Steak ‘n Shake

This is the slowest service we’ve ever had at the steak and shake. beware if you want quick service. We even sat at the bar for a quick meal. Never got it 20 minutes later. Ended up walking out. Poor poor customer service

I’m a huge Steak n Shake fan but this one is definitely the worst I have ever been to. It took 10 minutes to even be approached about seating and, once we were finally seated and ordered, it took over 45 minutes for two double steak burger meals to get to our table. The bathrooms were dirty and the water in the men’s bathroom was scalding with no adjustment. Truly unbelievable.
I am very reluctant to slam any small business like this but this place made me feel obligated to do so.

My fiancé and I had stopped here before, mostly because it was next to our hotel and open late, and were unimpressed. The staff acted very unprofessionally– shouting at each other across the restaurant and arguing over the thermostat. We vowed we wouldn’t go back.
But on our next trip to town, we really wanted milkshakes and thought for sure, this time would be better. Maybe they just didn’t have their «A team» last time? How wrong we were.
It took literally eight minutes to get our WATER. Then an additional 27 minutes to get our burger and chicken fingers. It took another couple minutes to get our shakes. All in all– we spent AN HOUR at Steak’n’Shake, when there were only four other parties in the restaurant.
Our food was fine– if it had been what we ordered. They gave my fiancé cheese fries which he did not order. They also forgot his chili deluxe– and when they brought it out– it was just regular chili. We were just too tired to put up a fight at this point.
As someone who has visited many Steak’n’Shakes– I must tell you– this is the worst.
P. S. Don’t look in the kitchen after you have eaten. It will just upset you.

Waited two hours to be seated. No paper hats were given to my party of four. I ordered a bean crock and they brought me a double steak burger. I would give them a 2 star but their bathrooms were the epitome of cleanliness. The cashier called me a dirty spic beaver on my way out. Fun for the whole family.

Came in on a Sunday morning, six people in the whole restaurant and we waited thirty mins for our food. Meanwhile, the only other table was sending food back. Waitress was slow but it’s understandable. When we finally received our food, eggs were over cooked on one side and extremely undercooked on the other. My biscuits were cold and the only hot thing on both of our plates was the gravy which I saw the cook microwave. Very poor service. Will not come back.

Just had lunch here. Read some of the reviews, but, after eating the The Original Double Cheese & Fries I was very that it was all very good! Service was great and wait time was about 5 mins. So 5 stars for this place. @ $ 4.31 for burger and fries that area delicious, how could I not be totally happy?

Tonight my mom brother his girlfriend and myself go in to steak n shake and our waitress has to be the most clueless person. She did not look at anyone when they ordered. We ordered 3 milk shakes got 2 of them Said the other one was in the window but took another 10 min to get it and it had melted. She messed up my order had to get manager to correct it she acted like it was a bother. Everyone else was done eating pretty much by the time I got my food, asked for a refill and the dumb waitress said I can get you a to go cup. I was like no I am not leaving I am not done eating. Took 5 min to get a refill. I am sorry but the New Castle Steak N Shake us the worst one I have ever been in the manager I am not sure really knows how to run a restaurant. Think this is the VERY LAST TIME I will ever go in there and I Will advice everyone I know to stay away. And really think the health dept should really take a good look at it I am sure you will find many violations!!!

I’ve been going there several days for a quick breakfast, while away from home. I have been served quickly with a good quality affordable breakfast.

Poor service at the drive thru. Milk Shakes is all we wanted, they took forever and we’re terrible. Don’t recommend this location. Also messed up our bill and had to go inside to fix it. Also gave us someone else’s receipt at first.

gave it a try since I was stayin nearby. it was 24 hours… great burgers and sandwiches at real real reasonable prices and fresh… tis location was clean and friendly too. a must try if nvr u been to one

Save your money. This is the worst Steak ‘n Shake I’ve ever been to. The burgers are always greasy and sloppy. The toppings in the milkshake are lacking and it will be melted by the time you finally get it. I wish corporate would come in and overhaul it to get it on par with the others.

I simply stopped going here. They take to long. I find certain shifts here to be lazy. If you order your kid a grilled cheese sandwich it would be nice if it was cooked and cut.

They take forever to even make a glass of water. Their customer service is hit or miss. Many times have they messed up my order or I got something that looked like they just didn’t care.
If your going to take 20 minutes to make my food, at a burger place, I expect it to be awesome.
The shakes are awesome. I’ve gotten several sandwiches here that were buttered up and barely cooked. Then not cut. So they need to work on that.
