I stayed here on June 26th. It was a rainy weekend, so not many people spend the night so it was quiet. I paid $ 162 for a Friday night. It comes with no breakfast. The WiFi sucked. Their router is in the main house, the signal could not reach my cabin. The room needs a complete overhaul. The carpeting a bunched up from years of dog peeing. The bathroom needs to be renovate. The heat smelled life burning hair. It took hours for the AC to work. They just completed a new roof, so there were nails on the ground. Not good for car tires. I understand the owners of the Raven have sold, they will be pumping that money into fixing up this place. It has tons of potential and some loving care.

I seriously have nothing but good things to say about this place. The price is right, the WiFi strong, the heater works. The location is good overall, and the whole place has a secluded feel as it’s set back off the main road in a little wooded area. NOTE: It is not a fancy resort(there is no bellhop, room service, alarm clocks). It is a basic room, with modern-rustic touches like hardwood floors and country quilts. Yes, you need to turn on the heat when you arrive, but that is part of the beauty of this place: there’s minimal staff here, and you have to check in and get your key at the Raven across the street – making NHL an even quieter, more laid-back place to hang your hat for a few days. T’would be nice if there was a coffeepot or electric kettle to make hot water for coffee in the morning, but the Wawa is near and there’s good coffee in town. The fridge is a nice touch so you can keep drinks and snacks in the room. Parking is right next to each 3-block unit so trips back and forth to the car are hassle-free. All was super clean too, except the bathrooms were a bit older and worn. They were as clean as they could be for the most part, but a little reno in there would be nice. They’re perfectly adequate, but not what you would call inviting per se. Very gay friendly, too, so haters keep out!

Thank you Othelia for giving this place 1 star. I seriously had the lowest expectations of this place. So I get there and there is a little sign that you have to check in at the Raven across the street. I think they should make there sign a little bigger if they are going to do that. So I went across & the Host for their restaurant handed me the keys. He didn’t check id or credit card or anything. That was kind of nice & bizarre. We get to our room, and after jiggling the key around 4 times, we finally got in. The room was very large! It was an old lodge that they spruced up a little bit. I thought it had fantastic charm :) We even had a nice balcony looking over 202. No one bothered us and you couldn’t hear any noise from the bar. When we checked out, I all ready knew the deal, so I went to the Raven & gave the keys to the bartender.

Motel was purchased last year by the Raven owners. They have updated most of the rooms. I stayed a few times last summer, and I thought they had done a nice job. We stayed again from July 28 – 29. The room(9) needed more work. My friends rooms(23&27) were similar. The furniture is outdated, and they had tube TVs(really?!). The a/c unit in our room was quite noisy when the compressor was on. For the price($ 140/night), we expect better. The owners could put a little more money in the place to make it a great country getaway. On a positive note, we had dinner at the Raven, which was delicious! I recommend the salmon and chicken cordon bleu :-)

The accommodations are OK, somewhat simple but OK if they would just keep the price as promised, but that is where the big problem is with this motel. If you look at the inside of the room door(we were in room 39) it clearly is written that one night stay for a max of 4 people will cost you $ 149.00 not incl. taxes. It says nothing about special or higher prices on holidays or any other times. We called ahead of time on the Memorial day weekend and told we only needed a room for one night, if they had anything vacant??? We were told they did and that we had to pay $ 179.00 + taxes. Being the Long weekend and all, we thought that was OK toooo. But, now comes the big, chocking surprise… are you ready for this??? When the bill came it was $ 209.00 plus taxes for one nights stay??? wow… would you think it would have been OK to have let us know when we called, that it was $ 209.00 plus taxes for one night on the Memorial day Weekend? BUT no… we were told $ 179.00 by a very, very nice young man when we call. The same very, very nice young man who greeted us upon arrival. Yours Sincerely Othelia Jackson
