Didn’t know they served sandwiches. Wish I hadn’t ordered one. I got the panini with ham and cheese, forgot the name of it. The worst sandwich EVER! Must have gone in the grill for a few seconds. No grill marks. Barely, I mean barely warm. Cheese not melted at all. So dry and disappointing, I threw it away. Yuck! And 9 bucks for this. Are you kidding me? The only reason I’m not giving one star is because the pastries are decent, but nowhere near the quality of Carusos.

Yeah, it’s pricy, but the pastries are AMAZING. Always have fast service, & I’ve never had a problem.

A friend and I stopped in after dinner for a quick coffee and something sweet. I had a small fruit tart that was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. The other treats looked really good but they were all HUGE! Napoleons, carrot cake, chocolate cake, pasties and more. I didn’t pay so I don’t know if they were reasonable or not price wise. I had a decaf coffee which tasted like a typical decaf — nothing to write home about but not bad either. They have a nice outdoor seating area but it was way too hot so we opted to sit inside at a nice comfy air conditioned table! I would not make a special trip to visit here but if in the area it is a nice stop.

Ridiculously expensive. 4.25 for a small(tiny) latte. It wasn’t better than Dunkin.

My family & I frequently come here and the only thing we return for is the dessert. We always get coffee and it’s always average, however, last night by far was the WORST coffee I’ve ever had. It tasted burnt and old as if it had been brewed HOURS before. In addition to terrible coffee, the baristas were inattentive and unfriendly. They seemed to want to spend their time on their phones or conversing with each other more than taking care of the guests and the establishment. I feel that’s a regular observation of the ladies who work there, never have good service any time we visit.

I have been here twice and didn’t enjoy either visit. The cheesecake is way over priced, as are all of their deserts. The barista was snobby and didn’t seem to want us there. The espresso was the worst I’ve ever had. I’m a coffee enthusiast, so I know good espresso and it was simply terrible. I didn’t see her grind the beans or tamp the grounds. She just pressed the button and out game a very fast espresso. Pulling a shot of espresso should take longer than it did. It was watery and thin. This tells me that she already had the machine set up and ready to go. Who knows how long those grounds had sat there. I won’t be going back again. It’s one thing to pay more for quality, it’s another to pay more just to pad someone’s wallet while they serve you mediocre food and drink.

Great little café to meet up with friends. The location is wonderful because after our dinner across the street, we headed over to have a cup of coffee and pastry. The prices were great, and the selection of pastries was wonderful! I enjoyed a vanilla latte which was delicious. The place was packed which was great to see! The only turn off was the woman helping us behind the counter. She didn’t seem to friendly or personable, but that could of just been due to the fact of how busy they were. Defiantly recommend to stop in!

Stopped in for coffee this evening. Of course my sweet tooth kicked in after seeing the variety of sweets, and I’ve been dying for something pumpkin. I tried a pumpkin pastry and it was soooo good and fresh. The cakes looked phenomenal as well. It’s a cute little café next to the marquee cinema. Def worth the stop.

Pastries were quite heavy, coffee was terribly acidic even for Italian roast. Décor is weird and uncomfortable. Can this town get a real local coffeehouse?

It’s good, we go back from time to time, but the service is nothing to write home about and the pastries are usually older since they come in from the main store on Bleeker Street. Little cramped inside too. I usually go out of my way to go to the other store and get my pastries fresh and with a better selection.

Pastries are awesome. Atmosphere isn’t great– Impersonal and cold. They should add a rug and a couch or something. Maybe make it a bit more cozy.

Every time I come here, I want to like it more than I do, but I always end up being dissatisfied. It’s hard not having good independent coffee shops in this part of CNY, and Café Florentine tries to offer something in that vein, but it just doesn’t have exactly what I’m looking for. The ambiance is nice, but not great. There’s something impersonal about the space… I think it’s the floor. The sugar, cream, and napkin area may also be part of it. The service here is good but not amazing. The girls who were working the last time I was there were efficient but aloof. Service was very fast, though, and the place was well-staffed. As for the drinks, I have found them to be mixed. My cappuccino was very foamy and tasted just like the cappuccinos out of my $ 150 home espresso machine – not bad but not great. The chai latte got mixed reviews at our table. Overall, I think this is a decent attempt at a coffee shop, and it seems to be doing well. However, it’s just lacking something for me. I’ll come here if I’m in the area and want to go to a coffee shop, but it’s not somewhere I would seek out or is a must-visit on my list. One nice thing is that they do have outdoor seating during the warm months.

Café Florentine Italian Pastries so good… Just maybe the best in the whole world. They sure make Utica proud.

Ordered a chai latte here and also some chocolate cake. Everything was alright but not particularly special. Service was not personable and the table that I chose was a bit rocky. The place was also a bit crowded and chairs and tables were strangely placed too close to each other. The ambiance here is really nice though and the place gets decorated well for holidays!

Usually impossibly busy on «movie nights». A nice vibe when it’s not too busy. Service is sort of impersonal.

Café Florentine is a cute café and pastry shop located right by Marquee Cinema. The store is clean and provides plenty of seating. The reason why this place is popular is because they have all the delicious treats brought in from Florentine’s in Utica, NY. On my visit here I tried their pusties and almond paste cookies, and both were equally tasty. I also got a cup of chai latte, which was cheaper and bigger than what I’m used to getting in NYC. That was yummy as well. They also seem to have sandwiches and wraps, which I will have to try next time.
