Ice cream was expensive. Ordered the salted caramel, but it did not say on the board it had nuts in it. I am not allergic, I jusr don’t like them in ice cream. Brought it back after tasting. They offered me another flavor. I asked if the one with cinnamon had nuts in it as the board didn’t say it did. Unfortunately it had pecans. So i asked for cookies and cream which did not have nuts. My wife had black raspberry, and my granddaughter had mint chocolate chip. We did not finish our ice cream as it was nothing to write home about, good thing we ordered smalls. I understand that something labeled maple walnut, ot Nutella would have been made with nuts, but they should be careful. What if someone with an allergy did order the same as I did. They should notate the flavors that contain nuts. For the record my granddaughter ate most of her’s, she is 3 years old so she is not concerned about the price.

Great ice cream! We had salted Carmel and Mocha. Both were good but we both liked the salted Carmel with hot Carmel sauce best.

Very good job of fixing up this old building. The line was out the door and into the parking lot on a hot Sunday. It was not moving. When we got further up we saw that people were asking for free samples and holding up the line. Then we noticed that young girls were trying to scoop into rock hard ice cream while grown men were on the register. To speed things up they may want to swap this up so the ice cream gets scooped faster. The ice cream was very good, no doubt about that. But $ 8 for 2 small cups(2 tiny scoops in each) is ridiculous pricing. Carvel is better ice cream and a LOT cheaper. Cute that they offer Avery soda.

The line was long when we entered the dairy barn but they move it along fast! I tried the Newington Nutella and it was delish! Not too strong of a flavor. Yummy! The service was great too! What more can you ask for?! I’ll be back!

I heard about this place recently and thought that it was cool that someone decided to put a new ice cream parlor on this location for the first time in over 10 years after Guida’s ice cream closed down. The inside and outside of the building are very nice. upon looking at the menu I noticed that there was not a very large amount of flavors to choose from even though they were named after things in New Britain and surrounding towns. I chose a small cup of heavenly chocolate and Plainville peanut butter, the ice cream was delicious but the price $ 3.99 for a small cup of ice cream is a little high and that is the reason why I gave only three stars. Also the guy who rang up my ice cream could not be bothered to say much to me other than how much the ice cream cost and from the look on his face and his body language it seemed he really did not want to be there. The bottom line is the ice cream here is good but the prices are too high for the amount you get so I probably won’t return here until they lower the prices. I don’t see how this place is going to stay in business charging those prices considering that most of New Britain’s citizens are lower class people.

This is five-star ice cream, without a doubt. Though as of right now, Frisbie’s gets a four-star review, because it was a bit disappointing to hear they were out of several flavors. And when a shop serves twenty flavors, which is frankly less than your typical ice cream shop(Praline’s has over 50), there’s clearly some kinks to work out. I understand the growing pains of a new business, so I’m hoping to come back and find all flavors available. Yes, the Newington Nutella was absolutely sensational. While not very dark in color, the flavor is the same hazelnut/chocolate mind bomb that hits the tongue like a tab of culinary LSD. What a wonderful choice, never had anything like it. I wanted the pistachio initially, but they were out… perhaps next time. It’s hard not to notice that next to the ice cream shop, they built a new cheap gas station right at the Farmington border. Guess what? Same ownership. Talk about your business diversification. As a matter of fact, one of the partners, Abdul, stopped to talk to us for a moment and ask our ice cream was. Very nice of him to do so. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating here. Just a few little edges to round off, and this place will be perfect.

Two words: Newington Nutella Finally, a real homemade ice cream shop has opened! I only discovered this place yesterday on Unilocal and last night, my husband and I took a drive over to see if it was too good to be true. With a brand new building next to a brand spankin’ huge gas station next door, this new business is refreshing to see on the New Britain/Farmington border. I loved how Frisbie’s named their flavors after neighboring towns, as well local and state icons. Though many flavors had run out, I decided on scoop of Newington Nutella and a scoop of Cinnamon Bun on a waffle cone. Bong! It was love at first sight with the Newington Nutella! My sweetheart copied me and also had a teeny tiny scoop of Newington Nutella, which I ended up finishing! Another warm feature was there were many Adirondack chairs outside to enjoy ice cream comfortably. If the weather is bad, inside is spacious and well-decorated. In term of price, it is not cheap, but not as expensive as Ben and Jerry’s scoop shop. Soon they will be offering food too!

Another wonderful addition to the city, Frisbie’s has cute country farmhouse architecture inside and out and plenty of picnic table seating right outside. They even have an ordering window by the picnic tables for those of you who don’t want to order inside. Good variety of flavors, similar to ones you see at any other ice cream place. Moose tracks, cookie monster, double fudge, and the works… One fist sized scoop of nutella ice cream in a cup was plenty for me. Priced around $ 3.50 I’d say is the typical pricing. A bit on the overpriced side. Customer traffic kept at a fast moving pace as workers attended to everyone. A lot of their flavors in the display were out but luckily they said they had more in stock in the back. My nutella ice cream didn’t taste much like nutella. I’ll have to try a different flavor next time.

Ok… So I figured I’d give a try because what the heck right? It’s actually right where the old Guidas used to be, so maybe, this may be something worth trying… So I tried it! And boy did they TRYIT with me! First of all… The prices… I mean reallyBut that’s not what even bothered me. What bothered me was the fact that 3 times I tried to order my ice cream, and 3 times did my order come back to me a #fail. First time I ordered they didn’t have the flavor I wanted… Ok so let me try something else, no big. My second order ended up going to the girl next to me… Really? That’s my cake cone but I’ll let that slide. So I decided to go with a «just enough» size of Heath bar and mint chocolate chip… Question. When does heathbar flavored ice cream ever have a coffee ice cream base??? Tastes ALOT like chocolate mocha chunk to me, but that’s not my business. Anyway, so in my third attempt to right the wrong I ask the owner if I can please replace the coffee Heath ice cream, with pistachio. Why is it that the ice Cream comes back as maple walnut??? I can’t with them! I’ll just stick to my pralines! This ice cream is NOT worth the hassle. *drops the mic, walks off soapbox*

This is a new business with a potentially bright future. It is too early to tell. The ice cream is good but the group of three people that I was with all agreed that the price was too high for the quantity and quality that you got. Don’t get me wrong, the ice cream was good. And the toppings were good. It is just that the ice cream was just good, nothing special. And the three scoops of ice cream all fit in a rather small Dixie cup. From this experience, I would just have to say that this will most likely be our last visit to this establishment until prices approach the quantity value of products served. You will have to determine the value personally…

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The place is brand new, so it is impecable. Homey and clean, with a slew of flavors to try. We had the Newington Nutella, plainville peanut butter, and cake betterson park. To name just a few, they were all quite good with distinct tones of each significant flavor. Definitely a place to visit to have a refreshing and delicious treat. Best wishes to the new business, bringing back a nostalgic tone to an old city Favorite and icon.
