I stopped by yesterday for dinner. It was excellent. I had several sushi rolls and the kitsune odun soup with tofu and veggies. The servers were friendly as well. I recommend to anyone with a hankering for Japanese food. I plan to visit again.

I stopped in here while traveling for work with an intense sushi craving. The service was prompt and attentive. I started with a miso soup and got three specialty rolls(too much I know). I was in and out in a good amount of time, but would have been the environment to sit back and relax as well.

Been here many times for date night and with friends, always a great time with good food and service! We tried the Green Monster, Dynamite, Mohawk and Salmon Avocado rolls last night and were very happy with our order!

Not the biggest fan of Sushi, but Mitsuba does it really well. There are a lot of great specialty rolls(I’ve tried the Volcano and New Hartford) along with larger platers. There are also chicken and pork with rice dishes for the non-sushi inclined, which seem quite good with ample portions. Also, the service is extremely fast and all the servers are very pleasant. Plus, they have great discounts for students, along with some free apps! All in all a solid place for good Asian food and sushi in New Hartford!

I ignored my friends suggestion to visit Sumo due to the excellent reviews on Unilocal for Mitsuba. Having lived in Las Vegas and LA for most of my life I know I’m difficult to impress when it comes to food and even more so when it comes to sushi. Service: It was pretty good. At one point I wanted to be sure I understood the difference between the caviar and tobiko since its used interchangeably on the menu. Even though my server, Joan, understood me, she came back to double check. I like that. Ambiance: very casual. Not a large restaurant. Food: here’s where the three stars come in. Maybe we ordered the wrong stuff because I’ve noticed that everyone else had a pretty good experience. My boyfriend ordered the crazy Friday roll. I’ve come to the conclusion he is no longer allowed to order without my supervision. I took one bite, my eyes started to water and I asked, «what did I just eat?» It took everything in me to swallow. I’m not a fan of cream cheese and fish though so take it with a grain of salt. I ordered the Christmas roll. I was ok with this one but it does not come with a sauce so its very dry. I used the ponzu sauce from our tuna tataki appetizer and it was pretty good. The tuna tataki was ok. The green tea was good and didn’t come out so hot that I couldn’t touch the cup, which was nice. Price: our rolls were $ 13 and $ 14. This is pretty expensive for sushi even in Las Vegas. If you charge that much for a roll in Las Vegas it had better be «I’ll have another» good and as you couldn’t tell by now, the food quality is subpar. Edamame was $ 4.50 but you get 2 – 3 times the amount you’d normally get at another place. Tuna tataki app was $ 8 which is typical for a dish like that but not really worth the money. The extras: instead of doing a complimentary edamame or miso soup they do a volcano roll appetizer. The volcano roll was pretty good but it’s mostly deep fried rice covered in spicy mayo. It was more filling than edamame or miso soup which didn’t make sense from a marketing standpoint to me but I digress. I honestly would’ve preferred miso or edamame. There is a sign that says they give 15% off to students when you walk in. When my boyfriend asked if they could do that at the end of our meal they said you have to have a student ID for everyone at the table. Even though I had the student ID and I was paying for the whole dinner, they only gave us 10% off. I felt bad giving such a critical review when everyone there was pretty nice but if I think about each individual aspect of my experience, this is a very accurate review.

Looooove Mitsuba. Great deals and prices on really good sushi! I always have the hardest time choosing between all their rolls. Love the sunshine, goldfish love roll, volcano, monster, American, rainbow… Good service and great selection!

Very good sushi. Super fast service and cheap drinks. Definitely would recommend to any visitor to New Hartford craving sushi. Try the cold sake and pork dumpling appetizer.

Having lived in Los Angeles for over a decade, I no longer fear sushi joints that are situated inside mall parking lots. And in smaller towns, they often ONLY exist in mall parking lots. That being said, I don’t get my hopes up when it comes to quality of fish or innovation when it comes to culinary creation. Well, Mitsuba threw me a curve ball. Their fish was surprisingly fresh, their dishes were inventive and their flavor combinations were on point. The eggplant appetizer, for instance, was not only tasty, it was served in a way I hadn’t seen before. I’d come back just for that! The cucumber wrapped sushi rolls are always a hit for me, but these kicked it up a notch with some nicely unexpected ingredients. Couple all that with nice service and a refreshingly mild cup of tea at the end of the meal and I’m a happy mao. My one quibbleone maybe even outright complaint — was that the deserts were terrible. Straight up bad. The vanilla, chocolate and banana(at least we ordered banana — not sure what we got) were all doughy, greasy, tasteless messes. Overall, a delightful meal… just skip dessert.

Pros: — Free appetizer — volcano roll — Quick service — Very nice waitress — Veggie teriyaki — my friend had it and said it was good Cons: — Chicken Katsu was extremely disappointing — the chicken was extremely dry and they don’t serve it the usual Japanese way with curry sauce — very disappointed — Small sushi roll — 6 pieces for $ 5

Ordered the pad Thai — it was pretty salty, not sweet. I normally order pad Thai at a place I’ve never been and this one wasn’t as good as others I’ve tried. Didn’t try the sushi.

Excellent spot for in/out or just to relax and have a great lunch or dinner. Service is quick and always served with a smile. We’re regulars here and treated like family. Sushi is excellent as are their soups and specialty dishes.

Perfect location, as it is right across the way from Marquee Cinemas, so you can have a sushi and movie night. Another cool thing about Mitsuba is they have happy hour specials on their food, between 5pm-8– I believe. During those hours you get a free egg roll of some sorts. The sushi is made well, and delicious, the staff is very friendly, all-in-all I enjoy this restaurant.

I have never had a bad experience dining at Mitsuba. The service is always fast and the staff is really friendly. I always enjoy anything that I order here. I definitely suggest the New Hartford roll and the Yuki roll, but all of the special rolls are amazing. The atmosphere is also really quiet and peaceful– I just love it here!

This Mitsuba is NOT the Mitsuba with the Hibachi grill. This place serves Japanese dishes and sushi. I went here multiple times and each time, the food is only mediocre. Today I ordered three rolls for the lunch combo. The sushi was nicely presented, but the proportion was just not enough. There was only a TINY bit of fish in there so I was not very happy. On top of that, I ordered Kitsune udon(they spelled it Kitsun udon) only to find out that they give you cheap slices of soft tofu. Kitsune udon is supposed to be a type of thin fried tofu with a sweet sauce over it but I guess they didn’t know what Kitsune udon really is. Of course, the udon noodles were delicious because it’s kind of hard to mess up noodles. I also ordered the Shrimp Tempura bento box. Everything was alright but the rice was a bit cold and hard. It could have been done better. The only thing I was completely satisfied with was the agedashi tofu(appetizer) and the green tea. Everything else is mediocre and for the price, you’re better off getting Japanese cuisine at the Mitsuba Hibachi Grill restaurant, Asian Bistro, or Sumos, all relatively close by.
