I love this place! The home made pasta and sauce is amazing. They are only open on Sundays and the line for take out is long so call ahead and get there on time. They also let you bring your own take out containers which is pretty cool. Bring a pot and they will fill it with sauce and all you have to do is take it home and put it on the stove. The cavatelli and the ravioli are probably my favorite you can find

I travel all over the country and I have yet to find Italian food as good as what Ladies of the Dukes has. Have tried all the dishes and can taste how everything is homemade with the raviolis being my personal favorite. Service is friendly and always good. Open only on Sunday but do not attempt to go when church lets out as you won’t be able to get near the place. This place is a must as you won’t find a sauce anywhere as good as this joint.

My absolute favorite pasta/pasta sauce place. I know there’s a lot of places that serve pasta and sauces but this place makes the best! The women of ladies of the dukes make their own pasta, raviolis, sauces, etc on the weekday and opens up shop on sundays, so this place can get super busy that day. My hubby said they also sell their sauces, so take some home. This place is worth traveling to New Castle for. I’m lucky that my hubby grew up knowing this place, so I was introduced to it. Otherwise, because it is a family-owned place in a small town, I probably would not have known of real Italian food. Whenever I get a chance, I bring my out of town friends here and they rave about the food here. I hope people from other cities see this and try to come up and support this place.

Good food and great service. I had the chicken parm with the cavatelli on the side. Cavatelli and sauce was great. The chicken parm and salad were ok, but not as amazing as I was expecting. I think my expectations were extremely high because of prior reviews and recommendations from the locals. If you come expecting a good restaurant meal you’ll get it. If you come expecting grandma’s Italian cooking you may be a little let down.

Unless you have a little Italian grandmother in your life, you need to try this food. Actually you should probably try it anyway. All their pasta is great but their cavatellis are worth dying for. So what they’re only open Sundays? Get your butt over there, bring a tupperware, and get some food to go. You will not regret it.

Ladies of the Dukes is a New Castle staple. It’s only open on Sundays but its worth the wait. The food is home style and delicious, but a little heavy on the sauce for my liking. The place is run by a bunch of older ladies who know how to cook. Salad and bread leave a bit to be desired but the homemade macaroni makes up for it. Also have takeout.

I worked here for 3 years every Sunday when I was fresh out of highschool. Three years of watching the ladies make everything by hand. Meatballs by hand, the ladies making the cavatelli every weeknight for Sunday. Amazing. The bread and the salad are not homemade. The sauce is on the sweeter side. What is nice about the sauce is they sell it on the shelf labeled as Mama Pias. I stock up on this stuff. Amazing I tell ya! There are not a ton of menu items here. Just the basics. Also be prepared to wait to sit. There is always a line going into this place… even for take out. What is nice is you can call ahead of time and get the sauce for carryout or the pasta dishes of your choice for a reasonable price. You have to stop here if you are in the area. Just the fact that these people are making everything and not shipping it in from Sysco is reason enough to stop.

This is the definition of Grandma’s Italian cooking. Classic rich red sauce(a little on the sweet side), unbelievably good meatballs, hockey puck raviolis, home made pasta all made by the nicest Italian ladies you’ll ever meet. Oh, and the price isn’t even and issue. The bread isn’t homemade and the salads are nothing to scream about but who cares after eating their pastas, sauce, and meatballs. On travels back east I have driven hours out of my way to go here. Only open Sunday afternoon and evenings. Nothing like this in North Beach. This is the real deal!!!
