Great hiking trails with gorgeous river views along the way. Perfect place to get some fresh air and walk a dog.

Great place to camp. 15 min outside of New Bern, NC heading East on 70. Decent bathrooms, hot showers, electrical $ 17 and non electrical $ 12 sites with fire pit. Bike and hiking trails, and a big sandy beach on the river. Would camp here again.

Flanners Beach located on the Neuse River in Croatan National Forest just off US HWY 70 between New Bern, NC & Havelock, NC at the end of Flanners Beach Road. Flanners Beach Recreation Area offers parking for RVs, a large picnic area a new bathhouse with hot water and electrical hookups. There is a small beach on the Neuse River, but I would recommend just go the extra 30 miles to the Atlantic Ocean and you will be happy. There are a few trails here some paved and some unpaved. Dogs on the leash are allowed here.
