My family and I went to Waltz Inn yesterday 12⁄19. We went there for a Christmas dinner outing. The food was very good, the restaurant is clean and cozy… If you go the fried mushrooms are a must, along with the escargot. Enjoy!

Usually food and service is good BUT tonight 12÷19÷15 was terrible! My husband ordered prime rib medium rare it arrived tough and well told the server who was old enough to know what prime rib should look like and. never should have served it so my husband said to her this isn’t med rare she was umm ok with a attitude. She boy out to a second one same way. It was Like it was cooked yesterday and still cold I mean refrigerated cold. So disabled!!! Why didn’t they just say they were out. Whoever owns this place needs to pay attention to what gets served out of that kitchen!!! The server should know what prime rib looks like when prepared properly plus she never brought us our Cole slaw. She had the nerve to ask if he needed a box. Never again. Had good experiences in the past not sure why the decline.

I love this place! It’s quaint, in a large home so be prepared to wait if you show up during peak dining times. The bar is really small so waiting there is pretty uncomfortable. I like their beer selection, they usually have Bells on tap. I order the ½ mushrooms ½ onion rings. You have to try it! The mushrooms are baby portobellos with a light tempura batter… OMG amazing… I drool like Pavlov’s dog as soon as these are put on the table! For the entrée, I like the jumbo shrimp or the Prime Rib. If you order Caesar Salad, get the dressing on the side or else they tend to drown it. My favorite side is the tempura asparagus, it is wonderful along with the creamy, spicy dipping sauce. I’ve always been too full to eat dessert so I can’t tell you how it is. I find the waitstaff to be nice and attentive which is a rare treat. I highly recommend the Waltz Inn, just get their early!

Not only is the building historic the food is homemade. I’ve had the fish on Friday, perch, trout, bbq pork sandwich, asian chicken, it is all Quality food. And the beer was ice cold.

The food is always pretty good as is the service. They have the best coleslaw you can find. The only real issue I have with this place is the prices. They seem high to me but overall this place is worth a shot.

1 star because I have to! ??? Went here last night for the first time in a long time. Not sure what has caused the«DRASTIC» decline? The place was dirty & service was nonexistent! Food was«HORRIBLE!!!» Use to love their deep fried mushrooms, but they taste like they had been sitting for hours! My daughter actually had 3 hairs in her entrée alone!!! Not to mention they have raised their prices, which would be OK, if other aspects were raised, or at least remained the same. Waltz Inn, you better step it up!!! :-(

Okay, if this was in San Francisco(Where I live) I’d still rate it at least 4 stars. Great home cooked food, their Austrian bean soup is amazing, the fish and chips are great, and given that this is in the middle of NOWHERE, and your other choices are nothing, or to drive to a mass produced Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, or some other mediocre chain food, this place is absolutely top notch. And very historic too. The stories and historical pieces in here are amazing. Coming up on 200 years old.

What a nice find. Started off with the fried mushrooms. Huge whole mushrooms deep fries. Very tasty. Followed with the fish and chips dinner. Simply outstanding. I had the 2 pc and that was plenty. Large portions. Great wait staff. I will certainly return when in the area. Cool find. Thumbs up on this one.

By far they have some of the best fish around. Their perch is unbelievable! Everything is basically made from scratch so it reminds me of good quality home cooking. You will pay a little more when you eat here but it is so worth it for the quality that they give you. My parents live in Saginaw and love to head to the Waltz Inn whenever they visit my family.

Had a family dinner at the Waltz Inn, while the staff was friendly my prime rib was horrible along with the side of rice. We sent our rib back(terribly over cooked, we ordered it med rare) waitress brought a different rib still came back over cooked. She never asked the second time how the steak was… rice was a plate of mush and just awful. While everyone else seem to enjoy their meal I will never eat at this establishment again… also I think $ 25.99 for a prime rib dinner is way over priced.

Probably the best fish dinner I have ever had. Big pieces of fish, fresh cut fries and delicious cole slaw. Very friendly service and a quaint décor to boot.

This is an Interesting place, former red light establishment, supposedly haunted — ask the waitress to tell you a story. Looks like an old house and feels old inside — with rooms added on to rooms to get the floorspace. Rather dark and dreary inside, but interesting pictures on the wall. The food is great, especially fish basket(walley or perch) and Friday clam chowder! the wait staff is very friendly and down to earth.

Really good home cooked food. It you’re ever in Waltz(and if you’re not from Waltz why would you be?) Be sure to check it out. While you’re in Waltz be sure to tour its other attractions like the bank and the hardware store, maybe stare at the railroad tracks for an hour.

Waltz is probably one of the only places in Michigan with less humans than New Boston, which is the city I’m currently living in. I think between New Boston and Waltz there is a total of 13 humans. I’ve been to the Waltz Inn a few times, and it’s the only reason to go there. The food has always been excellent. I am obsessed with chicken quesadillas, and the Waltz Inn does not disappoint. My friends always get burgers and they love them. They look huge and thick and if they didn’t have awesome quesadillas I’d go for one. The service is fast and friendly, too. It’s in a small town so everyone pretty much knows one another, and the waitresses are super nice and hospitable. They also compliment my hair every time I walk in so maybe I’m biased, but I find them to all be sweet ladies. Like Mike P. said, after you’re done eating you can take a walk down the railroad tracks or check out the hardware store. Maybe say hi to the 496 cows and 3 humans you’ll pass. It’s romantic.
