Wonderful place for all ages! Good date spot or even a family outing. The owners were very nice and had really awesome unique homemade flavors. 10⁄10 would recommend!

If you are wanting the BEST snow cones around here this is it! The flavors are unique and delicious! We go at least once a week and it’s the highlight of my day! The seasonal Pumpkin Spice with homemade marshmallow and sea salt caramel is the absolute best! I’ve never tried any flavor I didn’t like. The syrups they use are al natural so they don’t make you sick with the artificial sugary taste.

Awesome! Didn’t make me feel sick afterwards like most sno cones bc of all the sugar & corn syrup. I like their unique flavor ideas, can’t wait to try them all. Also have unique organic tamales!

This is amazing. I would visit this place quite frequently if I lived around here. It was a great way to satisfy my craving for ice cream in the 106 degree heat. I had the three flavor flight so I could taste multiples. I had dreamsicle, blackberry lavender, and strawberry basil. My favorite by far was strawberry basil, followed by dreamsicle. The blackberry was good, but didn’t appeal to my palette as much as the strawberry. The construction out front made me think it was closed, but it’s open!

Definitely the best snow cones I’ve ever had. The employees were very friendly and recommended some great flavors since it was our first time coming in. I recommend the green tea vanilla flavor with ice cream. What’s so great about their flavors is that they’re natural and not artificial. We went today and are for sure gunna be back tomorrow!

I found this pet friendly little building that used to be located on an airstream trailer. I have been wanting to try these all natural ingredient unique flavors for years. I chose a flight of three and received a 4th due to my Unilocal check in. I chose blackberry-lavender: I did not like this one at all as the blackberry flavor did not appeal to my palette. I chose sea salt chocolate caramel: this flavor was outstanding with the chocolate being dark and rich. I chose raspberry-basil: I did not like this at all. No reason, just don’t get it. I chose wedding cake: outstanding and a little sweeter than the chocolate but the flavor was wow… I tried my wife’s dreamscicle and that was excellent and was tart, fruity, and finished with condensed cream; excellent. I will only give them 4 stars for the ice because it was not as soft as expected. it was a tiny bit crystallized. If you have ever had a NOLA snoball, which is only made with the Sno wizard shaved machine from NOLA, you know what you are looking for – actual snow. This was not it. I heard real Hawaiian shaved ice was also like the New Orleans snoball texture I gave them the 5th star for being pet friendly, having dog water bowls and leash holders, and having a friendly staff.

I’m glad we tried this place. I ordered a flight, and my mom ordered the blackberry lavender and hibiscus mint. I ordered apple pie, green tea vanilla, watermelon basil, and pineapple upside down cake. We went here only because of the all natural flavors and colors. I really enjoyed all of my flavors, except the watermelon. I thought the basil was a little strong, and watermelon wasn’t strong enough. It was still refreshing though. My mom wanted hers side by side, but the flavors were mixed together. That’s an easy fix though, just make sure to tell them. My mom really liked her spring tamale. We didn’t feel gross like you normally do after eating a snow cone! Will definitely be back when we are driving through!

I’m super pleased with this place every time! They have some unusual favors, but they are all so amazing. My favorite is the wedding cake or vanilla. The lady that works here is so nice and sweet! Defiantly a great snowcone place!

I haven’t met a flavor I didn’t like! Great idea for a small business here in NB. My favorite is blueberry lavender. My son loves root beer with cream. The hubs loves the lemon/iced tea combo and daughter loves orange with cream. The owner and her employees are always providing super customer service. The has a little card that you keep for punches each time you visit to ear a free Snowcone. Keep in mind that this is a gourmet place! So expect prices much higher than your corn syrupy snow cone stops. It is money well spent for a great home made product.

Delicious snow cones all year round– yes please! Gina, the owner makes all the flavors from scratch, and uses a variety of seasonal fruits. I have sampled many different flavors, and they are all wonderful. I always put extra crème on mine. The facility is located in Braunfels Haus apartments, where Naturally the café used to be. There is enough parking, and an outdoor seating area. Note– they have hooks outside to attach your dog leash.

Cute local spot, great flavors… sweet staff. One negative note would be the ant problem but perhaps that’s under control… I haven’t been in a few months. The ants were outside and of course there is dripping snow cone everywhere but it makes it very hard to sit and enjoy your treat with ants crawling on your feet.

I have loved snow cones since I was a child. So when I found out about this place I was excited! There are lots of snow cone places but NONE are like this one! I have been a loyal customer from the beginning when they started in an airstream(my fave too) in Gruene. Every flavor I have tried has never disappointed! My son and I come here as often as we can to devour whatever weekly flavor is in season. However our ultimate favorite is the pumpkin spice. Move over Starbucks because I will take a Pumpkin Spice over you every day! Marshmallow drizzled on top? Heck yes! Thank you Gina for always being such a friendly and accommodating owner. We don’t come as often now that they are a little further, but when we do it’s like coming home! So quit going to the everyday run of the mill snow cone places and come check out Gourmet Ice Company! You won’t regret it!

Wow! The flavor combos at this place are amazing! My favorite was watermelon basil and blueberry pomegranate. They don’t use artificial flavoring or color which made the flavors even more refreshing than the usual sugary syrups. I typically have to order sugar free which normally limits me to grape or orange but this place had sugar free mango habanero with agave. Holy crap! Best and most unique shaved ice I’ve ever had. Wish they had an Austin location.

I am addicted to this place. Like I have craving for their snow cones at this very moment. I have been a handful of times, and each time the flavors change. The owner is adorable, and she has her Airstream stationed right outside a Harley Davidson shop. you can’t miss it. All of the syrups are homemade and natural. No dyes or preservatives here, and she uses all the seasons finest pickings to inspire her new flavor creations. As per the Unilocal app, I was able to get a flight of FOUR4oz cups for $ 4(usually a flight of 3 for $ 4). Awesome! The stand out BYFAR was the grapefruit and rosemary. OMG. Sooooo good. We also tried the mango habanero, lime, and hibiscus mint. All were good, especially when you get down to the bottom where all the juices are concentrating and the ice softens up. Yummy. A lot of people rave about the green tea vanilla, and I agree that it’s good, but there are so many other interesting flavors that it makes it tough to choose.

Flights in general make me a happy person. A flight of snow cones made me downright giddy. I like options people! After half the day at Schlitterbahn we were looking for something refreshing and boy did we find it. The Gourmet Ice CO is located up 1288 Loop 337 on a grassy area in front of the Gruene Harley Davidson in a cool little Airstream. The flavors were written out in front of the truck and they all sounded great. There were plenty of options from strawberry to mango habanero. They have something for the adventurous to the plain Jane’s. I was really intrigued by the snow cones syrups being homemade and all natural. I ended up choosing the sweet tea, cucumber lime and pomegranate blueberry. The sweet tea was my favorite. Tasted just like my momma’s sun brewed tea. The cucumber lime was so good as well. I added the chili powder to it and it was just like having a cucumber cup. The pomegranate blueberry was so fresh. You could defiantly tell this was natural and made from real fruit The server was amazingly friendly and was helpful with all the questions I had. I’m looking forward to are next visit to New Braunfels. Probably make a special trip just to involve the Gourmet Ice CO. BTW Great prices! $ 4 for 3, 4oz cups in the flight!

I guess I should start by saying that I have no problem consuming large amounts of shaved ice from any location. However, it is refreshing to know that Gourmet Ice Co’s flavors are all made from natural ingredients and it can’t hurt that all the flavors I’ve tried taste amazing. Sweet tea w/lemon is probably my favorite at this point, but I’m just at the tip of the iceberg as far as flavor combos go. Pomegranate Blueberry, Key Lime Pie, Lemon/Lime, Hibiscus Mint, and Green Tea Vanilla were all tasty as well. I’m looking forward to getting back to New Braunfels soon for another flight of new flavors.

I have a long, intense love affair with snow cones that goes back to when I was a kid visiting my family in Laredo during the summer — to merely survive the heat, we needed to chase down the raspa truck. I now live in North Texas but like a swallow returning to Capistrano, I pilgrimage each spring to Central Texas in search of rivers and snow cones to luxuriate in. This year I was lucky enough to return to NB for the official start of summer, and was delighted to try my friend’s new snow cone truck. People. These were NOT the snow cones of my youth. In the best way possible. No artificial anything, no day-glo colors(really, in what universe is a coconut blue?), and no added HFCS. My husband, daughter, brother, sister-in-law and I tried as many flavors as we could. I started out with a flight of hibiscus mint(light and refreshing), caramel apple(melt-your-face incredible), and strawberry basalmic(delightful with a hint of darkness). The hubs and my nugget shared the mango habanero, which was beautiful, and tasted like real mangos. Actually, they ALL tasted like the real thing, because they ARE the real thing. They’re made thoughtfully and responsibly by the owners, and we chatted about their process. Gina and Dustin have a child close in age to mine, so I know that they’re thinking about what they’re putting in their own bodies as well as their child’s. Knowing that these snow cones are the real deal, I have to say that I feel much more comfortable letting my daughter enjoy this celebration of summer in a cup. After the flight sampler I went back and tried my old standby — tiger’s blood and cream. It was the best thing I have ever tasted, and you better believe I will be returning each trip home to try all their flavors.

We stopped by Saturday morning and were so impressed we had to stop by again before we left town that afternoon. Over the course of our two stops, we did three flights and one medium sweet tea w/lemon. I personally love the flights for the variety. We tried raspberry, sweet tea(with and without lemon), lemon-lime, blueberry pomegranate, hibiscus mint, key lime pie, green tea vanilla and watermelon basil. The best part about these homemade, all-natural syrups is that they really taste like what they say! No artificial flavoring so the watermelon basil tastes like a watermelon basil salad made with chunks of watermelon and freshly picked basil. Really fun flavors on a pile of cold shaved ice. What a wonderful addition to New Braunfels! We’ll be back many times this summer.
