Drove a half hour to eat here on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and it was closed. Nothing mentioned on the restaurant’s website. Very disappointing and annoying. If you have a website, especially a blog, keep it current, please.

Absolutely one of the bast places to eat. The grilled cheese is to die for. I know it’s hard to get excited about a grilled cheese but every week they tweek it and add something in it, like pesto or apples or you can add some of your own things in it like sweet potatoe humus. My husband always gets the chicken salad panini and a soup and is never disappointed. The service is a bit slow but it’s well worth the food. I will be retuning again and again

Nice day for a drive, so we stopped in for brunch. Both quiche options were great, amongst the other pastries and teas we tried. But the chocolate lavender cupcake: still haven’t found the right words to explain just how good it was. I think we’ll be back this Sunday :)

Lovely place for lunch! My usual is a grilled cheese with hummus, and a cup of tea. Highly recommend.

Everything about this place is cool without the preciousness. Service is charming, the teas are great, had the protein shake which rocked. Played backgammon for an hour while sipping tea. Great Sunday! If your in the area treat yourself to a visit.

Passiflora is not just good, it’s GREAT. From the incredible selection of teas and chais(all of which are explained in detail in a very descriptive booklet), to the über fresh ingredients in their quiches, sandwiches, wraps, and soups, this place is not to be missed. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable about the teas and will guide you exactly to the right choice based on your preferences. Leave room for dessert(the black bean brownies are amazing)! They’re incredible, too. The atmosphere is sunny, bright, vibrant, never rushed. It’s a favorite spot for a lunch with a friend. This place is a gem.

Stumbled upon this gem while hitting the antiques warehouse down the street. Decided to stop by after spotting it up there on Unilocal.I have to say I was a little hesitant due to the obvious vegan-vegetarian-organic-hipster vibe it was giving off, but I put my faith in the Unilocal community. Unilocal, you did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my snack and latte here. The menu is filled with delicious(and healthy to boot!) food options, an extensive tea selection and a nice organic coffee list. My girlfriend and I split the grilled cheese with edamame hummus while she had a chocolate chai and I had a mocha latte. The grilled cheese was awesome. It was cooked perfectly and the hummus was an excellent dipping option. This was a new combination for me and I am glad I was exposed to it here. The chocolate chai was quite good, although I must admit I am not a tea connoisseur. As for the mocha, it was decent. Not bad, not great, but I am extremely picky with my lattes so overall I would give the coffee a 7⁄10 and everything else a 9. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy and I really appreciated the pleasant demeanor of the staff. I would definitely stop by here more often if I was a local to the area.

Try the specials, the soups, veggie burgers, grilled cheeses! Everything! My favorite lunch spot. Cozy and cute. My only complaint is that they are closed Monday(my day off). Thankful to have such a great café in town.

My boyfriend and I decided to spend a Saturday in the charming town of New Hartford and were so pleased to stumble upon this adorable teahouse. With a large herbal tea selection, cheery interior, and inspiration quotes on the table, Passiflora is a warm and inviting café. I was very impressed with their organic menu which includes vegan and gluten free options. Although I’m not a vegetarian myself, my sister is and I know from her experience how difficult it can be to find something satisfying, especially at cafes. I texted her about Passiflora immediately after my visit and can’t wait to bring her here. It’s also a challenge to provide such a healthy menu but Passiflora succeeded and won’t let hungry customers down. We tried the grilled cheese sandwich and although I can be pretty picky when it comes to these sandwiches, I can confidently say it was the best grilled cheese sandwich I ever had. The toast was buttery and the organic swiss, provolone, and havarti cheese medley paired well with the edamame hummus. I also enjoyed the chocolate mate chai although I wish it came out hotter. But I think the server may bring it out at a certain temperature so customers don’t burn their tongue. It’s important to note that Passiflora caters to the vegetarian clientele. If you must have meat in your meal, then this place is probably not the best option. The servers also seem a little distracted but with that said, it’s not like you need an attentive wait staff at a café either. And finally, try to avoid coming close to closing time because they may run out of certain ingredients. It may have just been a one time incident but the table next to use couldn’t order a salad because they ran out of greens.

I took my sweetheart here for breakfast as I had been wanting to check this place out. I saw that they had gluten free options available which was important. The vibe is very relaxed and inviting, we were greeted warmly when we walked in. He ordered a latte and the gluten free yogurt parfait. I ordered a mocha latte and the breakfast toast(flax sourdough, goat cheese and honey). Everything was very tasty and exactly what we wanted. For treats we tried a date walnut bar, and a chocolate lavender gluten free cupcake. If I had one complaint it would be the cupcake was dry, the frosting was very tasty and a nice contrast. I also purchased some loose tea to go(which is great). They have open mic nights, which I might check out sometime. Overall wonderful experience.

My newfound matcha obsession has me searching the state far and wide for places where I can find this Japanese green tea powder and I found it here today when I stopped in for tea and lunch. Passiflora has been on my list for years, but I’d never made it here until today and I am glad I did. The first stop I made was the restroom which was a lovely restroom with a large wall-length quote board with inspirational Maya Angelou quotes. Tomorrow is a big day for me and I’ve been pretty stressed in anticipation. As cheesy as it may sound, the quotes helped. I walked past the cozy sitting area, a multipurpose room that serves several functions, to the café section. As another reviewer noted, it was confusing and I wasn’t sure what to do so when I got there so I walked to the counter and was told by a staff member that I could sit anywhere I wanted. Initally, I wandered back into the first room and sat at one of the two small tables by the window, but the charm of the main room, or the café, drew me back and I sat alone amongst the pairs and other solo diners. A café menu and separate tea menu were brought to me. Even though I ordered a matcha latte I still browsed the tea menu to see the offerings and was impressed by the vast selection. The menu was organized extremely well. Stuck between what to order: the apricot almond chicken salad? veggie burger? hummus and veg wrap? I asked for assistance from the waitress who recommended the burger. With it comes either a salad or soup, so I opted for one of the soups of the day — the chicken and dumplings(the other option was a lentil soup). When I ordered the matcha I was given the option on 1% milk, almond, coconut, hemp, or cashew. I’m usually a full-fat dairy consumer so the barista combined 1% with half and half for the matcha latte. It was good, but not the best I’ve had. The veggie burger itself was ok, the best part being the toasted, buttered, Bantam Bread Bakery sourdough with flax bread. The chicken and dumplings soup was bland, I had to add salt and pepper, but the chicken pieces were tender and flavorful. The baked goods available for purchase included a matcha cupcake, coconut lime cupcake, congo bars, and black bean brownies. They all sounded good but had the appearance of homemade bakesale treats. Maybe I will try one next time.

Update: A friend from DC and I thoroughly enjoyed lunch at Passiflora on a recent bustling Saturday. Despite the need to avoid multiple food allergens, the server met the challenge head on, made delicious suggestions, provided a book of ingredients, and ultimately provided us with a scrumptious lunch. I’m not sure I would have chosen her suggestions without her counsel, but am glad I trusted her lead(Alexandra maybe?). For the record, Passiflora’s soup chef is top notch! On a very positive note, several tables are now able to accommodate a person who uses a wheelchair for mobility. Thank you and BIG kudos to the owner, Karen!

This absolutely is my favorite, favorite place! Not enough lovely things I could say about Passiflora. The staff makes you feel at home, are absolutely the sweetest and really take care of you when you dine there, or even just get something to go… and the food, wow, so beyond delicious!!! My fav is the veggie burger with sweet potato hummus, as well as, the babycakes chocolate chip cookies. For the people who have not tried Passiflora yet, you seriously have to! You totally won’t regret it… you’ll more likely become addicted!

Passiflora is an adorable teahouse and restaurant situated on Main Street in the charming town of New Hartford, Connecticut. Tea is one of my favorite things ever, so I had very high expectations going in. The atmosphere and ambience cannot be beat. It is quaint, cute, inviting, and comfortable on the inside and offers free, unlocked wifi for guests. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and an acoustic blues band was setting up to play. They were awesome! I was trying to get some work done, so having a band was a bit distracting, but all the more reason to close my laptop for a while and listen. When I walked in, no one greeted me or let me know what to do. I took a seat and tried to observe what was happening with other guests to figure out if there wast table service or I had to go to the counter. 10 – 15 minutes went by without anyone stopping at the table, so I asked one of the waitresses passing by for a menu and told her I’d never been there before. She apologized a brought over a tea menu right away. The tea selection is extensive. There is a list on the front cover of what they are out of, which wasn’t a problem as there were so many to choose from. I selected the tea that I wanted and was informed it was also out of stock, although not on my list. Gave my second choice, same situation. It was quite frustrating. I had a very nice glass of iced passionfruit tea, but it wasn’t what I wanted. I believe it was $ 2.75, so not inexpensive, but not crazy. I hope to have a better experience in the future. It was too cute to write off.

I truly adore Passiflora. Came here with my boyfriend today, I think I’ve been here 3 or 4 times now. The soup is always fantastic(choices today were eggplant parm and cold avocado tomato gazpacho) and the breads(a flax seed on and udi’s gluten free) are nice — the biscuits they sometimes offer with them are really great too. The price, as others have said, are right when you consider the cost of their high quality ingredients. I had the house salad with my soup today which was great. I also love their teas — today I got Yerba Maté and the last time I was here I was super sick and got a sinus clearing one to go. The owner cheerfully gave me a huge portion of the tea and explained how I could refrigerate the bag and RE-steep it throughout the day to try to beat my sickness. I thought that was really sweet of her to be so helpful and attentive. All the girls who work here are great too. And my boyfriend just told me they’re byob, so I’ll definitely be back to explore that aspect of this fine place!!!

My girlfriend and I were in the area for a Brewfest 2013 at Ski Sundown this past weekend, and we decided to grab a late lunch before checking in at the event. As always, I turned to my Unilocal app for dining advice. Passiflora was the first location on the list. With an already good rating, we decided it was a pretty safe bet for the area. Parking was a breeze as there was a road-side spot open right in front of the entrance. Upon walking in, you’re greeted with a room filled with shelves of teas and spices. That gives you that real«made on the spot» feeling. As we walked into the dining area, we were greeted, took a seat, and were brought some menus. My girlfriend ended up ordering the Apricot Almond Chicken Salad Wrap, and I had the Orcanic Grilled Cheese Melt with a cup of Portabella and Potato soup. The way the floorplan is, I was able to watch the employees prepare our food. Given the uprising of TV shows that showcase some terrible restaurants around the country, this is exactly the type of open environment that more shops need nowadays! The food prep didn’t take long at all, and I was happy to see the employee wearing a fresh set of gloves while making our lunch. The cheese melt was sinfully delicious, the soup was light yet hearty, and the chicken salad wrap was perfectly complimented by the apricots! Nothing screams«success» like having a lunch that curbs your conversation because you can’t stop eating. The flavors in both meals were spot on and I couldn’t have asked for anything better for lunch! Not only were both of us full, but we didn’t feel weighed down by unhealthy food. Between the excellent flavors and the fresh, organic ingredients, Passiflora certainly fullfilled everything we look for in a meal! Since our lunch was healthy, we didn’t feel guilty ordering a chocolate chip cookie to split while we got ready to pay. From checking in on Unilocal,I was awarded a 10% off coupon, which I was able to redeem on the spot. To be completely honest, the chocolate chip cookie was so good, I could’ve walked out the door with EVERY cookie they had! All in all, this was a VERY successful lunch stop and it practically over-shadowed the Brewfest event! My only complaint was that everything looked pretty good and picking just one dish was quite an ordeal. I just wish that this was closer to home so that I could try more items on the menu. I would certainly recommend Passiflora to anybody looking for a healthy, delicious breakfast or lunch! We’ll most likely be taking a trip back here in the not-too-distant future.
