A Paris café on Whitney Ave! This place is a daycation. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The staff is professional and friendly. The owner, is so gracious and hands-on making sure everything flows smoothly. We had 2 savory crapes made with buckwheat batter and a sweet crêpe for desert made from whole wheat(raspberries and white chocolate) AMAZING. Ohhhh the COFFEE!!! The best cappuccino I ever had.

Crepes Choupette is the next best thing to hopping on a plane to Europe for a lunch or brunch. I have been back multiple times and loved it each visit. The Seine galette and the café crème have been my favorites so far. The atmosphere is pleasant, the music is lovely, and the staff are efficient and kind. The owner goes out of his way to stop and each table to get genuine feedback, and his love of his craft is obvious and genuine. The only slight negative is that the place is so popular that they seem to often run short on space, but I have been able to get seats each time I’ve been, even if it is somewhat cramped. Overall, the experience here has been excellent. I plan to go back as often as possible!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was crowded. We had to wait a couple minutes for a table. The crowd was mainly due to a large party so it may not be as busy normally. The place is very cute and the owner was very accommodating trying to get us a table. We got a mochaccino and the latte– very good and comes with a tiny pirouette. We got the crêpe chouppette and complete. Their savory crepes come on buckwheat which was a pleasant surprise since we are all for being healthier. The complete was better than my fiancé’s chouppette. The complete seemed to have a more substantial amount of filling and my crêpe was softer. There were some bites that had a little too much grated pepper. The chouppette crêpe was overcooked and not a lot of filling but good flavor. They were not super filling as a meal, but were perfect for a light snack. Would probably come here again.

The food tastes nice, atmosphere is calm and relaxing, but the price of the food, to me, is really expensive. I spent over 17 dollars on a crêpe and a salad — too me, that is something I cannot afford!

Atmosphere: Relaxed, bistro style, small tables with French music playing in the background. Service: Fantastic! Friendly server, very fast to take orders. Crêpe also came out very fast. Kind of cool to watch them make them right in the middle of the shop. Owner walks around, checking on tables, made you feel welcome. Espresso: Fantastic cappuccino, haven’t had one that good in a while. Crêpe: I tried the Complete which was good but not great. There was very little filling, appeared empty when it arrived at the table. I watched a few of the sweet crepes come out of the kitchen, they appeared to have more filling, especially the fruit-filled ones. Also, the sweet crepes had more of the color I expect for crepes, mine was darker in color and tasted different than I have had at other places(used a different grain maybe?). Next time I will try the sweet crepes. Overall, great atmosphere, service, and espresso but next time I might go for a sweet crêpe over the savory.

These crepes are amazing. I’ve had the Amour et Jalousie Crêpe(with nutella, bananas and strawberries) and the Traditionnelle Crêpe(with butter & sugar). And I have to say — I’m addicted — not only to the crepes, the service is also wonderful. Adil is a warm, beautiful person(the first time I walked in, he introduced himself and we had a small chat) and Aurelium has helped me the couple of times I’ve been — she’s knowledgeable and friendly(and okay, I admit I go back sometimes just to look at her, shhh). I love the style of the place; it feels like home. What a refreshing experience — please do yourself a favor and stop in. If you don’t know what to get, they’ll definitely help you. The prices are somewhere in the mid-range(but, c’mon, these are normal New Haven prices) however when you bite into it, you’ll realize where the value lies. Enjoy!

CREPES=AMAZING. First of all let me start by saying I am a picky eater, and do not like to venture out into other cultures to try anything food wise. Before stepping into Crepes Choupette, I never had a crêpe in my life. Not even a breakfast crêpe. My co-worker and I went for lunch and I was so presently surprised. They have savory(more like a meal) and sweet(more like a dessert). The savory are made with buckwheat, while sweet are made with wheat.(The waitress brought me up to speed on this, don’t give me too much credit.) I ordered the special which was egg, cheese, sausage and basil and it was amazing. The actual crêpe is made right in front of you(if you sit at the high top bar area) and you can watch them work their magic. I also had their soup de jour, which was a delicious Tuscan Bean, which could have used some salt but I love salt– very good and large portion(See photo). My co-worker had the mozz and tomato crêpe– and loved it too. We also both ordered cappuccino(See photo) and her’s came out with a little heart, mine a little tree design– boy do they get me with those(how do they do that anyways?!) The owner was also there(Adil) who introduced himself and was there the entire time helping his staff, and also overseeing everything with the tables to make sure everyone was satisfied. This little place is nothing to be overlooked, and as you can tell from their already great 5– star rating, they will be in New Haven for some time to come. I am glad this place is successful already, and it is because of their friendly staff, great service and amazing food. I wish when I was in college, a place like this was around so I could sit there, do work and not be bothered. They also have some nice music, and cute décor that anybody would really enjoy.

The Kids and I couldn’t wait to try this place. Staff was very patient as we deliberated over which crepes to try. Of course, the Nutella, Banana crêpe won but we also really enjoyed the savory ones. Wish we had photos but we devoured them to quickly! There’s a Cute and cozy feel to the place. Owner is friendly and energetic… With his hands on personality this place will be a great success! Just what New Haven needed.

We had heard about the yummy Crêpe Cart in New Haven and found out they had open store front. The whole family had crepes sitting at the counter area looking over making of the crepes. The staff was inviting and warm. We also had great expresso drinks and hot chocolate. Put this on your must stop when looking for good eats in New Haven.

Great environment with friendly servers. Tried Nutella, Banana and Strawberry one, and my friend tried Mozza, Tomato one. Both of them were pretty good. The price is a little too high but still acceptable.

I was going to have some cheap Chinese food at the Great Wall restaurant but it closes on Mondays :-(I walked down the Whitney Ave to find others things to eat. This cute little café caught my attention. I went in thought it will have some light lunch with artisan coffee. Surprisingly found they only have crepes(yes, I didn’t read their name before I went in) I love crepes so it is perfect(However I’m afraid I’ll be hungry again very soon). My Brie and Fig crepes is perfect. I believe the dough is made with buckwheat. I saw other customers have cappuccino with beautiful milk art. I’m going again to try the salad and cappuccino :-)

After a year and half living in NHV, I still have a hard time getting to love this city. However, discovering places like this does help the cause. These are seriously delicious crepes and I assume part of the flavor comes from the care and passion they are made with. In addition to the crepes, coffee is outstanding. Hope they keep up with the fantastic job.

Stopped in here on a whim and was not disappointed. I am a sucker for traditional French culture and this place is a charming café located right in the bustle of lower Whitney avenue. The décor is very reminiscent of a traditional French café and when all the employees behind the counter are speaking French you get the feeling you’re in for something different. They didn’t disappoint. I got a crêpe with tomato basil and mozzarella, their Italian crêpe(I can’t say or spell the actual French name) and it was great. I was a little sceptical of what kind of crêpe I would get with those ingredients, my impression of crepes being that they are generally a breakfast food. I could not have been more wrong. The crêpe was delicious and exactly what I was looking for. They use some kind of buckwheat flour for the crêpe itself and its perfectly thin and has a great consistency. The espresso drink I had was also excellent. Highly recommend.

What a joy! We have been to the brick and mortar location several times and it is already a new favorite. Delicious crepes, lovely staff and a passionate owner committed to making his guests feel welcome and cared for. Just perfect! Fantastique.

What an amazing treat to stumble on at the corner of Wall Street and College! Choupette uses superior quality ingredients to fill their crepes, and the batter itself tastes very light and refined. I also like how flexible they are in letting you substitute ingredients so, for instance, you can switch turkey for ham, goat cheese for brie, etc. A savory crêpe will run you about $ 7, and it feels adequately filling as a stand-alone lunch item. The crêpe artists(crêpe-istas?) are efficient and chatty in a pleasant way. My only wish? That they would sell a few beverages on the cart(water? lemonade? seltzer?).

Love the restaurant version of this very popular New Haven food cart. The restaurant is adorably decorated and has a decent amount of seating as well as to-go waiting area. The staff is friendly and generous(the owner Adil brings out tiny dessert spoons for those that dine-in). Some of the staff still seems to be getting the groove of juggling multiple tasks, but that is to be expected from a new restaurant. Really, my only complaint is that this place lacks vegetables. Only 2 of their crepes come with any sort of vegetable(the choupette has arugula and the Italian-style crêpe has tomatoes on it), and there is no side-salad option. I mean, I love meat and cheese as much as the next blue-blooded American, but there is nothing to bulk up the meal and make you feel satiated. Even though I’m positive a crêpe is a decent amount of caloric intake, after one I feel like I need 2 more to be full. Maybe this is also a side-effect of being a new restaurant and the creperie will be able to expand its menu with time.

I am not one for savory crepes. Growing up getting a crêpe was a special treat after a long day of shopping with my mother at the Kings Plaza Mall. I’m sure that little spot is long gone. But the memories are not. I’ve even dined on crepes in Paris. With that said, it’s early in the morning yesterday so I am hungry. I happen upon this lovely crêpe cart. But feeling a little irresponsible if I have a Nutella crêpe at 9:30 am. I go for the ham, egg and goat cheese option. I can not describe the wonderful surprise. I loved every bite. I even saved half for later(I tend to do that when I don’t want the fun to end). Fresh ingredients and not as heavy as I thought it would be. The crêpe is a bit too big for the container they provide and I am not a fan of eating while walking down the street but whatever. I dealt with it. The young lady who waited on me was as nice as she could be. Next week I will definitely go for the sweet crêpe. I hear they are opening a storefront. Woo hoo, indeed.
