Wing It On!

Decided to try Wing It On when it first opened and have been a frequent customer ever since. The wings are not too greasy and have just the right amount of crispness to them. Sauces are not too overwhelming and have just the right flavor as well. On the boneless side of wings, when you order them, expect to get large pieces of tenderloins and not dinky little strips. I generally order the 5 strip meal but 3 will fill me up along with their paremesan garlic fries. The best thing about this place is you don’t have to wait for a weekend for them to be open late as they are generally open late anyways. Nothing beats coming home from work late and still being able to order delivery from them. The food is amazing, the service is excellent and in my opinion WIO is much better than Wings, Sliders and Hooters in terms of food quality. I highly recommend WIO to anyone wanting to try it as they wont be dissapointed when it comes to food quality. The only downside about this place is sometimes it’s hard to pick which flavor you want to have as there are quite a bit of delicious flavors to pick from.

Took an 1 ½ for delivery horrible customer service. Buffalo Mac & cheese is god awful too.

Visited wing it on today with my family and some relatives. They were really friendly to the young kids and offered them bracelets and to let us put something different on the tv since they weren’t busy at 2:30pm. Staff went out of their way to get us hot water to heat up a bottle for our 6 month old. The food was hot and fresh and the chicken tastes great! We ordered boneless wings with sauce on the side and fries. Everyone seemed pleased with their food and I will definitely return when I’m back in the area and looking for tasty boneless wings and friendly service!

I’m not one to write negative reviews. But this bad experience I had with wing it on pertains to the new Britain location. For the first year I’ve ordered food to be delivered to my job. And never had problems. Food is always good. But my experience yesterday was unacceptable. I ordered my food around dinner time. 5:30. I was quoted a total 10.53 which included the delivery charge. Ok it was out of area but no problem right? After an hour the food shows up. I’m ready to pay the guy. He tells me $ 13.85. I was like what??? How is that much. He said oh it’s the delivery charge. Uhh no! I was quoted the 10.53. And that what I was expecting to pay. This guy could seem to care less about his job and said they’re was nothing he could do about it… Um yeah you can! I told him to take it back I’m not paying that price that and call his boss. And then oh his «boss «decides take $ 2 off his order… No I want to pay the price I was quoted. So he finally caved in I paid the guy. It’s not about the $ 3. It’s about the shitty service that set me off. I’m sorry but no one is gonna pull that crap with me. Don’t magically change your delivery charge and try to pass that on me. Will never order from here again after this experience.

We ordered food from here through Unilocal.They called to confirm the order stating that two orders had come through within ten minutes of each other. We confirmed we only placed one and the gentleman said he just started the order and would cancel the second order. After waiting about an hour we decided to call to check the status of the delivery and we were told that we cannot order through Unilocal and we must be wrong because she doesn’t have an order for Us. Frustrated, we hung up. The hostess called back apologized, retook the order And gave us our meal for free. I appreciate the effort, but clearly the behind house structure needs work and the food was below average.

I’ve been coming to this joint for a few months now and I can gladly recommend their food and service. Their wings are big and hearty and the sauces are incredibly tasty. Although they give you enough sauce, extra is always pleasant for your taste buds. You can’t go wrong with any of their selections.
Even their burger is big and light so you don’t feel like you hate half a cow like most burger joints. Oh and let’s not forget their Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese. This stuff is addicting! I do wish they added more chicken because it always seems like a scavenger hunt trying to find it. I mean you’re in a chicken wing joint, why skimp on that? Still not enough to take a star off, haha.
Last thing I wish they did was add condiment bottles and not small single serve packets. Not a big deal, but would be nice to have a feel that you’re in a restaurant ;)

This place has got great food and great service. We use grub hub to order and the food never takes an hour, always fresh and delicious. We love their boneless wings, garlic parm fries, cheddar core burgers. Basically nothing we have gonna has every sucked. If you live in New Britain you have to have this food and you will be hooked. We order at least once per week and are never disappointed.

Food was not good, delivery took an hour and a half, all the food was cold, bag was melted through, boxes were melted through, so the food was sitting. They brought new food for us but didn’t offer any money back or discount for there screw up. Would not recommend this place to anyone and won’t go back

The wings are okay for drunken nights. A little on the dry side when sober. The WIO Club Wrap is actually pretty impressive but whatever you do STAY AWAY from the Philly Wrap!!!
The wing flavors I’ve tried were the Jerk BBQ, and the Dirty rub. Jerk gets a ⁴⁄₅ rating and the Dirty rub gets a ²⁄₅.
Another WARNING!!! STAY AWAY FROM THE PHILLY WRAP!!! Much respect to the crew at WIO but damn that thing sucked big time! I’d rather resort to chewing on shoes than eating that again!

I finally got to check out Wing It On! after hearing about it for some time now, and I was pretty impressed! I wasn’t super hungry, but I definitely wanted to try their Red, White, and Blue Devil wings (see what they did there? Being so close to CCSU, home of the Blue Devils? Someone?)
Anyways, the combo of buffalo and blue cheese sauces together is by far my favorite wing flavor, and I’m surprised more places don’t marry those together in a wing. A little spicy, a little tangy, delicious! I know you can just order regular buffalo wings and dip them in blue cheese, but it’s just not the same!
I ordered 3 boneless wings and it was only about $ 4, which is a perfect snack size with a cheap price that I’m sure caters perfectly to broke college students.
Along with my wings, I tried some of their fried pickle chips which were pretty good, although I enjoyed dipping them in my blue cheese better than the chipotle ranch sauce it came with.
Being graduated from CCSU and not having to be on campus for really anything anymore, I won’t make the trip out just to go to Wing It On!, but I’m definitely a fan and will stop there again if I’m in the area!

We ordered an order of medium hot wings, an order of honey buffalo BBQ. And an order of sweet potato fries and fried jalapeño.
The wings were decent. Nothing to write home about. I was disappointed in the sauce. If you look at some reviews pictures on Unilocal of this places wings you’ll see they look saucy as hell and colorful with heat if you get me… Mine as you can see from the pics were dull in color and not as saucy as we thought.
The sweet potato fries and fried jalapeño… They packaged these things in the weirdest way possible. They just put the food in the little fry cartons then stacked them in a paper bag. This caused two issues. One the «fried» items were not hot upon arrival and the container on the bottoms had its contents squished. After a quick microwave the sweet potato fries were OK… Tasted like sweet potato fries what can I tell you. The fried jalapeño on the other hand… No flavor OTHER than jalapeño. The batter on it is supposed to add to it almost like a fried pickles. The very little batter that remained on the clearly brutally fried jalapeño was flavorless. Ate a few pieces and called it quits. Again hopes let down since I LOVE jalapeño.

I never really felt it necessary to review anything on Unilocal until now! We started going to Wing It On! the week it opened near CCSU. The food was great and cooked to order! I always grab the classic wings extra crispy, and extra sauce and they’re never short of amazing! They have a great selection of flavor that will definitely satisfy any palette but not too many that it seems excessive. Since day one their customer service has exceeded that of any other restaurant I’ve ever been too! Every one there is super friendly even when they are short staffed. At this point we’re pretty familiar with the staff there. Especially Nick, the cook! He’s amazing! At this point he knows my usual order and makes it to perfection every time! Food is always great when he’s at the grill! His friendliness and overall customer service are one of the main reasons I gave this place 5 stars! I would definitely, and I always do, recommend this place to any of my friends looking for great wings!

Having attended a Unilocal Elite event at Wing It On in Waterbury a while back I was happy to see this new location open in New Britain.
Based on their location adjacent to the CCSU campus and the high quality prep of their wings, they should do very well here.
You can look up my review of the Waterbury location for particulars but I am happy to say the New Britain location is just as good as the original.
I attended a birthday party with three flavors present: medium buffalo, honey bbq and ManGun. All were freshly prepared, very meaty and just as good as I remembered.
This is a big win for CCSU and the entire New Britain community at large. They will definitely provide some competition for the Wings Over chain here in CT.

Tried these guys for the first time late the other night-​delicious! Delivery took about an hour, but it was worth it. Good late night snack food for when you’re hungry after dinner or want a late Sunday lunch!
I got the caesar wrap (great size and delicious the next day too!) and the fried pickles which were so delicious, especially dipped in ranch.
My meal was simple, not much left to say besides worth the wait for delivery and worth ordering again! :)

Philly cheese sandwich but on their kaiser roll and fried pickle chips.
Would you like some pickles with that salt? Wowwwwww! Those pickle chips wear unbearable to eat. Anyone with high blood pressure should watch out with this spot.
The philly sandwich was ehhhhh okay. Well, when eating two of these items side by side obviously were nothing close to enjoyable.

I tried the grilled buffalo chicken wrap with chipotle ranch. It was Amazing, I highly recommend their wraps. I will be sure to try their wings next time I stop by.

Great place to go and hang out! Food is good and plenty of TV’s. I enjoy the Buffalo Chicken wrap and the store made Blue Cheese! The sauces are very tasty especially the Honey Heat for their crispy chicken wings!

Philly steak wasnt that good but the garlic parmesan fries yummy .and the chicken was fried perfect with tasty sauce. restaurant was clean owner polite to customers wait was long but i will be back nothing is perfect

Had a buffalo chicken wrap. Nothing special but it had diced celery in the wrap which I wasn’t a fan of. Does not come with fries

Okay product ordered twice from here was just okay didn’t really wow me. Had the Chipotle ranch wings and tried the Buffalo chicken mac and cheese.
