They once had a great reputation, but their menu hasn’t changed in 5 years. Their martini and wine list doesn’t exist. Sadly, as often as I try to go to local businesses, I don’t think I will be back to this one.

Meh. Ordered the Caesar Salad and the strip steak entrée medium rare. Bartender forgot the order and I repeated it later. After a long wait, got a steak Caesar salad with rare steak on top. When I mentioned this to the bartender, she looked incredibly confused. I just decided to bite my tongue and just eat it. It tasted fine. Nothing to shout about. I’m fine with rare meat. To be fair, it was a busy night and they only had one bartender. But, still, I don’t think I will be back.

Unfortunately Chatterleys has gone down hill. What once was the jewel of New Hartford has become a brick. The service is sad, the food subpar and costly and the place is just plain dingy. I Sat outside on the patio on a beautiful summer night with the smoke wafting from the bar patrons that stand outside the entrance puffing away clueless they are ruining the dining experience of those nearby. Truly this is so sad, With the local feel and a place where everyone knows you name, It’s reminiscent of cheers but at the end of the last season…

Sadly, Chatterley’s is just not the same. For the past year or so, I keep going back hoping it will be good and more times than not, I am disappointed. My most recent visit will be last until I start hearing good things again. To begin, the water glasses were filthy, flies were everywhere, and the food was just bad. I had a chicken caesar salad and it tasted like it was drenched in mayo. I can’t get the awful taste out of my mouth. I truly hope the owners will take notice and make changes, because it’s a beautiful location and I’ve been eating here for over 20 years. I want Chatterley’s to last! The one positive is that the waitstaff is always great.

Thank goodness I live near Chatterly’s, and can stop in for a quick bite, or when family is visiting, take them there for an INCREDIBLE meal. I’ve been eating Chatterly’s food for many years, and I love it still.

Been to this spot on many occasions over the years. If you get there early on a Thursday– sat night you may get a seat at the bar and be entertained by the locals. Be sure to get an order of the pig wings on the bar menu. Specials have been great or a complete miss in my experience. The food overall is very good and priced right however I find that on busy nights the food suffers as the kitchen staff must be in the weeds. For that reason I try to hit this spot on off hours. They have a great patio for a summer afternoon and the bread basket is fresh baked with a nice compound butter that varies daily.

We often eat here on our way to Infinity Hall in Norfolk. Lovely staff, great menu. Food is terrific. Reasonable corkage fee if you choose to bring your own bottle of wine. Crab cakes are awesome, and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Had lunch on Saturday 2÷28÷14. Driving through town, I searched for a place to eat on my phone. Chatterly’s came up first with directions. It was a lovely surprise. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful! I had a grilled chicken salad with asian style dressing. My dining partner had a pasta special which was penne with sundried tomatoes, chicken, spinach and parmesan cheese. The homemade bread was warm and tasted amazing! I highly recommend this place.

Was out exploring in New Hartford area and decided to try a local place for lunch. The menu looked decent and had good reviews. The service was friendly and staff was attentive, wasn’t left alone for long periods of time. The interior décor needs some updating, never saw the bar area, but I’m sure it was more of the same. The bread they brought us before our food was super fresh, served warm with some butter, delicious. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and my girlfriend got the Crab Cakes. The chicken was alright, nothing to write home about and the potatoes were very good. The corn off the cob wasn’t to my liking, very very sweet. The crab cakes were a little mushy and fell apart too easily. Would go back again to other dishes a try.

App was amazing. It’s been 25 minutes for our entrees. However the quality of the food made me forget the wait. Salmon BLT on wheat berry toast was delicious. Perfectly crisp bacon, 2 decent sized pieces of salmon. Comes with fries. Pulled pork and mushroom quesadilla served with quac, sour and salsa. The menu is different and the prices are reasonable.

Don’t let the Victorian trappings fool you, this isn’t a fussy tea room. How many times have you wandered into a place like this: off the beaten trail, ham-handed signage, vintage interior, fussy accents; and been served miserable, overblown preparations, and overdressed, limp salads by an unprofessional staff? Lord knows that’s what I was expecting. But don’t judge a book by its cover. The Chatterley’s kitchen is co-run with a commercial catering operation, and the precision and care show. Dishes are fresh, interesting, and in several visits I haven’t hit a dead spot yet. Soups, a bellwether in any restaurant, are excellent. You aren’t going to find challenging molecular presentations, but there is usually one or two specials that indicate the kitchen is holding back a bit. I’ve never liked Victorian décor, with all it’s frills and fancy-ness, but I respect Chatterleys from making the most out of its building, which dates to that period. It isn’t a manly dining room, to be sure, but the bar is all dark wood and daytime drinkers, so if you need a testosterone fix, eat at the bar with the locals. Service is informal and youthfully unprofessional, which is typical for the area. Perfectly nice and competent, but you’ll understand what I mean once you sit down. And really, who could complain when lunch entrees and sandwiches hover at or below $ 12? And many dinner entrees are under $ 20, incuding a Lobster Ravioli Alfredo with panko topping and truffle oil for $ 19? I’m drooling just typing that one. In most places you get what you pay for. Chatterleys is a steal at this price point — by far the best value in the New Hartford area. This is a tough place to rank, since I would put the service and décor at three stars, and the food is not particularly innovative, but the quality of the food and the value presses this up to four stars.

I wanted to like Chatterley’s, I really did. We’ve driven by it a zillion times and always said«that looks like a real cute place, we should try it some time». A family friend goes there all the times and loves it. So when we finally decided to swing in on a Thursday night, we were definitely primed to like it. But it wasn’t meant to be. The first thing that caught our attention was the half-dead display of sad looking white carnations sadly drooping on our table. Actually, they were on every table in the restaurant, one looking more forelorn than the next. The festive St. Patrick’s Day swizzle stick in the vase didn’t do much to resurrect those puppies. Strike One. We almost rebounded nicely with a bread basket and a ramekin of «buffalo mozzaralla butter», which oddly tasted like… well, it tasted just like butter. I ordered a coke that came in one of the smallest glasses I have ever seen– the glass was filled to the tippy-top with ice cubes. I dispatched with that drink in 2 swigs, and even thought it cost just $ 1.50, it was a rip off. No free refills of course. Strike Two We ordered a Sweet Italian Sausage & Mushroom Pizza($ 10), a dinner salad($ 4.50) and an Asian Grilled Shrimp Chopped Salad($ 10). The Asian Salad was really good — it was listed in the menu as having«Napa cabbage, cucumber, scallion, sweet red peppers, edamame, crispy rice noodles and spicy peanut dressing». I ordered it w/o the noodles and with the dressing on the side, and I was happy to see it was served trhe way I ordered it. It included just 4 medium shrimp, they tasted fine. The real star of this dish was the spicy peanut dressing, which was incredibly spicy, and therefore delicious. Sadly our server had zero personality, left us alone for long stretches, and did little to win us over, Strike Three … All in all, the entrees were tasty, the interior of the restaurant was gorgeous, but the service was far below average. We just spent $ 25 for dinner, but the menu had plenty of entrees between $ 20 and $ 30 — thank goodness we didn’t go there, we would have been a lot more dissatisfied with the way things went.

Delicous lunch on the patio. I had the Cuban wrap which was delicous and my friend had the Cesar salad!
