Wow. Totally jipped on chicken. The food is really good, but the amount of chicken in my to-go order is almost insulting. Not too happy right now, and debating on whether to be a repeat customer.

I went to buffey and it is the worst i ever had in US. Trust me, this is not indian food. I am surprised to see the reviews. Rice and soup are worst and all are very low quality food. Never visit this place again.

Jaffron is a small Indian eatery in the downtown section of New Hope. I enjoy Indian food and have dinned at many great places in NYC, Philly and Edison NJ. Jaffron has superb food, friendly service and they even deliver in the New Hope area. I have enjoyed the Samosas, Chicken Tikka Massala, Chicken Jalfrezi, Lamb Vindalo, Garlic Naan and Chili Naan.

I am so sorry to leave this review, but folks this is not an Indian restaurant!!! Please please please don’t insult one of greatest cuisines! A few days ago I did a dinner take out from here. We threw away 90%of the food. It was terrible. My family chose milk and cereal over this take out. I am pretty sure the owner and the cook are not Indian. From listening to them talk… Bangladesh probably. That’s perfectly fine if they served Indian food. You can’t call something Indian by using ketchup and adding masalas to it. Don’t waste your money or appetite. The rotis were so hard, I could not break it. If you don’t mind driving up to sommerville circle, please check out hurry chutney on Rt 206. Worth the drive. I have eaten at the cross culture in Lambertville as well… again not really Indian. Heavily Americanized fusion food and so expensive too!!! What will it take for a real Indian place to open up in this area?

Terrible service and raw chicken! Got both our order wrong and the table next to us. Food took a very long time and waiter did not check up on us. When food finally did come, cut into the chicken and it was raw. Too many good restaurants in New Hope to waste time here again.

Price point was good. Ordered take out the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, naan, samosa, and alo papdi chat. The palek paneer, naan, and samosa turned out good. We were sadly disappointed in in the chicken tikka masala and the alo papdi chat. The chicken tikka masala literally had 7 small pieces of chicken, and was the most soupy consistency I have ever had. The alo papdi chat was missing all its sauces. No yogurt with mint no tamarind nada. Just a container with diced potatoes, chick peas, and fried crispies. The items they did do correctly were on point. Missed the mark sadly with 2 rather important items.

It was delicious… we had chicken tikka masala and naan bread. Very affordable and service was great. I can’t wait to go back.

Excellent Indian food, chicken korma was the best I’ve ever had! Very flavorful and creamy. Naan was made to order and the garlic naan came with fresh herbs. Chicken vindaloo was good and spicy but not overly so. Look forward to another visit to try more items on the menu.

This was my first time here. Had the chicken korma and it was tremendous — one of the best I’ve had for sure. Garlic naan was unreal. The service was friendly and accommodating. The dining area was clean and décor was nice. I will definitely be back, and I have a feeling that this will be a regular spot for me. I highly recommend that you check this place out if you are in New Hope.

Friendly staff and pretty good food. This area is very beautiful but finding good food after 9pm can be a challenge. I wouldn’t hesitate to give this place a try.

We were in the mood for Indian and Jaffron was a wonderful surprise. Doesn’t look like much from the outside and is low key inside. We wanted to try dishes that were new to us rather than our usual favorites. The waiter suggested an appetizer of Alo Papdi Chat, which is diced potatoes, chickpeas, fry Krispies topped with yogurt, mint, tamarind chutney. We really enjoyed it. Lots of complex flavor and textures. The Lamb Saag and chicken Tikka Masala entrees were delicious, with just the right amount of spice. The Mango Lassi was refreshing and just the way I like it. Portions were generous, very freshly prepared with fresh ingredients, and service was attentive and pleasant. The owner spoke with us at the end of the meal and is modestly(but justifiably) proud of the food’s quality. If in New Hope area again I’m sure we would eat there. After reading some other reviews I’ll be tempted to get the Korma or some of the other choices because they did such a good job with all that we had I’d like to experience some of the other dishes also.

Omg SO good! I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Biryani, and of course the naan. So delicious and all the meat is halal, owners are Muslim.

Dang this place was good! I can’t vouch for the authenticity, as I am very new to Indian cuisine, but it sure was amazing. Service was great and personal. I would go back any time. I especially love how they serve the food. Very good for sharing!

Most of the reviews I read referred to this as an Indian restaurant, but it is actually Bengali(chef and dishes from Bangladesh). While they are very similar, the seasoning is a little different and slightly more subtle… many of the dishes are less spicy yet more flavorful than their Indian counterparts. This place doesn’t look like much when you walk in, but they know how to cook, and everything is really fresh. The Korma was slightly nuttier than most Indian Korma, and the Tandoori is very flavorful. Enjoy!

I usually don’t write reviews but this had to be put down. It deserves ZERO stars. The worst Indian restaurant I have been to in my life. Being an Indian who has travelled and lived in the US for far too long now, I think I can say good from bad. I went there with my family, as we craved some good Indian food. But the moment we entered, we were greeted coldly. We were the ONLY customers and that itself made us think if we should go ahead or not. But we still did. The owner, Mr. Abu Tapader(of Bangladesh origin) gave us a very rude welcome. As he was taking our order, he kept making sarcastic comments. That was rude itself but what he did after made us leave the pathetic place. Since he was smiling sarcastically, my dad asked him what the problem was. He said nothing while his mouth reaked and stinked of tobbacco exposing his black teeth(god knows if the food they cook is in an equally unhygienic place as the table and the cutlery too were dirty). My dad then told him that if he had a problem with us, we would leave. He laughed and said«OK». Haha wow, we were shocked by such unprofessionalism of treating your customers. And while leaving, he stopped us and said, «are you Indian? We don’t let Indians in our restaurant». Are you kidding me? He uses India to market his work and treats them like this? It is unfortunate that his place still exists. If I could, I would boycott such people with so much arrogance. I will let people see and decide for themselves. But the experience I had at this place, will be one that I remember. Definitely not stepping in again. A horrible place with horrible service and response.

I don’t even know how to review this place because I don’t want to burst the bubble for a suburban area with few Indian food options. The person who owns this place was really nice and his immigrant story was inspiring. The food was kind of okay and not«authentic» in the way I’m used to it. Our rice seemed reheated one too many times but the naan was fresh. I’m sure the lunch buffets are a lot better but we happened to come by on a quieter night.

This Place is a FIND. Generally I steer clear of indian restaurants. But this time had some vegetarian friends with me so we went in and was I blown aways. Ok so I am an indian myself and I live in close vicinity to edison, nj so you know i know my desi food and I am telling, you need to go eat here. I had the chicken biryani which is actually a Lucknowi Pulao and its as authentic as it get the chicken saag perfect kebabs spot on roti and naans soft and fresh. Will definitely come to new hope for jaffron as against the bars and pubs.

We tried the lunch buffet today for the first time. The selection wasn’t huge(not sure if it changes week to week) but the food was really good. There was chicken and lamb dishes, as well as three vegetarian dishes, and of course basmati rice. The Kheer(rice pudding) was very good and included in the buffet. Everything I tried was cooked well and tasted great. I have no qualms about the food at Jaffron! The restaurant is very small, but they were as accommodating as possible to us and our baby(and stroller). The pitcher holding the tap water made the water taste pretty funky. The buffet doesn’t come with any condiments(extra charge for raita) but you do get some sauces with the papadum. The staff was very nice. The owner is especially nice. There was a discrepancy with a gift certificate(they don’t honor them because they said they never put their restaurant on the site) but as a kind gesture he still took some $ off the bill. That was a really nice thing to do and will not be forgotten. It will also keep me going back there to order from the regular menu, and recommending Jaffron to others. If I lived in New Hope I’d probably be getting delivery weekly. In closing: fairly priced, quality local Indian food. Good value for lunch buffet but limited selection. I highly recommend and will be back.

I also hate the break up the 4 – 5 star party but I just ordered take out from here tonight(the result of an incredible meal at Cross Culture 2 nights ago that I wanted to repeat and experience again). But Jaffron is no Cross Culture. The food was 3 stars at best. We ordered a wide array of dishes including lamb biryani, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, mango shrimp, naan, popodum and a couple veggie curries. My biryani tasted ok but unevenly spiced(which can make or break such a flavorful dish), the lamb was also dry and the biryani was unaccompanied by the usual yogurt sauce so the whole thing was — dry. Not inedible, but certainly not 5 star worthy. Mixed reviews also on the black bean/chick pea curry which went nearly untouched and the naan and popodum, the first of which was dry, the second(again), unevenly spiced. To be fair, the meal did get some major compliments from a few fellow diners. Reviews were mixed but I’ll be sticking to Cross Culture.
