Ziggy’s Pizza Restaurant

I sure hope their pizza is better than their dinners because the 2 dinners I just ordered were horrible. I ordered Chicken Parm w/​spaghetti. The pasta was over cooked and dry. I had to add more sauce just to eat it. Their Chicken Parm turned out to be some kind of chicken fries hidden under mozzarella cheese. The 2^nd dinner same way, over cooked spaghetti and very little sauce. Then on top of it they forgot the soda. Came back after I had finished eating.
If I could have given this place a 0 they would have gotten it.

Order a pizza an wasn’t happy called to complain the dumb lady that answers the phone tells me she’s going to call the owner an the manager about the situation an she would call me back or have one of them call me. Why did I get a call from the a driver. About my complaint saying he going to do this an that to me don’t now body Fuck with him. I got the voice mail to prove it. To bad I can post it. Oh an he drives a Black Avalanche Truck.

HORRIBLE.
They were out of what we ordered, but didn’t call us for about twenty minutes.
When I told the girl that I am vegetarian, she offered me… HAM. She also refused to let me talk to the manager.
I’d ordered through grubhub, and she told me that that is how I’d have to get back my money. The number she gave me was out of service. Figures. Doesn’t seem like Ziggy’s can get anything right.

I would give this place a half star rating… my son just placed a large order for 9 people. Most of the order were correct except for 2 orders of buffalo wings. One was 8pc & the other 12 pc both with blue cheese dressing & celery. Only 1 order with 16 pc was delivered minus the bc dsg & celery. Son & friends had also requested to pay by card but no cc info was exchanged. So delivery man arrived with order, kids had to scramble cash to pay & managed to tip driver 20%. When we called back to request correct order for buffalo wings to be delivered, a young woman’s voice who refused to give her name was so rude & said, how would they know if the chicken wings count was as we had stated? & had we eaten them already. I said we can save the wings & have driver count them. We just want the correct amount & dressing delivered. When I asked for her name, she hanged up. Minutes later, delivery was made with 7 wings & small container of dressing. Honestly, I have a bad feeling about the poor customer service that I think the subsequent delivered food is tainted. Also, my son’s friend said that they always never gave the right amount of order when they do. Could this be a scam to give less for what’s paid for? There was no receipt given for this transaction which was brought to their attention. This establishment must be under new ownership coz the previous owners would never run their business in such a shabby manner.

I guess it would be unfair to give them anything less than three stars… after all, the pizza was quite good. And when two pretty large slices plus a can of soda costs you $ 4.50 (=$ 4.20 plus tax), you can’t ignore such an excellent lunch deal.
But I must mention that they did kinda mess with my lunch break today.
I was in at 11:35 AM, so I can understand that they would have to start making pizzas if they wanted to serve me. But don’t lie to me and tell me it’s going to take «ten minutes» if that was going to be the plan, which I didn’t know at the time. It took at least 25 to prepare the pizza, put it in the oven, and package it for me. And even so, the dough was a little underdone… not inedible, but noticeable.
The counter dude did apologize for the wait. At least they recognized their blunder.
There’s plenty of seats, but I wouldn’t call it a pleasant environment to sit in… blue collar at best. Understandable given most of their business probably comes from takeout/​delivery.

Nothing but Yum! We order weekly from Zig’s! Best Pizza on the Quinnipiac! Both the river & Avenue!

Never being there personally but I had their pizza deliver to me on several occasions, crust too thin for my taste but overwhelm with flavors, just recently had my first tomato pizza from them and I love it…

When we first moved here a few years back, we tried to get Ziggy’s with some regularity, just to support the closest shop. The pizza’s really just average, though, and after they yelled at my wife for trying to use a credit card, we’re over it. We go to Minervini’s now.

Their pizza is what I like to call «just good enough.» You can get a large pie and a 2-​liter bottle of soda for $ 8 on Tues-​Weds-​Thurs.
I had a boyfriend who was all about ‘em, but I’d usually try to talk him out of it.
