Went there specially to have the Veggie burger… N I must say it was worth the drive. Not too many options for veg food. But they are great at whatever they have. N sweet potato fries were awesome. Another thing I had was the veggie sandwich n that the ad awesome too… The taste of the pesto in the sandwich was awesome. Worth a try.

Came here yesterday to meet family as I was heading out of town. I’ve been here before and honestly the only reason I picked this place is that it’s realy the only place in the area where you can get a decent breakfast. Our experience yesterday wasn’t great. The potatoes were hard as if they hadn’t been cooked long enough which was disappointing because they would have been good otherwise. The rye toast was nice… it was thick cut. The food wasn’t really all that hot when it came to the table and I ordered a side of hollanaise to have with my eggs and it was served in a plastic ramiken but it was cold… like it never touched a pan. I asked the server to heat it up which he did, I’m sure in the microwave. The service was average. So I’ll probably be back here but again, only because there is nothing else around and it;s convenient and reasonably priced.

I really like this place, not necessarily because the owner is a steelers fan(go steelers), or the fact that he brought his own version of the primanti bros sandwich to CT nor the fact that he actually takes the time to have a real conversation with a random customer. NOPE, not at all, I like the food and prepared in a way that you can appreciate. I jade the pittsburgh bomber and a friend of mine ordered the“jersey rippers”… tasted great

For starters, the prices here are obnoxious. I took my two kids and myself here for dinner last night and we each had a burger and we decided to go big and get dessert. Total bill? $ 79??? Come on!!! We did breakfast here within the last year — the three of us — got 2 omelets and one Cinnabon pancakes — $ 71!!! I’ve been here a total of 4 times each time hoping to be impressed — nope. Needless to say, we’re done. The food is diner food– Nothing extraordinary. The service is slow and each time I’ve been here they’ve somehow screwed up our orders. Last night they forgot our appetizer and on a prior visit they brought it with our meal… Burgers come VERY pink even though you request no pink… Had I not paid as much as I did, I might not even have taken the time to write this review. But, when you spend THAT much money… Your expectations go way up. I will spend my hard earned money elsewhere and get better food and better service. Not impressed.

So over priced! I wasted $ 80 on a breakfast for 2 adults and 1 child! WTF?! Go to the Village café in Canton if you are looking a fresh food and a friendly environment. Great outside seating when the weather allows it. Order The«Vermont»

I am surprised at the low ratings. So it must be hit or miss at this place. Went here yesterday and had corned beef hash and eggs. Portion was pretty big for hash but they make their own hash with actual corned beef chunks, very good. The reason for 3 stars is they don’t butter the toast but give you cold butter for lukewarm toast. I would go back though.

I’m surprised at the overall rating of this establishment. I had lunch with a friend and I’d rate my sandwich a solid 4 and she gave hers a 4.5. Since we split our sandwiches, I agree that her option.: the grilled Brie, Apple slices and walnuts on wheat was delicious and my choice: a grilled chicken breast, Brie, and arugula on ciabatta was quite tasty though a little messy as the roll was a bit too soft to handle the contents. Each was served with a substantial side; I chose a mixed green salad dressed with balsamic which my friend enjoyed a large serving of potato salad. Prices are a little high for a sandwich but with the accompanying side, it seemed a fair enough price. The atmosphere is bright, open and inviting. Our waitress was attentive and efficient. Dish and Dat is located in an open air mall and offers a great option to take a break while shopping!

Before starting my review, I decided to have a look at pre existing ones. Frankly, I was surprised by the pans– especially the one bashing the clam chowder, because I liked it so much, that’s what prompted me to write a review! Each to his own taste, I guess. I come here typically to, grab a soup and sandwich and have found both offerings so good, it’s become a regular stop. I believe their«matzoh ball», I.e. Chicken soup, is the best in the area. So, if you adjust your expectations accordingly, you’ll enjoy this restaurant for its good points. On the downside, I have to agree you’re probably better not eating in the bar. Unlike its(failed) predecessor, Simmer, the bar seems to be a side issue for Dish n Dat. One of the(many) reasons that Simmer failed was they had a great bar and an attractive higher end menu that just couldn’t attract the suburban Moms with kids in tow for the lunch hour trade. The new owner has made sure he focuses on attracting that trade, with considerable success by making it more of a diner experience, with a wide range of offerings that include items that appeal to kids. Which leads to one final caveat. The frequent presence of kids combined with the restaurant’s loud acoustics can make for a pretty noisy lunch experience. So, forearmed is forewarned.

Off-lunch(around 2:30 ish), very slow, very empty. Sat at the bar. Had the opportunity to look over the bar, cracking, dirty, sticky, seats are worn, floor dirty, just all over needed a good cleaning and fixing up. Bartender absent for about 20 minutes. So we’re already not off to a good start, dirty, empty, missing service. Now I understand working in restaurants that it’s off-time for getting side work done, so I can’t berate her for it, when she did come back, she was friendly and attentive. I ordered the buffalo mac and cheese. The little salad it comes with, hardly more than a few leafs of lettuce on a hot plate, and mostly mostly bitters for salad, wasn’t all that impressive. The mac and cheese itself, absolutely nothing to write home about. Franks Red hot mixed in with what had the consistence of bagged/frozen mac and cheese with crumbled blu cheese and frozen chicken tenders cut up. Overall, I’d be more concerned about health risks and cleanliness, the food just isn’t worth that kind of risk.

First time, last time. Not very impressive. Diner style food is probably the easiest to cook and they can’t pull it off.

Arrived after contemplating previous removed. Wanted a steak so I ordered the surf and turf. Waitress said if your questioning it I wouldn’t do it. Interesting. Why would you ever say that to a customer. Anyway, the bill arrives and I sign the credit card receipt which was $ 45– when we leave the waitress leaves gives me a receipt for $ 90. Bad business practices. Charged me an additional $ 45 on my credit card which I didn’t sign. Will never return.

What I do enjoy about this place is the happy hour specials that they offer daily in the bar area. But, as far as the food goes, it’s really just an over priced diner. Every time I take a look at the menu I am appalled at what they are asking for what they serve. I wouldn’t mind paying a little extra for excellent quality but it is just not there. I continue to return for the happy hour deals when I can but I wouldn’t head down there for a meal. If I am in the area and I want breakfast or lunch I would either go to Village Café in Canton or Fabiola’s in Avon

Well Dat was Dish-appointing. Gave it a second chance and it failed again. Everything is way too salty even when you ask for no salt. It might just mean they’re buying cheap ingredients from poor suppliers. This is Diner quality at restaurant prices. A cheese steak grinder, a pulled pork sandwich with tater tots and two coffees came to $ 38.00 not including the tip! Lunch food for $ 46 dollars? You can sucker that out of Avon people for only so long before people start catching on. I love the vibe, the 50s music is great, the décor and service is wonderful. Really nice hostess and waitresses and fun environment, but really, the food is just lack luster and way, way way too salty. Unfortunately, I doubt we’ll go back again.

Used to be my favorite place in high school. It’s gone downhill. They had this weird fusion jar that was pretty grungy looking, I would NOT ever take a shot out of there. The food was okay, I wasn’t impressed. This place is good if you want some novelty food like the«Big Daddy Fatty Burger» or the«Junkyard Burger», if you like that kind of thing this place is pretty good. The beer had been sitting in the tap for too long, had a very unpleasant taste. Replaced it with a Mango Margarita, it was way too sweet and not mixed very well. The service was pretty good and the people are always nice there, pretty clean place. I’ll probably go back to see if it gets better but I wouldn’t take a date there.

One of the best Eggs Benedicts I’ve ever had here for brunch. The eggs were poached perfectly, the hollandaise was rich and flavorful, the Canadian bacon was easy to cut through, and the English muffin was toasted and buttered to perfection. I’ll be sure to return for lunch or dinner soon to try some of the other offerings.

I’m not quite sure why the previous entry for this business is listed as «closed» — it’s the same thing. And having gone over the years, unfortunately, what was unique and cool about this place has just turned to average. When it first opened, its take on American diner food was unique and fresh. Since then, however, it has become more mass-produced and generic. One level about Friendly’s but pretty much like you would get at Chili’s etc. That said, it remains a decent place to take the family. They can get pancakes for dinner and you can get a sandwich. The fish tacos remain above average. But the cheese steak has a bun too big for the beef and the meat was a little too chewy and overcooked. The bun isn’t the best too. A little doughy. Overall, its a good place and enjoyable — but just not as unique or special. For better or worse, it’s just become what it probably didn’t set out to aim to be – a generic diner with above average prices. The main Dish downtown is the better choice of this mini«chain» or better yet, Sorella.

This place just can’t be any worse than it is. Under strong suspicions, I hesitantly returned because my boyfriend wanted breakfast late on the weekend. Begrudgingly, I obliged and wound up with this crapfest of a restaurant if you can even call it that. He was on the fence before. I am happy to report he hates it just as much as I do now. We both ordered clam chowder which at this establishment means mushy potatoes, hot spots in the stew(not chowder) and let’s not forget to mention the carrots and bacon they threw in as well. There is no mention of bacon in the soup anywhere on the menu. I didn’t care for it which is astounding because bacon goes with everything, right? No. It doesn’t. Just take it out. It is god-awful. Because everything is outrageously overpriced, we chose to get soup and apps. We have eaten here before. We don’t mind paying for food that is good. But honestly, who charges $ 22 for Mac ‘n Cheese? $ 16 for a Reuben with fries? Give me a break. We order the Spinach Artichoke Dip and Nachos with no Jalepenos. Food comes 20 minutes later and the nachos are covered with jalapenos. Waiter takes it back and our waitress comes over and after she figures out it was sent back because of the peppers she then comes back and informs us that there is additionally jalapenos in the chili that is on the nachos. So, now that makes TWO items that are not listed that should be, on the menu. There is just no way around it. The food is mediocre, the prices are outrageous, the only thing remotely interesting about this place is that it is always busy. And that interests me because I spend all my free time thinking«WHY?» Just avoid at all costs. Your pallette and wallet will thank me. One star for the 12 year old boy that sat us in the corner booth at the back of the place. Without you, we would have never been able to smell the dumpster aroma of maple syrup and cheese sauce comingling.

I ordered a toasted veggie egg white omelette, Mac and cheese bites, and an adult thin mint milkshake for the dessert, Nutella banana stuffed french toast. The egg white omelette was good, I liked the veggies. I had to pay extra for the cheese but I got pepperjack! The home fries were okay, but nothing special. The Mac and cheese bites were good but it was weird they used spirals rather than elbow! The nacho cheese dipping sauce was good but I wish marinara was an option as well. The milk shake was good but very large! It was $ 10 but no one needs $ 10 worth of milkshake– would have been better off with a $ 5 shake. The Nutella french toast was really good, it tasted like the bananas were caramelized in honey. It looked beautiful. Overall my experience was delicious! I love the spoon wall décor and seating was spacious. The booth was kind of small but it was only 2 of us– so it was fine. I can’t wait to go back!

I’m lovin’ your brunch Dish ‘N Dat! Breakfast served at any time. This family friendly restaurant has some of the wackiest and most awesome combinations for plates, and names for the food: — The Trash Can — The Big Bowl of Fried Yumminess — The Kitchen Sink All of the above seemed to be popular for groups to share appetizers for lunch, but I settled with the 3 Amigos Burrito. This guacamole filled masterpiece was clean, not greasy and it the spot — and it came with a side of home fries. My friends ordered full stack of Berrylicious pancakes which were topped with fresh fruit and fruit drizzle… of course capped with whip cream, along with a full stack of Double Chocolate Delight Pancakes filled with chocolate chips and some extra TLC. This would be a great place to have a weekly family brunch, bring the kids too!

After a day of driving, getting stuck in traffic, taking back roads through the countryside to escape the traffic and a little more driving, I wound up in Canton and decided to give dish n dat a try. I’m glad I did. As soon as I walk in I was greeted enthusiastically. However, it wasn’t an employee who greeted me. Rather it was a guy at the bar. He was in love with the fact that I was wearing a kilt and matching socks. He was so friendly and talkative, I could barely read the menu, which was expansive and could rival the cheesecake factory’s menu for sheer volume of the items offered. After the guy stopped talking to me i ordered a burger and a white sangria. The burger arrived shortly later and I could really taste the meat. The flavor was accentuated by horseradish. I had potato salad on the side and it was average. My sangria had too much peach schnapps and too little white wine. After the meal and sangria, I ordered a shot of vodka that had been infused(on site) with pineapple it was refreshing, but if had been infused with rum, it would have been that much better. The service was good, as was the food and they old guy who liked my kilt was a pleasant surprise. I’d go back.
