Went here last night with my wife and son for the first time to celebrate Father day. We all had the Caesar Salad. It was very good. I had the rack of lamb. I’d say it was cooked to perfection — perfectly medium rare. The accompanying sauce was divine. My wife had the pork chop — she loved it. Son had the Salmon — he devoured it. We were servered by Gail. She was as friendly and attentive as can be. Wonderful place that I will be be frequenting.

While we like this restaurant’s vibe, brunch was a dissapointment for me. While ice tea’s preperation was beautiful –hot tea o top of a pitcher of ice which the patron prepares– irs a terrible way to make ice tea. Cooling down hot tea over ice creates a cloudy, somewhat sour ice tea. Better to make hot tea and cool to room temperature before going over ice. My hamburger was ordered medium well done. It came raw and cold in the center. Waitress took it off the bill. Overall we like this restaurant but it’s a mixed result most of the half a dozen times we have eaten here.

This restaurant is so good, everything you order is mouth watering. It is not that expensive and is BYOB. You won’t be disappointed !

I think the food quality has gone way down these days. I’ve been there a dozen times and the last 3 were not that great at all. For the entrees, anyway. And the pre fixe prices mean nothing when 80% of the menu has an add on charge to each dish. And French? I think not.

Came here on Saturday. From house made breads to farm fresh vegetables to mouth watering meats and seefood, the meals here are cooked with love and care and won’t break the bank. Two course prix fixe is $ 26 for two courses and $ 32 for three courses. I ended up getting a Caesar salad, rack of lamb, and cheese cake — all of it was delicious. It’s clear that the people running the place know good food and how to provide good service. Truly a gem… oh and it’s BYOB. The only downside to this place is that it’s on the small side, so you’ll most likely need a reservation and even with one, you may have to wait, but it truly is a small price to pay!

Very shocked I didn’t enjoy it more. Ambiance is nice, staff was nice food was OK. I got zippidy salad light and fresh but not a Caesar, jambalaya was good, cheesecake was sub par and coffee was good. All in all mediocre.

The food was excellent, but I’d like to review the service here, specifically. This evening I had the pleasure of dining at Café Blue Moose with my dear friend Joseph. I was wearing a t-shirt from one of my favorite cafes in New Orleans called the Sneaky Pickle. Our host noticed the name and I explained how both Joseph and I were big fans of pickled vegetables, and that we were looking forward to their dish with cheese and pickled beets(delicious by the way). After the first course, much to our surprise, we received an amuse bouche of delicious fried pickles complete with dipping sauce. It was so incredibly thoughtful and completely made our evening! I’d highly recommend their service.

We had the best breakfast ever, it was so good that we went back the next day! I love this little funky place(love the tin grater lamps) with excellent service starting from the hostess to our waitress, delicious food and coffee(the best whipped cream too) plus it’s very clean! ! I read the owner’s story and was very impressed with his dedication and perseverance since he was a teen making this restaurant what it is today! I live an 1.5 away, but we will be back soon!

Legend tells of a mythologic Blue Moose that traveled the spiritland and Doan hills around New Hope and the north river highlands. From time immemorial it was the guardian that helped those hurt by natural, supernatural and even manmade acts, survive and repair their damaged bodies and souls. Its gifts to all were amazing strength, nurturing support and a supply of local foodstuff to aid in recovery. It was also known for dexterity on the mandolin. It seldom took sides. It was only there to observe and assist with sustenance and music. Over the centuries Blue Moose has taken various forms animate and inanimate. An accomplished shape shifter, it appeared when the need was dire in a form acceptable in the current cultural milieu. It helped sustain our men during the Revolution, and helped build the longboats that made the Christmas eve crossing. Currently, it assumed the guise of a restaurant in a small old house on Mechanic Street in New Hope, Pa. Always brash, it has not bothered to hide its identity. It sits in plain sight. Café Blue Moose welcomes all to rest within its aging walls and taste its well honed victuals at any of its tables. It was within these atmospherics that we arrived for an early dinner last Friday evening, climbed the stairs to the second floor and took control of the middle table overlooking the open space down to the front room. Open paper umbrellas hung down gently spinning in the air currents. Stars were painted on the exposed cathedral ceiling. Period pieces on the walls completed the sense that we were encouraged to take leave of normalcy and enter the world of whimsy, where we could best appreciate the decompression from reality. BYOB aided the transformation. Our servers were lighthearted and sincere. The menu a prix fixe affair allowing choices in any combination of Apps/Salad/Soups, Entrees, and Desserts that added up to 2 or 3. Our choices were to share a Warm Goat Cheese Salad; Braised Short Ribs and Sautéed Salmon; and a Apple Crisp finale. The salad was a nice green plate with local leaves, Hazelnuts, sliced tart Green Apple and Dried Cherries in Balsamic Vinaigrette. A round fried Goat Cheese ball was indeed hot, smooth, and subtle. The parts played very well together and was a delight. The Short Rib was already off bone having bathed a few hours in red wine and garlic. The meat was sitting atop Garlic Mashed, and under a strong helping of Pickled Cabbage and Carrots. The taste was mildly sweetly vinegar inspired, and completely pliant. The Mashed and Rib sauces were blood brothers, bringing the best of both when combined. Symbiotic to the max. The Salmon was a reasonably sized steak on top of small grain White Rice Risotto. It, too, had a pickled topside that tasted of onion/mango, but was likely something else. It was finished well and easy to eat, although there with an unidentifiable aftertaste that was less enjoyable than the primary sensation. A small nit in an otherwise inspired meal. Finally, the Warm Apple Crisp was a fun crunchy a la mode mess with an oat/brown sugar crumble that was a joyful indulgence. All the while, Blue Moose played his music in the background, completing a near-epic experience. His mandolin put aside for a heavy bass line for rock melodies that soothed and awakened appreciation of meal and history. As we stepped out into the snowfall and gathered our memories of what had just transpired, the sense that Big Blue was with us in deed and spirit was palpable. We thanked him for his faithfulness and skilled metamorphosis into a shelter that was exactly what was needed in this age of doubt and cynicism.

I came here for brunch without a reservation and it was about a 20 minute wait. It’s really interesting that the restaurant is youth run. The butternut squash soup was delicious and sweet potato fries are crispy without being too greasy. I didn’t love the breakfast burrito(not a fan of the chorizo and there was too much hard chewy tortilla) but the almond croissant french toast is so good. I’m obsessed with almond croissants though. I’d love to try this place for dinner next time!

I came here last month for my anniversary dinner with my fiancé. Everything was exceptional from start to finish. To start I ordered the brie and for my main entrée I got the braised short ribs. The short ribs were fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, and cooked to perfection. The chocolate mousse for dessert was decadent and added a boost of euphoria to an already perfect meal. Bravo café blue moose, I will be back :) Now for the practical stuff : — This restaurant is BYOB so bring drinks — I highly suggest calling for a reservation even on a Wednesday night it was packed –I suggest ordering from the prix fixe menu, three courses for $ 30 –Very cozy inside small seating areas both down and upstairs perfect for couples and small groups of friends –Closed on Tuesdays

I’ve been waiting to try this place for several years. The closest I came was sampling their food at the last 3 Epicurean events held at GFS. We planned ahead on being nearby on Black Friday, so I called for a reservation days in advance. The only option left was to sit outside on their deck, with warm weather expected and the knowledge that they had heaters I went for it. We arrived on time and were informed we could sit inside due to a cancellation, but after walking out onto the skate we decided to dine open air. The interior would have been nice too, quirky and cute touched abounded. But there is something special about fresh air and food, and the heaters made it really cozy out there. They offer 3 course menus which start at $ 28 on week nights and then $ 32 on weekends. Some of the options have a slight up charge, but there are still good choices if you want to stay at that price point. Trish selected sweet potato nachos and a seasonal gnocchi dish that contained spinach and pumpkin. The nachos were very good, definitely not your typical messy dish. Each component contributed to the whole, and a nice size even for sharing. The pasta was very good too, nice cheese sauce and perfect bite to the doughy pillows. Our excellent waitress Meghan recommended the crab cake, I informed her that while I love me some CC’s, I’m also a snob and hardly ever like them unless I am near the Chesapeake. She told me she is as well, ok I’ll bite. I also ordered the baked Brie. Both of these had slight uncharged, $ 2 or $ 3 each. The cheese was very good, gooey and topped with cooked apple and pumpkin seeds. I was pleased with the large amount of toasted bread that came with it, 8 or more crunchy and seasoned slices and just the right amount to use up all the Brie. The crab cake was one of the best I’ve had in years(in this area) and to be honest may be the best I’ve tasted in the Pa area. It was topped with a delicious avocado and corn salsa and served on top of a tasty and bright carrot sauce. The mashed potatoes that came with it were fair but only slightly warm, and the seasonal veggies were grilled perfectly. We shared our desserts, a perfectly executed and larger than average crème brûlée and a chèvre brownie that was divine. These desserts would be in the $ 10 range at other nearby spots. All items on the menu are available a la carte, but get the 3 course. This restaurant has a very interesting origin story, and that was one of my original reasons for wanting to try it. I now think that the food tells its own story. As I was considering my review I knew it was at least 4.5 stars, but as I pondered the other options in this town, and the price to quality ratio of this BYOB, I knew I had to go to 5.

Can I say ‘holy mother of God!!!” on here? Just another reason to love New Hope! To me, a perfect dining experience! From when we walked in to the understated, yet trendy ambiance to our friendly waitress, divine dishes and cozy & charming outside seating, this was a definite 5 star restaurant! The plain looking rolls turned out to be croissant like ones in disguise and sooo good. My sweet potato topped nachos were sensational and my entrée?!! Forget it! Soooooo stinkin delicious! Gnocchi with spinach and pumpkin in a light cheese sauce. My ‘crab cake snob’ beau had the crab cake, per our waitress’s recommendation. He was not disappointed in the least. I tried a bite as well — excellent and barely(if any?) filler. Desserts we shared were an excellent crème brûlée and a brownie with a cheese topping & a scoop of vanilla ice-cream(see pix!). Save your $ and take a trip for a fun day to New Hope and an excellent meal :)

Had a fantastic pre-fixe dinner here tonight. $ 24 for two courses, x 2 people. We chose 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 dessert, $ 48. Well worth it. The salad came out quickly. However, the wait for our 2nd course was very long(somewhere around 20 minutes) and that’s the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. That and that we weren’t offered sofa refills. Butter for our bread was so tasty. Really. Try it. The ceasar Salad was great! It had bits of hass avocados and grape tomatoes in it. Unsual in a Caesar salad but a welcome surprise. I really enjoyed this salad. The Chicken Marsala was VERYGOOD. The chicken was perfectly cooked yet extremely tender. Possibly the best chicken I’ve ever had. It had just the right amount of mushrooms on top. I enjoyed the rice snd sauteed zucchini/squash that was served with it. I tasted a bit of the Braised Shortrib and it did not disappoint. Crème Brulee was so good! I almost liked the plate clean.

Located in the cute town of New Hope. I came upon this cute breakfast spot thanks to my fellow Unilocalers. They have optional seating on the first floor, second floor and the balcony which is located on the second floor. Great breakfast selection I went for the eggs Benny which was very tasty and spot on. If your an eggs Benedict breakfast person like myself then the eggs Benny is the choice to go with. I would make the 60 mile drive for the eggs Benny since they were just that good. The décor is interesting and cool the ceiling lights are made out of cheese graders which I thought was a very cool concept. Friendly customer service, all in all a great breakfast and I left as one happy customer. This place should definitely be on everybody’s bucket list of places to eat at.

I’ve been waiting to go here for so long and finally made it. I once tried to go for Sunday brunch but was told the wait was an hour so I gave up but I went back on a Saturday. The place wasn’t crowded at all to my surprise! We were seated right away. Phew. We sat outside on a beautiful day and had a great experience. I ordered the French omelette with pepper jack cheese and tomatoes. It came with fruit salad, home fries, and a choice of toast or a pastry. It was the best omelette I’ve ever had in my life! The eggs were so fluffy and perfectly cooked that I don’t think I can have omelettes anywhere else again. Still dreaming about it. My friend ordered an omelette with a scone. I wish I ordered the scone instead of toast because it was so fluffy and scrumptious, and I don’t even like scones. Dying to come back… best brunch place ever. The awesome reviews are there for a reason!
