The interior has been redone and the bar area looks nice. Very modern and a lot of TVs to watch games. Menu has a lot of appetizerish things that are very good. The mini-calzones are on point and the wings are right there with all local rivals. Good bartenders and the owner is there often, which is a good sign.

We love Fratellis-as a townie bar… we have not tried the cuisine, so no opinion there. However, for a lively/small, dive bar, Fratelli’s is great! Friday karaokee night and it never fails to provide some serious entertainment and laughs. This place is perfect for people watching as it seems to be a melting pot of New Cumberland’s finest. The bartenders are all very nice and prompt with their service — we have always enjoyed our laid-back evenings here.

I live near the bar and even though I don’t smoke, still went when it was Carnahan’s but could only muster going twice as it is now as Fratelli’s and that’s it bc I hate it now, it’s crap. On top of that the New York type gangster owners are rude azzholes(and apparently their attitude rubs off on the staff) and the prices are absurd. It’s a shame what happened and even worse that Coakley’s is no more. Never again Fratelli’s. Oh forgot to mention, since when does the bar owner tell the local sports fans to eff off and watch his shizzy team on the ticket instead of the local team? Well, only at Fratelli’s!

If I were rating this place on the food alone, I would give it a 3 or 4 star rating. The food is quite good and the portions are more than generous. I don’t know if anyone in our party finished the entire meal. Most of us had take home boxes. As another reviewer described, there are too many doors and it isn’t clear where the«entrance» is. I mistakenly went in the wrong door and ended up in the bar/dining area. As I was meeting a party of 12, I asked the waitress if the reserved table for 12 was for my party and gave the name. She said it was and brought me the drink list. 15 minutes after our dinner reservation time, when no one had showed up, a text message from one of my friends indicated at our party was in the banquet room. As the waitress was serving on that side as well, you would think she would have known? Service… she explained that she was training someone new and there would be two of them waiting on our group. There was no one but our party in the whole place other than a few regulars drinking at the bar. Although they were taking orders when I sat down, they failed to take mine. I ordered the house special which comes with fresh bread and a side salad. The bread was served, delish! The salads were served, but not mine. When the waitstaff came back from their«fresh air» break(yeah, smoking break) I asked for my salad. The curt reply was, you didn’t ask for one. I indicated it was included with my meal and the surly response was, «yeah, but you didn’t say you wanted one.» I did get a salad by the time my party were being served their entrees. Not once did either waitress offer anyone a refill on our beverages.(They lost a lot of money for the restaurant because we each typically drink several glasses of beer/wine with our dinner over several hours.) …still waiting. Everyone was half done eating but I and the friend across the table had not received our entrée. The waitstaff were nowhere to be found. When I finally tracked one down, she did bring out my meal but my friend still did not get hers. They forgot to put her order in so by the time she got it, everyone was about done eating except for me. The owner/manager did come out one time at the very beginning when we were first seated to ask how things were. I would that he had checked back later. Not only were we not offered or served beverage refills, no one was offered dessert, and it took over an HOUR from the time the meal was finished for them to bring our checks. We were essentially ignored and neglected the entire time. When we did request anything we got a snarl from one of them as if we were overworking them. My advice to management: You have decent food, not a bad location, atmosphere could be improved by turning off the blaring radio in the dining area that competed with the live band in the bar, fix the acoustics so it isn’t so noisy in the sit down restaurant area(I could barely hold a conversation with the person next to me), and fire the waitstaff and get someone who knows how to wait tables! Decide if you want to be a dive bar/tavern with good food, or a tablecloth restaurant with a bar area. You are doing neither well. But your food has promise.

worst experience in bar/restaurant ever!!! Walk into dining room and it smells of marijuana. Very strong smell of it. So decide to eat at bar. Bartender ignored us while talking to girls for several minutes. Food comes out and it is under cooked. Send it back only to get same food back. This place is a piss poor restaurant and owners have no business running it. Seemed short staffed and also disappointed no female bartenders there. The male was not friendly and watched him take our money for our drinks later after we paid for food and put it in his tip thing by swinging door. Never again and I will warn everyone to go.

My family had a great Saturday night Italian meal here. It was pretty empty due to people migrating to deck bars on nice nights, but the owner informed us they are almost complete with building a roof deck. Appetizers: rice balls and mozzarella triangles –both very good. You got 3 rice balls and they are quite filling. The mozz. triangles were made with the melt-in-your mouth kind of cheese. Entrée: eggplant parmigiana and shrimp Alfredo –again, very satisfying large portions. The menu said the eggplant came with angel hair but I got spaghetti. The sauce was more savory vs. sweet, which I was happy about. Eggplant was thin and cooked nicely. I had a bite of my husbands Alfredo and it was tasty. It came with 6 or more shrimp, which is nice since most restaurants try to pass shrimp meals with 5 or less. I was eyeing up the Cannoli for desert since it is my favorite, but I was so full I couldn’t bring myself to order it. I will be coming back for that. Service was quick and very attentive. Michelle brought everything we needed before being asked, including the to-go boxes.

Stopped in real quick for a beer. Bartender was fairly knowledgeable about the new beers they brought in which was nice. Beer list was out of date but no biggie. The people there were awesome except for the old guy who called himself teddy. Being that he said hes a regular and the sexual harassment he gave to my gf is the main reason I won’t be back in. besides him, the place wasn’t too bad

Old school Italian American food. The House Special Pasta is fantastic. Excellent homemade pasta sauces.

So being from Norther NJ I was very excited to try this new restaurant. There is potential for more stars. The food was very good. It would be nice to have some nightly dinner specials. They need more training for staff. Our table lacked bread plates. No oil for bread was on table. We ask for some which we got but no plates to use. As we finished our entrée the waitress drops our Check off without asking about coffee and dessert. If the owners really are from Jersey they should know how important dessert is We will try again in about a month

So word of a new restaurant in the town next door has been in the local press of late. Fratelli’s in New Cumberland is billed as an authentic Italian restaurant and bar. When we visited(10/31/2014), it had to have been one of their first nights, if not their first night, in operation. I hope that is accurate. We got there, parking around the corner, and made the decision to bring our youngest in the stroller with us. Sometimes that is a chance, but usually it works out. This time, it did not. There are steps into every entrance. Speaking of entrances — Fratelli’s has three of them that I counted. One for the«banquet room,» one for the bar, and one that is unlabeled but I think it is for the restaurant. The restaurant is a 10 – 12 table enclosed seating area next to the bar. You walk in, and you don’t know if you should seat yourself, wait for an employee to greet you, or generally just wander around the dining area. Ultimately, I think we made the right decision to seat ourselves — — but I will say we were barely acknowledged when we entered. So we sat down and got a glimpse of some of the missing pieces of their preparedness. They don’t have any booster seats or kids menus. In fact, they don’t have any cups for kids drinks. They did end up locating a high chair, but that was it. I ended up ordering the Manicotti with sausage, my wife ordered the eggplant parmesan, and we got mini calzone appetizers for our 2.75 year old. The manicotti came out first. Almost 5 minutes later the eggplant parmesan and the mini calzones came out. The food was good, not great overall. The good quality of the food got this place two stars instead of one. After we finished the food, it took awhile for the server to come back around and get moving on the bill. No major complaint there, the place did fill up a bit and I think she was dealing with some technology issues at the wait terminal. A couple of other notes. First, I’m not one who is picky about water, but the water didn’t taste good. Second, the bar seemed squeezed in, but looked like a decent bar area — possibly the highlight of the place though we didn’t spend time in there as it is a smoking area. The place feels like a bar with an owner who wanted to also have a restaurant — and it is built into the overall bar structure as an afterthought. I’m willing to come back and update this review as the quality of the food merits a second chance, despite the ambience and service still getting up to speed. But next time I return, it would be nice to be greeted, or at least have a sign to say to seat yourself, the service will have to improve a bit, and food should come out at the same time. Otherwise, this place will make for a nice watering hole and a wasted opportunity for some good Italian food.

Great new Italian restaurant in New Cumberland. The inside has been completely redesigned and it’s much cleaner than the previous bar that occupied this space. The staff was very nice, it was only their second night so they were still working out some kinks but service was fast and the food was fantastic. They also have a large selection of beers on tap and a pitcher of Yeungling is only $ 6. The bar takes up a large portion of the restaurant but there is now a separate room just for family dining. Also I believe the entire place is now smoke free, I don’t remember seeing anyone smoking in the bar area. It’s great to see a new place open up in downtown New Cumberland!
