Jimmy John’s is a sandwich(sub) shop in downtown New Brunswick(and all over the country). They will deliver for a fee, but this is a college town — looks like plenty of people take advantage of their self-proclaimed«serious delivery.» They have a small number of sandwiches and a small number of ingredients, which is why they are able to put your sandwiches together so quickly. It also makes ordering easy. You don’t have a hundred options; you have about 20. But here’s the cool thing: First, if you want, they hollow out the bread. So there’s less bread, and your sandwich doesn’t goosh out all over the place. OR(cooler yet), for low carb or Passover eating, you can order any of their sandwiches as an «Unwich.» Meaning, no bread — they wrap it in lettuce leaves. I don’t even like lettuce, but they use fresh, crunchy Romaine and it’s super filling, crunchy, cool and delicious. I love bread, but trust me: you don’t even miss the bread. Finally, the first time I ate a JJ’s sub I went back that same afternoon to order for my whole family. All agreed: delicious, simple, and fresh fresh fresh. Also? Their prices are very reasonable. My only word of caution: Once you have a JJ’s sub, you’ll want one every day. Try the Unwich. It rocks.

worst club sandwich I’ve ever eaten threw more than half away, wouldn’t feed it to a starving dog don’t think he would have touched it mostly lettuce. never in my life have i ever had a club without bacon but at least the mayo had flavor so i guess thats why they charged so much $ 9.00 plus and didn’t even toast the bread which was whole wheat(white) what a sham I’m never going back id rather eat dog food

Great sandwiches, and super fast delivery. My personal faves are the vito or Italian night club, their tuna salad(which is homemade and really is good), and I love love love their house made whole wheat bread. I can’t really say much else, but it definitely beats subway. When I can’t think of what else to eat for lunch, I end up ordering Jimmy John’s.

this place, I heard was great with subs. Everything I heard is fresh. This place does not lie. The food taste fresh. The tuna is great. All the add-ons combined with the food is great. The only downside is that the add-ons, called«freebies» taste processed for a chain that loves to consider freshness its importance. Other than that, pay a visit, if you can get through the bad parking in new brunswick. Be sure to bring quarters to ward away the meter maids.

Great sub place. By far better than Subway. Their cookies are amazing. I always enjoy coming here whenever I get a chance. The parking situation around this area is bad since its near the hospital. But that isn’t their fault. Great, fast service. Overall, great sub place overall.

Really like this establishment, makes it very for a college student to eat good food, with a great price, and with great convenience. What I believe really sets Jimmy John’s apart is the convenience; I feel as if the minute I put down my phone from ordering off the website(which is also very easy to use) I get a call from the delivery person saying they are at my dorm with my order. Great place, great food runners, will order a thousand more times before I graduate from Rutgers.

Good for a quick bite. This is surprisingly my first experience with Jimmy John’s. All of my friends from South Jersey have been raving about this place and it definitely deserves praise. Don’t go in expecting some gourmet sandwich filled to the brim with braised pork shoulder that’s been simmering for 300 hours with a soy miso glaze. This place is no frills fast food. Freaky fast if I may say ;) Food: #1 Pepe — The bread is key to this whole set up. A good roll with a nice chewy exterior. I cringed a little inside when I saw them scoop out bread from the middle of my roll, but i definitely think it improved the overall bread to meat ratio which was ONPOINT. Service: Not much to say since it’s a takeout joint mostly, but they’re VERY fast. I turned to pay the cashier and when I turned around again my sandwich was ready. Bottom line: Good quick sandwich joint. Come in for lunch, but probably not your first date ;)

I wouldn’t even consider getting a deli type of sandwich from anywhere else in New Brunswick. My sister was a bit skeptical of the place, but once I took her with me, and she secretly fell in love(like squidward when he tried his first krabby patty). She kept acting all weird said it was«ok» when we left, but a few weeks later she told me she started getting it delivered every week. Essentially what I’m trying to say is, if you’re reading Unilocal reviews for JJ’s, you’re wasting your time. It’s good. And your delivery probably would have been at your front door 5 minutes ago if you weren’t wasting time on Unilocal. FYI the cookies they have are really good if you microwave them for ~10−15 seconds. (Team Beach Club)

Got a platter. Clean fresh and delicious! Love the bread! They also have a lettuce wrapped option. The tuna is my favorite. Their chips however are a bit on the pricey side.

Jimmy John’s — yum! My favorites are the Vito and Turkey Tom. Save room for a whole pickle and chocolate chunk cookie. The staff are great at this location!

When we moved away from New Brunswick, the first thing I started to miss was Jimmy John’s. First time back in over a year and after tasting countless turkey sandwiches from all over the east coast, I am convinced that Jimmy John’s makes the best of them. The gold is in the bread, which they hollow out so it never gets soggy. Sandwiches are such a simple concept and, while JJ doesn’t complicate them, they clearly have them down to a science. The result is a perfect all-American sandwich. I’ll be back soon!

Jimmy John’s sandwiches are great, I love ‘em.(+1 Star) The people working at this Jimmy John’s are fun and make me enjoy coming in even more… and true to their marketing, they are FAST(+1 Star) I live like 5 miles down Easton Ave. and they refuse to deliver to me. This is a huge blow due to inconvenience(–2 Stars). I can’t give a chain restaurant who prides itself on quick delivery 3 stars when they don’t deliver to me but I could drive there in 5 minutes(–1 Star). 2 Stars! All in all, I’ve had much better experiences with other Jimmy John’s that actually deliver their food to my door — which is one of the better parts about this franchise. It’s supposed to be cheap, fast, and delicious… which unfortunately for those living a hop, skip, and jump away from this place can only experience by going there themselves.

A dainty sandwich shop tucked in downtown New Brunswick that stays open later than some of the other shops but the best part is quick delivery! Most their deliveries come via bike, so they’ll have a sandwich to you in under 15 minutes if you’re within area or near Rutger’s campus. Excellent place to order party trays from with a wide selection of sandwich options. And if you get the opportunity to stop in, they’ve got some hilarious wall décor for your entertainment.

The food is extremely fresh and reasonably priced. They also deliver really quickly(delivered to my door in about 15 minutes). We cater from there a lot and the platters are really good(doesn’t lose quality in bulk).

So I toyed with the idea of giving Jimmy Johns 4 or 5 stars. This is one of the few times I wish there were half stars because I could easily give it 4.5. The people there have always been nice, very friendly. When you order from there, they take like 15 minutes or less to deliver, I remember one time I ordered some sandwiches with my roommates and we were floored that shortly after they were here with our food. The food is pretty damn amazing, and I think in a world where you can flambé your fruit loops at some of these fancy places something simple is much appreciated. There doesn’t seem to be anything special about their sandwiches besides being made with some good ingredients and love. Which defiantly show up in the flavor. Well maybe there isn’t any love in it, but the ingredients defiantly are a factor. I have to say I’m so enamored by Jimmy Johns that I decided if I ever won the lotto I added a franchise on my list of things I would purchase because I think they are that awesome! Oh if I had to say one bad thing about JJ’s it would be that their cookies are more calories then there basic sandwiches that was kind of a disappointment, I would totally rather eat a second sandwich for the calories.

You guys kidding with the high reviews? This place tries SO hard in in-store appearance and humor and trying to seem so legit, when they should cut the crap and put their effort in their subs. When I walked in, I couldn’t believe the 8″ sub for under $ 5. It all made sense after I ordered – 1 slice of meat? hahahahahaha, this is Jersey, fellas. Get out of here with that garbage. Wawa can produce a much better sub. And for a dollar more, Jimmy John’s offers double the meat! OHMYGOD, two slices in a sub?! Get out. The only reason we stopped in here was because our favorite sub shops were closed because of New Years Day.

I love everything about this place. Nothing impresses me more than efficiency, and this place embodies that. When you walk in and place your sandwich order with toppings, there are people behind the counter literally putting the sandwich together as you verbalize each topping. So once you’re done ordering and paying, the sadnwich is already wrapped and ready to go for you. I’ve been in and out of this place in 45 seconds one time… Ridiculous. Because this is their process of taking orders, the delivery process is just as fast. When i order a sandwich with their app, it’s usually at my door within 5 – 6 minutes of me pressing the order button. Makes for a great lazy saturday or sunday option. The sandwiches are also delicious and fresh. While nothing beats some of the italian deli’s in NYC, this place has really good sandwiches for a chain restaurant and it taste very fresh. The giant tuna club is my favorite there. They don’t go light on the tuna, so you’re get your money’s worth and you get it fast! Love this place.

What makes a Jimmy John’s sandwich so good? I don’t know. I tried to remake one at home and it did not compare. I first had Jimmy John’s when I was walking around New Brunswick and an employee was giving out free samples of small sandwiches. It was a ham sandwich and I normally am not a fan of ham or tomato(the sandwich) had both, but it was really good. Next time I passed through New Brunswick, I made sure to stop for one. They freshly slice the meat and this really does make a difference. All the other ingredients are also extremely fresh and you can actually taste this in the sandwich. I think what makes these things so good is this freshness along with the amazing bread. The price is also awesome. Definitely better than subway and other sandwich/sub chains.
