They can’t handle the lunchtime rush and do takeout orders first so if you order in you’ll still be there an hour later listening to the ESPN ads wondering if you should just grab someone’s takeout order and run. All that waiting for some soggy, lukewarm wings is just not worth it.

I LOVE wings. I LOVE the sauces at Wings Over, and the chicken is always very good. So high stars for that part. And I realize it’s a tiny joint on a busy street, and by far the best close option to me. BUT. The service lacks, they have not ever once gotten a complete order correct, and wtf on the celery. Can you spare it?! I decided to try delivery last night, since I live close enough. 60 wings for a few of us, with 5 different sauces. I get that the kids on the phone are kids, and I sympathize with the fact that math and listening can be hard for some people. But this was an online order so there shouldn’t be any mistakes. 1⁄3 of the wings were the wrong sauce, and we had to taste and try to figure out what it was. The receipt wasn’t much help either, since it just showed quantities for some of them, including the mystery sauce. The delivery guy called us again to deliver a pizza, which was also odd. If the service were a bit more capable(read: at all capable), it might make the experience better, but like I said. The wings are good and it’s the closest option I’ve got, so I just have to suck it up.

The Wings Over brand is my favorite wing spot. This location is relatively convenient, near the 91 highway on ramp, and my order is always smile making. Honey Mustard is my go to and Garlic Parmesan is my second. Sweet chili is my new favorite however. It may be important to note, I only go for Bone In wings. I do not vouch for the tenders nonsense. Tenders have their place, but they aren’t wings to me. The cartilage of a Wing is part of the meat.

Aside from Archie Moore’s, these are the tasty wings around. And they have a fast and efficient delivery service. Spicy is the way to go!

I personally loved this place. The wings were fantastic and were some of the best I have ever had. The different deals they had were nice to choose from. The negative reviews I think we’re expecting a little too much from a small place that serves mainly wings. You are not getting to get Ruth Chris style service from a wing restaurant with an airplane theme. If you are just looking for a quick bite and getting wings then you will love it! I know I did. Stay Classy Wings Over!

Takes an hour to get food after being told its gonna be 15 mins. Secondly, the cashier asks for tips which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Your not getting gratuity for ringing up my order.

Accidentally placed an order incorrectly. Manager James was incredibly helpful and friendly. Great wings as usual.

I don’t think the person running the cash register could read english or maybe he just didn’t know how to work the register. Or maybe he didn’t hear me because the TV tuned to ESPN was so loud I had to almost shout my order, multiple times. Either way, he looked confused about his job. All I wanted was some Buffalo wings with Blue cheese sauce. Simple. After I walked a mile home I realized I was given BBQ wings with Ranch sauce. I ate them, because I didn’t want to make another 2 mile trip to exchange. They were mediocre. Most of the sauce had dripped out of the box and into the bag by the time I got home anyway.

Let me preface my review with this: I’ve had orders from Wings Over that have been fine. But my experience on Friday evening was less than stellar. I arrived home later than usual, realizing I didn’t have anything to make dinner nor did I have the energy. So I ordered a buffalo wrap from Wings Over via GrubHub. My food came in the amount of time predicted, but about halfway through eating my wrap, I realized that the chicken had a slightly weird texture. I picked through the wrap, and took out pieces that seemed a bit off, but eventually stopped eating. Within an hour, I was not feeling well at all, and clearly had a case of food poisoning. I was up a couple of times throughout the night, and it took until mid-day the next day to really feel like myself. Now I understand that these things happen, but given that I’ve ordered from them a couple of times, I decided to call to see if there was a possibility for a refund and just to let them know that this had happened. The person I spoke with was short, asked to confirm my phone number and order, and told me I would be contacted within a few hours once they had decided what to do. No apology, nothing. I realize this is an awkward phone call for whoever answers, but a quick sorry doesn’t hurt. It’s now been 24 hours and I’ve not heard a word from Wings Over. While I’d like to say I’d not be hesitant to order again, that would be a bit of a lie. So for Friday’s experience? 1 star. For the other times I’ve ordered from Wings Over, I’ll bring it up to 2. But I’m not impressed.

I had been craving wings for a while so discovering Wings Over right across the street from where I was studying was a godsend. Their menu offers various combo options as well as a variety of flavors including garlic parmesan(my fave!) and honey bbq. We asked the server which flavors she recommended and she patiently waited while we tried to get the perfect balance of sauces(there are a lot of choices!). Their waffle fries are also delicious and come with a side of ranch, bleu cheese, or both(perfect for y’all who are indecisive like I am). There was plenty of seating when I went around 2pm and if you don’t feel like making it out to this part of campus, you can order online as well.

Ordered off Grubhub and food was delivered 10 earlier than estimated. Ordered the Hangar 1 combo. Weighed in at 1.8 pounds total(everything in the box except the soda). The Cajun waffle fries were a little soft, but tasty. I got 8 «boneless wings», which are the size of tenders(not like BBW boneless, which are smaller). The garlic parmesan is like a rub and the chicken was still crispy. The cruisin’ altitude buffalo was not that spicy and was soggy from the sauce. Not bad, would probably get again with dry rub flavors.

Well, even as a vegetarian I knew I had to stop in when I saw Wings Over New Haven. Though wings are the specialty, the menu is more extensive. Not any veggie items but the best waffle fries I’ve ever had! The restaurant is clean & bright; the staff are cheerful & welcoming. I would give 5 stars if there were any vegetarian offerings!(BTW, caesar salad is NOT vegetarian; it has anchovies in the dressing…)

A cute little place with AMAZING garlic parmesan wings :) The woman who was working behind the counter was extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing that would make it better is if their dipping sauces were homemade.

When I saw the Wings Over sign pop up this summer I was extraordinary thrilled. I used to frequent Wings Over Hamden and was quite depressed when they closed and would always order from Wings Over Storrs When I visited friends up at Uconn. Seeing as how this is a chain I expected their food to be fairly consistent. The other Wings Over locations had really large sized tender wings with really good sauce flavors. What the hell happened here? Their wings are, meh. Not totally inedible but definitely not impressive at all. While they have lots of flavor options, I’ve tried a bunch of them after having to eat 30 pounds of wings from a groupon and none of them stood out at me as being impressive. The wings itself were much smaller than I remembered, not as tender, and kinda dry. If you’re craving wings in New Haven I suggest S’wings instead. If you must eat here the ribs aren’t half bad.

And then when they asked the manager if they could deliver to me… he said it depends on how much you order!!! REALLYUNPROFESSIONAL! I am having some friends over & I was going to order about $ 60 worth of food but they just screwed that up. Never again…

So disappointing! We had a Groupon for this place(spend $ 15, get $ 30 of food) and were so incredibly disappointed I’m going to contact Groupon for a refund. This was some of the lowest quality food we have ever had. The celery sticks were thin, wilted, brown, and it was obvious they had been cut quite a while ago. The cup of blue cheese«dressing» that clearly said«keep refrigerated» arrived warm. The boneless wings — essentially chicken fingers — were soggy and had no flavor. The fries and onion rings were soggy, flavorless, and all-around awful. you would be better getting some frozen food at Walmart and baking it at home on a cookie sheet. Skip this and go elsewhere. We ended up calling the manager to complain about the poor quality of food, a lost delivery driver, and incorrect charges on our receipt. He was cool and offered us a free future meal. I’m not sure I want to give this place another chance, but at least he tried to help make up for our poor experience.

Yes, wait times are longer than normal, but they do give you the heads up when you order, so that seems fair. I ordered the spiciest buffalo wings they had(not sure which themed name they were, maybe air bomber wings or something). They were definitely pretty large, moist, and fresh. Not super spicy(S’wings would have called these medium), but I was really sort of put off by the flavor. They had a very strong tomato note. Fries were nothing to rave about, either. Standard issue crinkle fries so not a ton of flavor. I think I’ll give it another shot some day but my first impression was lukewarm.

My sister raves about Wings Over Storrs and I figured I’d give this place a try since I live a block away. I was coming from the bar so I figured being tipsy would enhance the food’s flavor like it usually does. Staff is friendly as hell. Ordered wings to go. They taste like every other cheap wing delivery place I’ve eaten at. They’re, at best, ok. When it comes to wings, I’m never going to come back here. I’ll spend a little more and go to JP Dempsey’s or Archie Moores’.

Wandering around on a beautiful spring day, I came across this new installation for lunch. Now i’m aware«Wings Over» is a chain, but i’ve never partook, usually because better than«chain» wings could be found, and i’m partial to J Tim’s in the central part of the state. I decided to give a try, service was a bit slow(15 mins for sandwich & fries), but was worth it. My buffalo chicken sandwich held together well, and the chicken was crispy, eventhough it was soaked in sauce, and not dried out, it was perfectly tender & juicy all the the way through. The bun held up up well, although the fries were a bit soggy, but thats to be expected, I did walk 4 blocks back to my office. Overall a good experience, $ 7.50 for sandwich & fries. I would return.
