Today, I’ve been here for both lunch and evening dessert. Both were excellent. Atmosphere in this place is funky/homey and the staff is along the same track. I had a Cuban sandwich for lunch and it was great. The ice cream at night was out of this world good. There is a few tables on the sidewalk that provides nice outdoor seating when the weather is good.

Holy cow! If you are a bovine lover, you need to check this place out. We were walking around New Bern on a warm Sunday afternoon and were looking for a coffee shop to get some refreshments. We stumbled upon Cow Café and were happy to find that they were open until 5. Cow Café serves sandwiches and light fare and then specializes in ice cream. We had just eaten so I did not have ice cream yet their selection of flavor sand ice cream splits is quite tempting. There are stuffed cows, pictures, moooovies and all kinds of cow memorabilia inside the store. They have tables and seating and you order at the ice cream counter. I only had a Pepsi(when in New Bern) and my friend sampled their ice cream. They also serve coffee. We had a relaxing stop and this place abounds with ice cream and cow-related souvenirs.

Amazingly delicious ice cream Sundays. Completely customizable. Friendly staff who put the extra effort in to ensure our table was spotless and gave us info. About all the different ice cream flavors. Would definitely go back; very nice décor(maybe a bit too«kiddie»…), and definitely hit the spot!

Nice, quaint little sandwich /ice cream shop. I had a Cuban sandwich and my wife had a salad. Both were very good. We finished with ice cream cones which were outstanding. A great place for a light lunch or a special treat. Their popcorn in many flavors also looked good.

Of all the restaurants in all of New Bern, if my kids have a vote, there’s one place they want to go. In my kiddo’s world, there is only one place downtown. Cow Café. They love everything about the atmosphere and I love everything about the Greek Cow(with extra Mooziki Sauce of course.) The price is a little steep, but not bad when you realize you’re getting such good food and a place for the kids to play. It’s next to impossible to get out without a scoop of ice cream in your hand.

Terrible customer service. I have been to Cow Café several times and every time the old cranky man ruins my experience. It doesn’t help that the food is terrible. The combination of bad recipes and low quality ingredients guarantee a terrible culinary experience. The ice cream is tolerable.

We were immediately drawn in by the cow décor and the need for good ice cream. We were not disappointed. The ice cream is top notch and my 11-month old son loved the back play area. I have been multiple times now, love both the regular ice cream and the shakes. Highly recommended.

Awesome place to grab ice cream. It’s small little place right on the Main Street. I would highly recommend this place for your ice cream fix.

Delicious ice cream! Very lovely place to go during the summer. Their choices of ice cream are very extensive and their subs are quiet good too. Definitely a good place to go for lunch or afternoon snack. Very kid-friendly place!

A cute little place to grab bite to eat or even just an ice cream cone. It’s somewhere where we always take guests to when they visit New Bern for the first time. The food is yummy, as is the ice cream. However yummy though, the service is, on occasion, slow. I once grabbed lunch there with a few friends and it took us nearly 45 minutes to get our food.

Fun place to get ice cream in the area. I had vanilla and mooberry mousse. My friend had almond joy. Mooberry mousse was yummy with a swirl of blueberry syrup throughout.

Ice cream is good! Lots of flavors! I recommend a Sunday with all the toppings! I had the chocolate and peach ice cream! I also bought the chicken plate with Caribbean rice and black beans. It was ok– and filled the spot!

Great place for a stop for some ice cream, there is a nice room in the back for the kids to hang out for a bit. The flavor of the ice cream was very good. True find in the home of Pepsi.

Great place for kids. Small play area in the back for younger kids(2 – 5 maybe). Quaint ice cream place, but the sandwiches were good too. Hubby said it was the best Turley sandwich he’s ever had.. Town itself seems very nice as well, but we just stopped for lunch and to stretch our legs. Perfect for that. Parking was easy and there was additional parking in back.

This was a place we found via Unilocal and the reviews were pretty spot on. Fun place for families, with loaded hot dogs complete with cole slaw, chili, and cheese — the Cuban sandwich was great too. Kids hot dog meal with chocolate milk for 3 and change. We enjoyed the Nutella ice cream for dessert — just wish the ice cream came with free refills. Cool collectors atmosphere with all the cow memorabilia you could ever imagine. Kids loved the train traveling around the ceiling in the dining room. Friendly staff.

I work downtown and never really have the time to walk around and go exploring. I had some downtime, so my husband joined me for a walk and we found this gem! We lunch and got our food super quick. Everything was fresh and tasted great. The staff was really sweet and made sure we had everything we needed. When we were done we got some of their amazing ice cream to go. Love this place! Ps: The Nutella ice cream is the bomb!

Fun place with great food. Had a turkey sandwich with a side of cole slaw. The environment combined with the diverse menu make this a must try for anyone in New Bern.

Definitely an interesting joint in a little town called New Bern. The décor will interest and astound you to an extend that will make you pause and look around before you head for your ice cream. We had sandwiches, ice creams and shakes from here. The chicken salad sandwich was average. I tasted the Black Walnut, Udder Pecan, Cookie Monster, Almond Amaretto and Pistachio. I felt the Black Walnut was a bit too sweet for my liking. However, they are a good choice if you are doing shakes as it brings the sweetness down by a noticeable notch. I had the udder pecan ice cream which I found to be best of the ones that I had tasted. They do have a nice kids party lounge at the back of the café. On both our visits, we saw different parties celebrating birthdays. The service was cordial and prompt with our orders. If you are not an ice cream person, stop by here for the décor for the least. Bottom line: Good ice creams, colorful interesting décor and good service. Tip: Locals claim their apple pie are the best. We didn’t get a chance to try them.

This is a great café located at New Bern downtown. We visited this café twice during our visit. Some of the ice cream flavors we had tasted were Maple Walnut, Cookie Monster, Almond Amaretto, Pistachio & Udder Pecan. We had the Chicken Salad Sandwich, which i thought was OK and hence the 4 star They have a nice kids area at the back which I thought was very colorful and perfect for birthday parties. The service was good and we were happy we visited this store.
