Homewood Suites

I got here by accident. Workmen chased me out of my condo for a couple of days, ended up here because it was close to home. Very glad I came. I was a little worried because it’s right by one of the busiest freeways in the area, but was nice and quiet regardless.
The suite is set up like a small apartment. There’s a nicely appointed kitchen with a sink, dishwasher, two-​burner cooktop, microwave, and a full refrigerator. There’s two TV screens, one each in living and bed rooms. The living room is small but adequate. The bedroom has a king-​size bed I’m in love with, and the bath is well laid out.
I’m not much for exercise, didn’t try out the pool or exercise areas. They look adequate for those into such things.
There’s a complementary breakfast daily and evening snacks Monday through Thursday. Like most of such things, they’re handy but not exceptional.
To sum up: this place made me feel at home after I’d been rousted from my real one.

My review is very similar to previous reviews. Hotel is located in New Brighton which is a bit away from the twin cities which makes it quieter and less expensive. The staff was very friendly — front desk staff, cleaning staff, and dining room staff. Had several lengthy conversations with Todd the Hotel Mgr. The hot breakfast was usually pretty decent, and the weeknight food, beer, and wine are a great addition too — and all were free!
There’s a pool, a small business center with computers, and a weight/​exercise room.
What I haven’t said is that this is an extended stay hotel which means that for the price of a regular room anywhere else, you also get a room with a kitchen– full sized refrigerator, microwave, cooktop and granite countertop. The kitchen allows you to shop at a local grocery store and cook your own meals (save $$). They will even do a grocery store run for you.
Hint: use your AAA membership and save.

While this hotel is located in an odd location, I can’t say enough good things about it. I’ve stayed here on several occasions. The staff has always been friendly — front desk staff, cleaning staff, and dining room staff. The hotel has always been quiet and clean. The hot breakfast is usually pretty decent, and the weeknight food, beer, and wine are a great addition too. Did I mention the DVDs? Not all Homewood Suites have DVD players, but this one does. This allows you to bring movies with you, or if you don’t have any, there’s a decent selection down near the front desk that you can check out. It’s little perks like this that make it a great option for a hotel in the Twin Cities.

On a recent stay, we were allowed a late check out. It made for an extra special stay. I cannot say enough good things about this extended stay hotel and the staff. Kudos!

I stayed here for a work trip and I was very pleased with everything this hotel had to offer. The staff is very friendy. Rooms were clean and we’ll maintained, not to mention a delicious breakfast AND dinner (Mon-​Thu) plus the location is amazing, being a runner there are trails right across the street with beautiful lakes to run along. Great experience!

I stayed here while in the area for work and had an acceptable experience. The hotel is fairly new so the rooms are in good shape. Like all Homewoods, the hotel serves a free breakfast and evening reception. I don’t usually do the evening reception but any time I went down there, it seemed like there was a decent selection of food and free beer and wine. There is not much in the immediate area, but quite a few restaurants deliver to the hotel so you aren’t stuck with just reception food if you don’t feel like going out. The staff here were super nice and helpful with recommendations.
Pro-​tips: if you’re sensitive to noise, ask for a room on the west side of the hotel as the east side faces the freeway. There is a side entrance on the east that is really close to the elevator, so that’s the best parking.

I’ve been here for work for 6 weeks. The staff is nice and so are the rooms. It has been quiet every night. I would definitely stay here again.

I decided to check out this extended stay hotel during my temporary housing. Well, location is a bit out there from MSP area. However, it makes up with the amenities. Here are some big pluses at Homewood Suites New Brighton.
DINING BUFFET ****
The staff serves a light dinner from Mon through Thurs at 5:00 until 7:00 PM. This makes for a perfect end to your busy day. You can count on a pretty nice salad bar with a main dish. My only complaint during the week was the hot dog day– come on at least give us chili with it. The other nights were pretty decent– grilled chicken breast, shredded pork, and parmigiana chicken strips. Plus, you get a nice soup on the side like okara gumbo and tomato basil.
BREAKFAST BUFFET ****
It is at least a step up from Holiday Inn and Best Western. One day was pretty good with scrambled eggs. Another day had egg with ham on an english muffin:) Plus, there was a waffle maker as well as some mixed fruit. I am also glad the other days had plenty of yogurt since I missed it the first day.
SWIMMING POOL/​FITNESS ROOM ****
Wow, actually a reasonable sized pool to do laps. Also, there is a nice hot tub to soak in. Hotel pools near Woodbury and Oakdale have tiny pools. This is a biggie for me in my book. Fitness room is pretty large and nice set of weights. I also noticed a basketball court as well. Saw someone shoot some hoops.
1 KING BEDROOM SUITE ****
The advantage of getting this larger room is that it reminds you a your own home. The kitchen is full size with a large fridge and freezer. Also, there are two flat easy clean stove tops. I didn’t have time to clean my dishes and housekeeping had them cleaned that afternoon:) The living room has a sleeper sofa but didn’t use it. There are TVs in both living room and bedroom. The king bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was pretty nice but thought that the towels were a bit small. Finally, I found the larger towels stored just below the sink which is outside the bathroom.
BUSINESS ROOM ****
Copier/​fax make this one a bump up from others. Also, there were 2 PCs with a printer. No pens so I had to ask for one at the front desk.
DVD LIBRARY ****
Wow, you get to borrow DVDs (2 at a time) at the front desk. This is a major plus to be able to watch in your room. Selection is pretty decent– oldies as well as some new ones like Skyfall, Lord of the Rings, Bridemaids, etc.

We didn’t make reservations beforehand, but they were very accommodating. The service and hotel staff was outstanding! We were always, always greeted and spoken to with a smile. The suite was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The room itself was very nice and spacious and accommodated four adults comfortably.
This hotel is located about 20 minutes from Downtown Minneapolis. Good price for what you get. They offer complementary hot breakfast and dinner (from 5pm-​7pm). The menu changes daily. WiFi in rooms. Ample parking.
Some amenities include a swimming pool and hot tub, and a small fitness center.
We will definitely stay here when we are visiting Minneapolis. Great place to stay!
The only complaint: the pull out sofa bed mattress was uncomfortable, we felt the springs pressing against our backs.

An outstanding hotel and terrific staff. We spent 5 days there this March and to were very very pleased. The kitchen was well equipped. The room was very nice. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They were super accommodating. We will without any doubt stay there upon our next trip to MN. The only complaint was the pull out mattress was a bit uncomfortable, but then again it’s a pull out mattress.

Easy to U of M — about 10 minutes. Suggest that you use GPS all through the Twin Cities as the highways are all twisted.

New location so everything was very nice. I have stayed at Homewood suites and do enjoy their facilities. Staff was very friendly. You can do good at these locations, they have nice free dinners and a good breakfast. Changes every day so you will not get bored.

Brand new and really nice! The staff was very friendly and the beds were comfy with lots of pillows! I dropped off a star because there aren’t any restaurants or stores within walking distance, but they are within a short drive. Also, they don’t have in-​room movies, which means no ExerciseTV, which I enjoy doing in my room after a long day of traveling. However, they do have a DVD player in the living room which would lead me to believe they have DVDs for you to borrow from the front desk. Not sure on that one, though.
