I have only been here a few times about 5 years ago. So this is my first time back in a long time. The food was good I got a well done cheese burger and my bf got the turkey club sandwich. We enjoyed our meal and the staff was nice. Overall good food, prices and staff.

The Pennsville Diner; don’t look for a sign that says Golden Gate. Enormous portions. Enormous selection. Menu goes on forever and seems to have everything. Friendly service. Restaurant itself is a touch on the dingy side. Food isn’t bad. Meatballs in the Italian Wedding Soup were especially good, as were the pannini sandwiches. Unisex bathroom was relatively bright and clean.

It’s a good place for a dinner. They give you alot of food on there specials, and salad bar is a little small, but I got to remember it’s only a diner. The sevice is good. Im down in this area twice a year for the outages, and I still go back. There breakfast are great. I never had a bad breakfast there.

I can tell by the location on the map that this is what is now called the Pennsville Diner. We had breakfast here and it was a great price and great service. Recommended it to my step-son on a recent trip and he went with friend. I got nervous about telling him to go since just because breakfast was good, did not mean it would be good for dinner. Turned out to be perfect as he and his friend loved it. I did not see it but they apparently have a salad bar and he went back for 3 servings along with some great fried chicken and sauteed spinach. His friend had a panini and they both not only enjoyed their meal, they had leftovers to take home and all for $ 20. He told me he could not understand why I would send him to a diner as he is from CT and diners in CT do not have a good reputation… I said, it’s Jersey… they are known far and wide for awesome diner food! :) Score one for step-mom steering him in the right direction.

This is an update from the last review of the Golden Gate. Besides there Great breakfast specials, The Golden Gate offers Very Economical Dinner Specials. Nightly 2 for $ 20 specials and an Early Bird menu that starts at 3: pm which starts about $ 6.99 to 9.99 and includes home made soup, main with 1 vegetable and Ice cream, Jello, or pudding. The food is better than the average diner and the service is ALWAYSFRIENDLY and ATTENTIVE. If you’re looking for a good meal alternative to Fast Food and you’re in the Pennsville area, be sure to stop by the Golden Gate II.

My wife and I were both weary and hungry travelers coming back from an overnight trip to Baltimore when going towards 295 South before you get on the New Jersey Turnpike we spotted this family diner off the beaten path so to speak;had positive vibes once we saw plenty of cars there so we proceeded to enter the diner. We were both started with cups of homemade clam chowder soup which was hearty and tasty I believe there was homemade eggplant in soup. I ordered the roast chicken which seemed like it was about 1 ½ chickens literally in size came with a delicious yellow gravy and an awesome stuffing that had apples, carrots and squash in it for sure. It came with green beans and a sweet potato which were both excellent. My wife had the broiled flounder filet which she enjoyed immensely. The service was helpful, attentive and cheery and the prices for amount of food we enjoyed were very reasonable.
