Freddys Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

I’m a vegetarian and usually burger joints don’t have veggie burgers that really wow me. Freddy’s is an exception. Their veggie burger ($ 5.99) is honestly amazing — eating it felt more like a religious experience. I also got their fries and a vanilla shake. The shake was great, nothing exceptional, and the fries very well seasoned but when paired with their special fry sauce, it was the
. SO amazing! The staff here was really friendly as well. I’ll definitely be back.

We went here for the custard! Talk about creamy! This being my first custard, I asked the cashier for guidance. She gave me a taste and helped me through my order! Truly enjoyed my custard in a waffle cone.

Good service and custard, but I’ve had richer custard before. They went very skimpy on the toppings though. Paid for extra Reese’s and didn’t get hardly any. They gave me a free side of it at least…

Great place to chill… custard is really creamy. i had a carmel Sunday with peanuts… It was amazing. We went 2 nights in a row.

Good customer service, quick delivery of food after a long day in the sun, excellent custard, and a mostly clean restaurant. Would definitely visit again.

Every time we’ve been to this Freddys it’s been awesome. I don’t know about other Freddys but the one that we continue to visit is an exception to fast food restaurants in that they have pretty consistent management and staff working. From week to week, we see the same faces smiling behind the counter every time we come in as a family. With the friendly personnel, the good food, and the military discount, we hope to be long-​time customers. Thanks!

Rain rain… didn’t go away sent us to Freddy’s and we had a great day!
We came here on Memorial day when we visited Schliterbahn. Since it was storming so badly and we couldn’t do anything at the Bahn… we decided to leave and go have lunch!
What a great time! What great food… for burgers and fries and the frozen goodies, it was delish!
I came with my husband, 2 kids, sister, niece, and nephew. It was nieces birthday too!
We ordered our food…
When it came out we grabbed up some sauce (which is incredibly good… reminds me of thousand island type sauce, but FAR better)
Everything looked amazing. The burgers were so fresh, juicy and hot. The fries were crisp and golden. Shoestring fries… delicious. Great for dipping too!
The staff was friendly and the manager was all in… hands on involved with everything. He was whipping up shakes, assisting each line. very in tune with his store, which, in my experience, makes for great staff members and happy customers.
With everything we ordered so tasty and pleasing. we decided to get shakes too! And to boot, we asked if they would announce the birthday girl when they called her number.
And so they did. The kid told the manager, who took it upon himself to belt out a HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVI come get your shake over the intercom. Made her day! And the shakes were killer too!
LOVE the half modern/​half retro look and feel of everything.
I’d come back here, for sure. And I’ll recommend to others to come here as well. Great food. Great service. Whats better than that?

This is one of my favorite places to eat. Their steakburgers and patty melts are delicious, and aren’t just another slab of meat on a bun. The shoestring fries are really good, especially with chili and cheese. And everything can be ordered without onions, which is a huge plus for me.

Drive thru order for 2 reg chocolate shakes. Looked awesome on menu pictures. After paying the $ 3.69 each for two cups of soft serve ice cream with no whip cream or cherries as pictured on menu, not at all satisfied. Hopefully no animals find them that trash dumpster.

This is the third time I’ve gotten ‘frozen custard’ here that has been partially melted when received. When I get home (2 mi. away) the frozen custard is a soupy mess. It’s as if they put the custard in the cup and lazily let it sit before putting mix-​ins.
Other than that, the interior is clean and the burgers are decent. But what good is that if you can’t get your namesake right?

Love me some frozen custard. Custard is the only thing I’ve ever had from here so this is not a true rating of the overall restaurant. The frozen custard is silky smooth and sweeter than sugar. If you’ve never had it, order it plain (vanilla or chocolate) with no condiments on it. You get the true flavor and texture that way.

I like everything at Freddys, well, almost everything.
The facility is modern and clean.
The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items.
The Custard is outstanding.
The Steak-​burgers have the potential of being great, but they make the pattie thin and then cook it too fast on too high a heat. What happens to the meat is that the edges become crispy, crunchy. Meat is not supposed to be cruchy, so it makes this burger a no-​go in my opinion.
I’m hoping they realize that burger meat should have a consistency of NOT hard on the edges.
Other than the burger, everything else is great.

Pretty cool place with that old timey diner feel. As for the burgers, they mean well. The classic double is a two patty chopped to hell and flattened sandwich. The problem is they are so dry, and the two patties together only amount to about ¼ pound. That means the majority of your burger is lettuce and tomato. I do appreciate the bun which is buttered and grilled, and the shoe string fries were hot and crispy. I can still remember In and Out’s juicy double double while living in Tucson; man, what a juicy, delicious burger. The prices were good here that double, fries, and refillable soda was $ 6.35. I’ll try smash burger next, but I’ll probably be around $ 10.00 because they have «gourmet» burgers. We’ll see…

I just love this place! My order is always right and so good. The people are so nice, Tiffany took our order and she was so professional and patient. I definitely recommend this place and their concretes!

This place is kid friendly and clean including the restrooms. The service was fast however when we received our food several of our orders were wrong. The issue was quickly resolved and was done in a friendly manner.
We are looking forward to going back soon.

I have to say, these were quite good. You have to ask for a burger as a single. Coming off two days floating the Guadalupe a double soaked up a lot of alcohol.
I stopped in on the way out of town and got a double bacon cheeseburger. I asked for grilled onions, but they gave grilled and regular, I was okay with that. It was more than I needed, but I got it all down.
The combo comes with fries and a drink. The fries are thin, not quite shoestring, but close. Good flavor, i recommend adding the Freddy’s spice (probably salt, pepper, garlic salt, and paprika). There is a fry sauce. It was good, but I think it was not the quite taste for me with the fries, HOWEVER, it hit the spot on the burger.
When I drove back to Houston on 10, I saw there is one in Katy just west of 99. I will have to make a point to drive over so I can try the custard.

This place is DELISH! I got the patty melt even though I’m not a fan of rye bread. I loved the shoestring fries! Hubby got the cheeseburger with cheese fries. The burger is seasoned well & is not dry. I got the pumpkin pie concrete, where they literally take a slice of pumpkin pie & blend with vanilla custard… out of this world!

Sooooo awesome. Unbelievably savory burgers that combine the greasiness of Steak N’ Shake with the complex flavors of In-​N-​Out. I’ve gotten burned out on French fries, but I even managed to fall in love with theirs — shoestring fries with delectable seasoning!
The other half of the menu was worth a star all its own — frozen custard. Not even ice cream, mind you… even more decadent! Dozens of flavors and mixtures, cones, sundaes and «concretes» make the burger/​fries/​shake combination a veritable foodgasm.
Definitely one of my favorites.
