Stayed one night and lived up to our expectation which is a dingy old motel off the side of a busy road. Staff was friendly and super helpful but why can’t owners of any lodging realize they need to hire the right cleaner crew! The room is old but old does’ hv to mean unclean bathrooms and dusty bedroom. Use a vacuum with an attachment for heaven sakes. Bathroom had hair in the corner from floor most likely being mopped to the corner and the shower door on aluminum frame was heavy and tracks very dirty with mold/mildew. Their product especially the soap one should not use. The soap left a slippery coating on your body that you felt like you needed to soap off. Top it off, drainage was very slow in the tub so you end up standing in a dirty puddle of water. NOT appealing what so ever. Cable/TV I think had 10 – 15 channels with a very poor quality monitor TV. Breakfast not worth mentioning. Honestly it could be quite cute. Instead of traditional drab décor, why not do something more fun & modern/retro look to go with the outside 50’s vibe? and ENSURE to hire cleaning crew that knows how to clean. Go into the bathroom after it is cleaned and see if you, the manager want to use the bathroom with bits of hair and old bath tub scum left behind. Sorry as I said staff very nice. I think the place can turn around if really clean and décor more up beat. Enjoyed being in the area h/ver. Beautiful mountain ranges and clean fresh air. Noise level from the busy road wasn’t a factor but the room wasn’t truly dark with the lights off.

We have stayed here many times to attend concerts at Tanglewood. In the past we have really enjoyed staying at the Econolodge! The things we enjoyed most about this hotel are that it’s quiet, the outdoor pool and the friendly staff. This made our trip to the Berkshires excellent! This year Econolodge became Econohell! Although it was still peaceful and quiet, there was no pool available for our use(it was empty, being painted or being filled.) Additionally, the workers are no longer customer oriented. This really saddened us, we truly looked forward to staying at The Springs. After speaking to local shopkeepers, I am convinced it is time to find a new hotel for our trip to the Berkshires. Much better places are available! We will miss the Econolodge we visited a few years back.

I stay in the Berkshires every year for the James Taylor concert at Tanglewood. It is usually impossible to find a decent rate during the 4th of July. This place was a little gem. The rates were amazing($ 60/night). The room was very large, clean and the bed was so comfortable. I didn’t hear my neighbors, which is always a plus! They even had a fridge and microwave, which was great if you are staying 4 nights like we did. They had a decent continental breakfast as well. Because of rain, wasn’t able to use the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained. The staff was also very nice! I would def. recommend this place and will be glad to stay again. Check out The Donut Man down the road south on route 7, great place!

Stayed here Thursday July 3, 2014 Pros: Staff friendly enough, convenient location for me, free fridge in room, clean sheets, comfortable bed, ok price, continental breakfast seemed ok(we ate out but others were there and seemed fine with it) nothing fancy but adequate for a single night. Cons: I booked online and they said reservation was cancelled, room was humid and AC didn’t improve on that much, shower temp impossible to set — kept changing from ice cold to scalding hot.

This place gives new meaning to the word«econo» They provide water from a WELL! The well didn’t go dry, the pump broke. 7:00 a.m. and I was ready to shower and attend a function at Williams College. Turned the faucet on — nothing. Not just no hot water, NOWATER!!! Couldn’t shower, shave, nor brush my teeth. I was assured the problem would be fixed in 15 min. 45 minutes later I checked out. To add insult to injury, the general manager was belittling to me. «You look fine» was his response to my describing how I looked and smelled! Unbelievable! Managers are supposed to serve customers not belittle them. Stay here at your own risk, but if things don’t work out, don’t expect management to make any effort to resolve the issues. Ugh!!!
