This place is great! The chicken caesar wrap was flavorful and delicious. The juice of the day was so refreshing. The inside is very and the staff is so friendly. We also had the Nutella pizza and it’s safe to say that it’s life changing! I plan on stopping in the next time I am in new haven.

The cappuccino I had here was just what I needed after a hurried and hectic day in New York. I got back to New Haven, took a deep breath and looked for a new place to try. The atmosphere was quiet(a few students, soft music etc.) and the place was clean and inviting. The front of the space is a large glass window overlooking the street where there seems to be plenty of parking. The cappuccino was rich and hot and well put together. Often I need to add some sugar or cinnamon to a subpar cappuccino to help get it down. This one required no such assistance. The small and the medium sizes both have two shots so you can decide from there how much foam/milk you want while still getting a nice kick. The«chillness» of the atmosphere was a little too much after a while and I’m glad I ordered my drink to go. I felt a little bit like a drunk who’s wandered into a library. But that’s fine. People need to study, and in New Haven you have almost no choice but to tailor your business to the tastes and proclivities of the local students. There are a lot of nice cafés in the area, this one shouldn’t be overlooked.

I had a carrot muffin. Really good and fresh! The music here is perfect. Good mix, my kind of stuff like 90s alternative. Really chill environment.

Such an amazing place to come for food and coffee. Plus the Internet is very fast for when I need to get some things done and don’t wanna go to the library.

First off, the couple who owns and runs this place is suuuuper endearing. Second, they make an incredibly delicious egg sandwich that is pretty much unlike any other egg sandwich I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of egg sandwiches. Seriously, that bread is dank. I dig the décor/vibe in this place, though some may find that it’s trying too hard for lil old New Haven. But, I say bump that mentality; New Haven is hip. Plenty of seating in this place with free wifi, making it seemingly a great place to do work. But I will say if you’re looking for a quieter place to work, I recommend either coming here not at a mealtime because the food is so popular and draws people OR bringing some noise canceling headphones. That’s on me though, not on them. Overall, I dig this place.

Nice folks, coffee pretty bad though. Why is everything so oversized? When one asks for an Americano they don’t want a jug of coffee flavored water, they want something that feels like there was an espresso machine involved. Size should never trump quality.

Great coffee, awesome atmosphere. There is plenty of seating which is nice for just stopping in and getting some work done. The barista wasn’t overly kind or anything but the rest of the experience made up for it. I would be back here if I lived closer!

This was a beautiful little place my friend and I came across. We came in a little before they closed but the owner was more than welcoming and did not rush us at all. He was very kind and really tried to figure what I wanted since I was indecisive. Great customer service and a beautiful interior. I’ll definitely be stopping by more often.

The owners make this place a true gem. I had avocado toast with egg and juice. I initially ordered orange juice(they were out of oranges), then grapefruit juice(out again), and then pineapple juice(not enough fruit).(They freshly squeeze all their juices so they were out of the fruits, but was expecting more delivery later that morning). Finally I ordered a small size apple juice mixed with carrot juice and that was fantastic and it was even better that the owner gave me a larger size as a service. The nutty yet soft multigrain bread complimented the creamy avocado well and a hint of lemon juice and red pepper flakes gave enough kick to keep the toast exciting. Of course, fried egg on top makes everything better. I would like to try their other juices when I go there next time… Maybe I’ll try some of their muffins too. Good place for a quick yet healthy breakfast.

This is my favorite café in all of new haven. It’s a great place to have a bite to eat and get work done. I love the pastries there — the banana one is the best! I would recommend to anyone looking for a good study spot or café.

AMAZING!!! My only regret is that I didn’t have time to eat here more than once and try more menu items. I had the Egg Sandwich on an eight grain toasted bread with Veggies. It was unique and yummy! I also had the Dark Chocolate PB latte. I would love to try the Spicy Vanilla next time. The owners were super nice. The customer service was excellent. They have fresh juice, smoothies, coffee, breakfast all day, lunch and local ice cream. Don’t miss out on this gem.

This little café is a delightful treat! Warm, inviting with beautiful distressed woods and giant glass windows to people watch. The light and airy feeling is complimented by delicious fresh food and incomparable customer service. The chicken Caesar wrap was delicious and refreshing. Crisp lettuce, freshly grilled chicken and a tasty dressing was a pleasing combination and perfect for early lunch. The salted caramel latte was creamy with the perfect amount of salt. A great balance between sweet and salty and served in a giant mug. We also sampled honey vanilla ice cream and twix ice cream made by the Walnut Beach Creamery in Milford, CT. They both had a silky feel but the honey was truly the winner. Light and slightly sweet from the honey, it would make a good accompaniment to the homemade chocolate chip and pretzel cookie. They bake all their muffins and cookies! With warm and friendly service from the owners, you must make a stop if you are in New Haven! Great place to relax and enjoy a snack and drink with a friend!

I almost didn’t want to give a great review because I had an irrational fear that increasing Cedarhurst Café’s rating would draw in more patrons, thereby negatively affecting my ability to get such delicious food so promptly the next time I visit. That’s how good it is. I had a peanut butter and dark chocolate latte and an egg and cheese sandwich with avocado. Holy Mother, it was… scrumptious. They put basil pesto on the sandwich and lightly fried the bread in what tasted like garlic salt and oil. Will be returning soon.

Service was nothing above or below average. The dirty chai was… Less chai-latte-y than I was expecting but still drinkable. The avocado salad was quite good. The thing to rave about I think is the atmosphere– very clean(save a cobweb I noticed blowing on one of the plants), well air conditioned, lots of seating options, good music at a good noise level, etc.

Popped in for some lunch while on a trip. The food was lovely and the service even better. They made my British family feel very welcome.

Great little café off the main strip and possibly one of the only places you can get an honest orange juice. Great selection of cookies and biscottis as well.

Just happen to see this place and it was really cool. The owners were running the show and were so nice and accommodating. I would definitely come back here. The vibe was nice and quiet and it seems that this business supports the local art scene and that’s something that I really love!

This café has become my favorite in all of New Haven! The wood paneled floors and tall windows give this place a warm, welcoming vibe. There are plenty of tables and on a Sunday morning, I had no trouble finding a study space. For those who are looking to plug in, they had no visible outlets at the tables but there might be some on the bar tables closer to the window. I got their London Fog latte and it did not disappoint. After requesting more info about what went into it, the owner said the drink consisted of earl grey tea, vanilla, and steamed milk. After ordering, I settled into my seat and he brought it out in a steaming mug. The earl grey flavor was slightly detectable and complemented the milk well. I would order this drink again, but probably with less sugar. As for their food, I’ve only tried their blueberry muffin but it was delicious! If you decide to get this or any other muffin, I would recommend heating it up. The employees usually offer to do so and it makes a surprising amount of difference. Overall, the food, drinks, ambiance, and customer service make this café an easy go to for me.

One of my favorite coffee shops in New Haven. This place has a really great ‘rustic’ ambience(that will make sense if you’ve been here — think lots of wood). With plenty of outlets and wifi, they welcome students, but there’s usually enough seating. The coffee is great here and they bake a lot of delicious snacks. The lunch options are excellent too. I can easily see myself becoming a regular here. I wish there were more places like this in New Haven.
