This was my first, and now last, time at this restaurant. I went with my boyfriend for lunch, he’s been there plenty of times before and said it was a nice place with good food. This may have been true the last time he went(which I know was months ago if not longer), but was not true this time. We were seated rather quickly, which was nice. It was quiet with only a few other patrons. Our waitress was very pleasant when taking our drink order. The menu isn’t all that fantastic, but I never expected much from a diner. Prices, however, were a little steep. Biggest problem I had with this restaurant was that what we ordered was wrong. The appetizer sampler was not what it said it would be on the menu. It was said to come with mozzarella sticks, potatoes skins, chicken fingers and onion rings. We were not given onion rings and we were shorted on the amount of the other pieces on the platter. Our food was warm not hot and very dry as if it sat out under a heat lamp. After the food was delivered it seemed the waitress vanished and we waited 20 minutes or so for refills. My meal was the cheese steak hoagie and my boyfriend got the mixed up cheese steak. Both dishes were good, but being they were not hot and poorly made, they could’ve been better. I will say, aside from not being hot, the fries were awesome. I love battered fries, very crispy. My meal was to come with soup and a salad, but I never recieved either. Not until after, when I asked the waitress. She did apologize and got me my soup to go, I said nevermind on the salad. The soup I got was beef barley. Awful, just awful. Not one bite of beef and too salty. I know soup is to have a bit of salt, but I’m talking all salt no flavor. All in all, I could’ve had a better experience. Would I try it again? Only if I was being treated. Honestly though, I doubt I’ll go back.

I like the Golden Dove. The prices are great and the portions are greater lol. When I’m there, I always get their breakfast. One of the few resturants serve scrapple!

I live right down the street, and come here often. This place is hit or miss. I’m here on a Saturday morning and they got both mine and my girlfriends orders wrong. My waitress brought my plate to me and the first thing she said is «I know this is not what you ordered, do you want me to take it back?» I said no because I know how food service works and don’t feel like eating spit… But honestly if you knew my order was wrong why bring it to me?! My girlfriend ordered over medium eggs and ended up with a runny. raw egg… Sulfury tasting mess. I Pike sunny side up eggs myself and these eggs were completely raw. Picture is attached. Good luck!

I’ve been coming here for years. There cream chip Beef is out of this world and you get alot! Today I had the cheese steak which came with fries, a pickle and colecslaw. It also came with choice of Soup or salad. I opted for the Soup. Everything was hot and home made. I left stuffed! Great place and friendly employees

It looks a little suspect from the outside, but inside it is clean and comfortable. The food is well-priced, cooked appropriately, and really tasty. I will definitely go again.

Have been here several times and enjoyed my meal, but about a month ago I went for breakfast and was dissappointed. My companion and I both ordered omelettes and the size of them along with the home fries was very unsatisfying. We both finished and were still hungry, and really couldn’t believe it was as expensive as it was for what we received. May go back some time to give it another shot, maybe it was just a fluke experience?

This is a diner, so expect diner quality food. They have a cake and pastry window, and everything in there looks fresh and tasty. It’s clean, and the service is really warm and friendly. Now for the good stuff. 1) try their rolls, they are amazing 2) try some of the specials, they are well thought through and executed. 3) come with an appetite, portions are huge 4) come when you have the munchies. They are open all night. 5) eat here if you are in a hurry. You can be in and out in 20 minutes. As a side note, this place has a full bar for some reason, so I guess you can keep the party going.

Food is okay. It’s not bad but not great. Service is pretty good and so is the atmosphere. Ok for a diner. Nothing special

This diner is the nearest one to home but for some reason, it never dawned on me to give this place a try for years and years, until one Christmas morning when everywhere else was closed. The thing about diners in Delaware though is of the few I’ve tried, none of them were that great when compared to Jersey diners where I used to live. This one isn’t up to snuff either. The jukeboxes weren’t working, for one thing. More importantly, the food seemed a bit lacking, especially in portion sizes. The eggs benedict did taste somewhat better than the ones at other Delaware diners though. And finally, our server, while very polite and cheerful, wasn’t the most attentive and got a few details wrong. Golden Dove is on the southbound side of US-13. As you approach, slow down because the parking lot isn’t very big and the entrance is easy to miss.

Got the chicken cordon bleu for takeout on a business trip since this was the only place open when I got to the area. Portion was huge but delicious: the chicken, ham, and cheese provided more than enough protein and they provided veggies too. The ingredients might sound random, but the sauce truly meshes the flavors together. Highly recommend.

This place used to be money for breakfast. Unfortunately, it looks like it keeps going down hill. Got cream chipped beef over toast, eggs and hot Italian sausage. The potatoes tasted odd. Heard the next table over say the same thing. The chipped beef had no flavor, and I’m not sure if it was the cream, the toast, or touching of the potatoes that made it taste bad. Eggs were good, as was the sausage. But they came on different plates.

Pretty good diner, if your looking for a classy place to take someone I would probably skip this place. Food is well priced, staff friendly… a little absent minded but friendly… was twice warned not to eat the soup lol! It is what it is… cheap diner… quick meal.

One of my family’s most frequented restaurants. Easy for us to come to, has large and yummy food portions. Been coming here for years. Depending on staff, the wait can be incredibly short for food or a little longer. Jessica or Sierra are the best– we always ask for them.

I am sitting here right now with two of my girlfriends and I ordered the St paddy’s day pastrami panini and it was great, it could have used a little more flavor, maybe a horseradish mayonnaise, sauerkraut, or even coleslaw would have put the cherry on top. Service was great, French onion soup was one of the best I’ve had from a diner. Definitely would recommend and will be back next time in the area.

An undiscovered breakfast place. Its like finding treasure in Delaware. Why didnt i notice this place before? Because it is not big on its advertising. If you drive past it on the highway, its almost impossible to even notice this place. It has a white backdrop with dove diner written on it in Red letters. But the food!!! Unbelievablly well cooked. The omlettes were fluffy with and cooked just so right and so perfect. The burger was perfect… with the right amount of crisp and freshness. I had the veggie burger. People…if you are looking for good food, I mean cooked by a master chef, this place is it. I am humbled by the prices and every bite brought back life into me. I am coming here and bring all my friends. This is an undoscovered and under appreciated place I feel. And the best part, It is open 24 hours for breakfast. Love love love it.

Good place for a diner style meal. I ordered scrapple with pancakes. The pancakes were a little over cooked but my family reported that theirs were good. Service was good and we got waited on and food arrived quickly.

Since moving to Delaware I have been trying to find a place that is similar to a Jersey diner and have not had much luck until trying here. While it’s not a Jersey diner it’s close. I enjoy their chicken cordon blu it is the best I have had in years. The cheese bread is great. Go there for the food there is not much atmosphere but the staff is friendly and the service is good. Have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there and have enjoyed them all.

It is a solid diner. I come here for all meals whenever I haven’t mad anything up for the day. The staff is always friendly and the pies and cakes are exactly what you imagine they will taste like when you see them. And the are reasonably cheap.

The food was good, service was horrible, I had to personally get up twice and get my own ginger ale because waiters was M.I.A. I’m not sure I will return.

On the way back to NYC, didn’t want mcdonalds — this place is alright. Food * Egg white omelet — turkey, spinach, mushrooms. Decent — mushrooms were canned * Prime rib — bf said this was edible Service was friendly.
