I wanted a change of scenery, where I could work on my manuscript in a studious yet sophisticated environment. *wink wink*
I was getting use to the state school library, plus I wanted to check the food down here. :)
It’s pretty nice looking. It has the feel of traditional, especially with the art and architecture of the library. Many old books on shelves to read. It kind of reminded me of UConn Law, an archaic type of feel.
The areas in which you see the photos I uploaded is for quiet study. Basically I could hear a pin drop. I believe they still need more updating in terms of electrical outlet placements, but there is this one hall of tables that have built in outlets that will suit you fine.
The library staff are pretty friendly and helpful.

Sterling Memorial Library is the best place to do homework! It’s huge and you will never have trouble finding a quiet place! It has individual study carrels, group study rooms, huge reading rooms, and the huge towering stacks infinitely full of books! The architecture inside and out is beautiful, intricate, and stunning. The staff is incredibly amiable and helpful. I also like how it connects to Bass underground library. Bonus: It’s open to like 1 AM!
Note: Not open for tours due to renovations last I checked.

Amazing.
This place is absolutely amazing.
If I had the chance, I would just stay here an entire day. First of all, the architecture is stunning. From the outside, it’s a huge brick edifice that looks rather churchlike, in a Renaissance sort of way.
On the inside, it’s pretty much the same. Simultaneously, it’s easy to forget you’re NOT at Hogwarts. Dim lighting, extremely high ceilings, gold leafing, intricacies, the works.
Where an altar might be is the check-​out desk. Literally an homage – a temple – to learning. Above it sits an enormous iconographic piece of people holding books. I find this both humorous and profound.
You could get lost in the many hallways and stairwells and rooms full of books and newspapers from around the world.
Like I said, this place is amazing, and not to be missed if you visit the Yale campus.
