Can I just say how upset I was when I graduated and got a full-time job in somerset because I WASNOLONGERABLETOCOMETOJERSEYSUBS! These guys close at 4, and are not open on weekends but if you’re in the area on a weekday and want a huge delicious deli sandwich, this is the place for you!

Best deli. Great quality bread and meats. I love their toppings, the onions are those very thin-sliced sub onions. They have plenty of workers and are fast and friendly. The quality of the tuna is superb — I rarely get tuna salad anywhere but they use the white meat and it’s delicious. I also love their italian subs and roast beef. Even if there is a long line, it goes really fast.

Jersey Subs does everything right: good, fresh food at a fair price. My go-to is the soup/sandwich combo, about $ 8 and you have a delicious, filling lunch. Soup selection is great; at least one vegetarian option daily, as well as chowders, bisques, chicken noodle, etc. This place gets busy at prime lunch hours, but no worry – they work super-fast to keep the line moving(so it helps to know what you want to order ahead of time – you may get a little snark from the deli slicer guy if you stand around hemming and hawing – fair warning). It ain’t fancy, just plain good. A New Brunswick landmark!

Best subs I have ever had in New Jersey. Period! Always fresh, quick service, and friendly staff. What more could you ask for in a local deli?

Best chicken salad sandwich I’ve possibly ever had. On this cold and rainy day all I wanted was chicken noodle soup. I walked to jersey subs and am not disappointed. However the chicken salad sandwich absolutely blew me away. Highly recommend!

Tomorrow is my last day at my job in New Brunswick and one of the things that I’m going to miss most is Jersey Subs. The sandwiches and soups are awesome. But what makes this place truly special is the staff. Even when the line is wrapped around the restaurant, they work as the most efficient assembly line I’ve ever seen and have you out in only minutes. They are friendly and always greet you with a smile. Serving so many people each day they probably wouldn’t recognize me in the crowd(although I suspect they might just because they are that friendly!). However, the nicest thing I thought I could do as a proper goodbye was to give them a great rating. Enjoy the subs!

I just got my sub from there. Parking was risky because it’s by the campus. Wasn’t too crowded on a rainy wednesday around 1. I got the honey maple turkey. It’s great, I love it. They let me try it first. He sliced it for me. The half sub is big for me. I also got some chips. I am happy with it. :)

Honestly, I’m not really a big fan of subs … but whenever I’m craving for subs, this is the place! Well actually this is the place other than Subways and Jersey Mike’s for me! The place is almost always crowded … however the line is pretty quick. The staff works fast and efficient to get the line moving. Great subs, great prices, great portion! Try the pastrami with provolone! It’s so yummy! Fresh bread, fresh meat! They have a pretty balance meat /bread ratio but I still wish they put a bit more meat on my sandwich. Not their fault tho’. It’s just me, I eat more meat that average people.

The value here is unreal. The bread is fresh, the meats are sliced to order and premium quality, and the toppings make the sandwich. This place got me hopelessly obsessed with sweet pickled cherry peppers. Consistently fantastic sandwiches that are always worth the wait!

I came here for some subs a few times. the food is taste and tastes fresh. Well, at least the vegetables. i have to give that to them. this outstrips subway by a huge margin and the only real competitor is jimmy johns. one of the best sub places in jersey. half star less star because the meat tasted a bit old. not expired meat but probably sat at the counter instead of a fridge for a few days. another half star because the store closes at 4pm and doesn’t even open on weekends. I wish them the best in sustaining profits.

fast, assembly line service and great value for the subs makes jersey subs another add to the lunch rotation. I’ve tried the basic turkey, egg salad, chicken salad, and chef salad, and all were very good. the chef salad is a great lunch deal, since it comes with more than enough ham, turkey, and cheese to make it very filling. the bread is also very fresh, and there are tons of toppings include hot peppers, sweet peppers, and pickles. the sandwich makers are not stingy but keep the sandwiches balanced. subs are available in half or whole sizes and they frequently feature a special deal of the day.

Hugely popular lunch spot. I love the tuna and the Jersey’s Best. …and they’re generous with the meat! Not a great place to dine in, but perfect to grab ‘n go. Their lunch team is unfathomably efficient(friendly too). They’re like a factory assembly line. The guy who works the meat slicer, non-stop, probably has a cyborg Terminator arm. Best subs in town, so «I’ll be back!»

A very popular sub shop on George St. The lines get long however the staff works very quickly and efficiently. The highlight of the shop is the sandwiches… simply put probably one of… if not the best deli sandwiches I’ve tried. Recommend the Jersey Super or Jersey Best, the combo meat subs are my favorite

Amazing subs! They also have great homemade soups. Not only does it taste so good but it’s also very reasonably priced. If only they were open later and on weekends.

I have seen this pop up on Unilocal for a long time and since I was walking by I decided to stop in for once since the reviews said they were quick even during the lunch rush. Well that is true for sure. I was in and ordered and the line kept moving along. Sub was great. I would give it 5 stars but I am usually not a fan of the softer bread and like a crustier roll(maybe I picked the wrong one?). Heaps of meat and shredded lettuce and oil/vinegar just right. I got the special, but will probably come back again for a classic italian sub since that is usually my benchmark. People were friendly, and it had a real local feel. If someone was visiting for another part of the country, this would be a great place to show them something with that Jersey feel to it. Fast, no-nonsense service but friendly at the same time.

Delicious, fresh subs, nice people and reasonable prices. Was I blown away? No. But happy. Odd tables — the attached chairs are somewhat to the side of the actual table. But it’s clean and I’d happily go back.

This place is awesome! I went there the second day it opened and they were so friendly and excited to get the place going. I have been there several times and I have never been disappointed. I never go to Subway anymore, since their subs are soggy and gross. This place puts effort into making the subs just the way you want it. If you don’t want any of their pre-made subs or want changes on a sub, they will do it. Also, they will let you know of any deals they have(usually a drink comes with your meal, or it was for a small amount more — maybe $ 1). Great Lunch Spot! They have limited seating downstairs, but they also have quite a bit of space upstairs to relax and eat. Both upstairs and downstairs have TVs. Although, downstairs is rather uncomfortable to sit at if there is a crowd of people around. Excellent staff, excellent food!

I came to this place because a friend recommended it. Walked in and seemed like a cozy little sub shub. It was pretty packed as we went around lunch but service was fairly quick. The quality of the sandwich is better than Subway, hands down. The meat tasted fresh and so did all the other ingredients. Would recommend this place over Subway even though the sandwiches aren’t as big

Been coming to Jersey Subs for years now. I don’t get to go much because its only open during the week and closes at 4:30pm. So the only way to go is if you’re home for a day or working in New Brunswick. This is the only negative about this place. The sandwiches are all delicious and can be put up against best subs in the northeast. I always get the Italian hoagie with everything on it. It seems to get better each time if that’s even possible. The greatest part about this place is that no matter how long the line is, you’ll be in and out within 5 minutes. They have one of the most efficient processes you’ll ever see and the guy who actually cuts the meat and slices the bread is a true pro. You only have to tell him once what you want and he nails it. The rest of the people throw on the toppings, wrap it and its at the register only seconds after you order it. The meat is all fresh and sliced right in front of you. Just awesome. There is no where else in New Brunswick to go for a sandwich. If you do go anywhere else you’re wasting your time. Again, its only open Monday — Friday from 9:30 to 4:00, so get here if you can and be prepared to have one of the best sandwiches you”ll ever have.
