This Subway is just south of the tunnel on the Cross Highway in New Haven. If you’re traveling north and take the exit, make a right and then go about a quarter mile, get in the left turn lane and enter Whalley Commons shopping center. The restaurant is a regular stop for me when I’m traveling. The staff are efficient if not particularly friendly. I think I drew a smile from the crew member who served me today, but there was an obnoxious co-​worker, perhaps the manager, sitting in the dining area speaking loudly in an angry tone. The food is reliably fresh and well prepared. The bathrooms are clean.
