Agape Day Spa

Agape is amazing! From day one Laurie, the owner, has worked with me to accommodate my schedule. All the staff has been polite and pleasant and prices make their high quality services affordable for even those on a budget. In the rare occasion there has been an issue with scheduling they were able to fix it quickly and make sure I felt satisfied with the situation. They have well trained staff who are knowledgable and competent. I have been a repeat customer now for 2 ½ years for laser hair removal, facials, teeth whitening, & massage with which I’ve been completely satisfied.

Great service at great prices. I am a frequent customer and never had any issues.

REVIEW FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL ONLY– OK I loved this place at first (nice place, nice people) but in all reality, the laser hair removal just didn’t work on the dark hair (i knew it wouldn’t work in the light hairs obviously). I got 5 treatments which i assumed would be enough, but it was no where near enough so even though it lessened the hair, it really left MOST behind.
ALSO, apparently you have to be SUPER careful after you get laser hair removal to protect against the sun. They never warned me of this so I ended up with sun spots all over my face now, which I’ll need a bleaching cream for.
I really wish they had stressed that you need to wear a large hat, sunscreen etc. after a treatment. I didn’t go lay out or anything, but just normal running around town was too much sun after laser. If I had known that I wouldn’t have sun spots!
So, I ended up with laser hair removal that didn’t work and now sunspots… Maybe other lasers would be better… I’m going to a Dr. office for laser next time.

I had a gift card for a european facial and deep tissue massage. At first, I was not really impressed with interior of the spa. (It is nicer in appearance than the retreat day spa) It was nice just not high end in comparison to spas in austin. However, the people were SO incredibly kind and attentive! MARY gave me the most gentle and relaxing facial I have ever received. She is a very warm and gentle person. SHELLY gave me my massage. She was so pleasant. She did a great job getting the kinks out of my back!
This place really focusses on the interpersonal aspect of the spa experience. There was a true connection for me and the providers. This was very refreshing! Their prices are great!
I will be back!

I had Microdermabrasin treatment here. I had 6 treatments, but also i didnt see any difference. I had this last year. I thought may be my skin didn’t suit the treatment. But now i had again the same treatment in chicago. For just two treatements i can see lot of difference. Now i realized that its not the fault of my skin, The fault is the treatment they did to me. I just wasted my money. And i use to go there every 15days. And the distance from my house is 40miles. total 80miles everytime. I wasted my time and money. please don’t go for this treatment any time.

I am giving Agape three stars because Lindsey, the laser tech, is AWESOME!!! I will go more in to depth a little later…
First of all, Agape Day Spa is located about a mile off the highway in a quaint renovated traditional New Braunflesy style house. They have street-​side chalk boards they use to advertise their specials.
The reception desk is immediately to your left when you enter. The staff at Agape is top notch– they are friendly, professional, educated and competent. When you enter, you’re greeted with a warm, comforting scent of «spa». They have lotion samples and several cosmetics and candles for sale. They have information about their newest services as well as several small couches where you may wait for your appointment.
Now, I had purchased two Groupons for laser hair removal. Lindsey was super knowledgeable, helpful and sensitive. She explained the process of laser hair removal, what I should see and provided great instructions.
NOW FOR THE NOT-​SO-​GOOD-​NEWS: On my hair, the laser didn’t work… after my six Groupon sessions plus two extra I still had significant hair growth. The reason I am frustrated is I was told I was the perfect candidate for LHR as I am fair in complexion and have dark hair. I was told because I was receiving the Brazilian LHR that the hormones in the area create more hair (I’d started leg laser hair removal at Stadia and had amazing results) after asking why the laser on my legs was working and not in the Brazilian area.
Now, about 4 ½– 5 months later it’s as if I had never gotten LHR (not to be gross!). I paid $ 200 for the groupon of 6 sessions, however I rather would have spent the money on waxes.
I have not experienced their spa services, just laser hair removal. Agape is clean (their bathroom is immaculate!), the staff is professional and they are most accommodating. I’d be interested to know others experiences!

I bought the package for laser hair removal, brazilian area. I LOVE the woman that does the procedure, doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable at all, very friendly. Yes, it does hurt a lot, feels like getting an intense tattoo in the area, but the whole brazilian area only takes 5 – 10 minutes to complete which is amazing! I am very pale with medium brown hair so I was a perfect candidate for hair removal.
I’m 21, and I had been waxing for 4 years every month and wasting way too much money! I took advantage of a deal they had going on which was ‘half price packages’ so i got the original $ 800 procedure for only 400! I am really impressed with the results i have received so far and i am only 2 sessions into the 6. I barely have any hair re-​growth but some is obviously expected during your sessions because of the different hair growth cycles.
I will post another review after my 6 sessions are over. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND, but wait for a special! They seem to hold specials all the time! Only complaint I have is that their hours aren’t as convenient for my schedule and sometimes their scheduling assistant messes up your appointment times and whatnot. Otherwise, GO HERE! :)
