They make a classic central CT Greek style pie. Crust is good, nice and crisp. For thin crust fans drive to New Haven, even better than NY. The staff are friendly. They are spot on with timing. When they say 20 minutes they mean it, unlike some other places. Good value too.

Best italian combo grinder I have had. Get it toasted. They also have beer here. Nice people and good food.

Pizza Pal is not exactly about to throw their hat into the Wooster Street ring, but my experience still earns them some credit. I’m just not a big fan of thicker crust pizza. Though usually it’s because the final product is a giant slice of dense bread with a smattering of cheese and sauce. Ugh… drives me nuts. But applaud Pizza Pal for at least getting their proportions right. They put a LOT of cheese on their pies here, enough to generally warrant the thicker-than-average crust below it. That said, I wish the crust was a little less dense, and the cheese less burnt [Burnt crust is good, cheese… not so much], but they’re still a thumbs up in my book. I strolled in a solid 90 minutes after they ordinarily stop serving slices(3PM), but they happened to have 2 left, which were warmed up and served promptly to me. $ 6 and change for two hefty slices and a Snapple. A good lunch, especially for poverty-laden New Britain.

I decided to order pizza from here since it had been many years since I last had pizza from here, So I did take out on a Friday night. I called around 7:05pm to place my order a small cheese pizza under the name Alex. After leaving work I go there to pick it up and when I get to the counter I tell them my name and what I ordered and they told me that we do not have a small cheese pizza under the name Alex, the man behind the counter asked me if I called pizza palace but I read him the phone number on a piece of paper I had and It was their phone number. I thought was odd that they did not have my pizza there when I came to pick it up, so the cook asked me if I wanted him to make it now and wait 15 minutes and I said yes because I had the choice of waiting there or waiting for another pizza parlor to make it so why not just get it here. I got the pizza and was charged $ 9.31 which I feel is alot for a small cheese pizza. The pizza was good but not worth what I paid so I probably won’t be returning here.

I live in NJ and to this day still travel 2.5 hour to eat here. This is my favorite pizza spot in the whole world. I was born in the area and it bring back so many memories as a child. They recently renovated the place and it almost brought tears to my eyes when they did. Wish they had left it exactly as they had it with the small jukeboxes next to every table. Glad the pizza recipe is exactly the same. When I eat here, I eat like it’s my last meal. So tasty and delicious! Taste way better than any NY slice of Pizza hand down.

Great food, nice staff. This is our go-to pizza joint when we are too lazy to make dinner. I usually get a salad, which are always fresh and accompanied by bread which is also always fresh. My husband gets pizza or a calzone, and it comes piping hot and delicious. Sometimes we will split a grinder for lunch, they are big enough to fill us both up. But the best thing on the menu is the mozzarella sticks. They are ginormous! I’m perfectly happy with two or three cheese sticks and a side salad for dinner. Yum!

If you go home hungry from Pizza Pal, then there is something wrong. The variety on the menu along with specials on the board offer some great meals. Lately there have been mac and cheese bites offered… OMG they are to die for. The owner and staff are friendly, courteous and professional. Remember the commercial that said«try it you’ll like it»? Well — you be the judge.

Love this place. Pizzas are consistently good. Another review mentioned that they are Greek style and that is true; you’re not going to find anything like an NY thin crust anywhere near here. That said, the hybrid between thin crust and pan pizza can be a welcome addition to any pizza rotation. I actually come here for the grinders(subs, hoagies– whatever). The bread is always fresh and crusty, and the fillings are generous. I ordered a cheeseburger grinder that was chock full of(perfectly cooked to rare) beef and desired toppings. My $ 12.75 grinder was worth ever penny. Additionally, I always order and then sit at the counter to enjoy a beer while my food is being prepared. This place has some of the friendliest staff around, and they’re always happy to make conversation. Pizza Pal is a dependable spot for good pizza, grinders, and friendly staff.

Decent take out pizza. Greek Style, can get soggy in the middle if you load it with too many toppings(special). Otherwise a great go-to place.

Take Out Pizza! As a server myself, most late nights usually come down to either a) a pre-planned refrigerated dinner, b) Burger King or Arby’s, or c) go hungry. Thats when we found Pizza Pal. Easy take out, decent food, and open late. Small pizzas are perfect sizes for individuals.
