Where do I begin? I won the lottery when I got Dr. DeBroeff as my eye doctor. Not only is he through, patient, pleasant and interesting — I like that he’s got a picture of his family’s ski trip on his counter — he’s a humanitarian. He has his own organization to help children, but never even boasted about it. I only found out by accident when I saw pamphlets in the waiting area. I have been to him for over 2 – 3 years. I went through a rough period and had to move suddenly. I developed first blepheritis and then a dry eye condition. I was going through some real difficulties, but he was so calm and caring that I had restored faith my health would improve. Now when I see him I eagerly get to appointments early and am happy. He is one of a select few I’ve found here in New Haven County(the others being Dr. Aliparthi, my GI dr., and Dr. Elena Ratner, who does my Gyn, at Smilow) who go above and beyond. Being excellent both in doctoring and human compassion are true gifts. Dr. DeBroeff graces this profession and anyone who sees him is lucky. It’s not surprising that he’s always rated as one of the best doctors in Connecticut by several news outlets and organizations, e.g. NOTE: He has offices in both New Haven and Stratford but I really only go to NH:
