Been here several times and am really happy they’re doing a good business! Owners Rob and Mike are very nice, always present which is key. The few food items: soup of the day, chili, buffalo chicken burger and pear salad were all fantastic. Pretty decent beer selection on tap and they’ve gotten a few better bartenders than when they opened(I was concerned!). Got to have great bartenders to make it around here, esp. during the off season. Other help seems to wander around a little bit either looking for things to do or generally creep out patrons. Wish they’d be just a little more professional with the overall image of the staff.

Basically mothers with a few Guinness signs BUT the food is actually good — I am a vegetarian and had the Sheppards pie with root vegetables and it was excellent and I have heard the Guinness wings are great Also every time we have gone(about three times now) the people have been wonderful! Super friendly– a little warm near the fireplace and some décor would be nice — bathrooms are ok-but definitely will go back

Just ate at The Dubliner in New Hope. Rather than barhopping, we were restaurant hopping. I had an IPA with the taste of the bitterness of grapefruit. Very tasty. Hubby opted for the all day Irish Breakfast. I settled on the Shepherd’s Pie. Food came out hot and hubby enjoyed his. I tasted some food from his plate and found the sausage nice and tasty. My Shepherd Pie could have used more seasonings, like garlic, salt, and pepper, but overall not bad. I noticed they actually put wine in your glass rather than the new save a buck trend of a fourth of a glass for $ 10. We had already eaten at a couple of places over in New Hope so just went for a beer and main course. We sat at the bar and the female bartender was quite pleasant. They opened in September 2015 and when you get to the back it is quite big. Up front it is a cozy bar.

To make a long story short, we had an unpleasant experience: 1/Perhaps not the best burger I’ve had. How can anyone screw up a burger?! 2/Hospitality was not the greatest, either. 3/Want an extra chips for your dip, throw down an extra buck. 4/Empty water glass? Expect an aggressive refill. I will not be returning. Two and half Unilocal

Definite letdown here. With a cute name and a 4-star average, my friend and I made our way over yesterday afternoon. We were both starving and ready to take advantage of what looked like a great Irish comfort food menu. We walked in and were seated in the dark back room(away from open seats in the front with plenty of natural light). Our server even noticed that the light above our table was out while introducing herself. She seemed nice at first, but was later über-annoyed when we requested water refills and a few extra chips for our dip. We started by splitting the spinach dip. It was supposed to be extra cheesy, from the menu description, but there definitely wasn’t enough mixed in. Also, it had a really odd after-taste. As I said, it came with limited chips — *and* the food runner dropped one on his way over. As such, I didn’t think it was an issue asking for a few more chips so we could properly finish the portion of dip left. Food runner came over with a huge helping of chips(aka: what they should have provided in the first place) and I asked if there was going to be an up-charge. He said he didn’t know. Next thing I know, as we’re about to grab a chip, the server comes over, looks at me and says: «Did you ask him something?» Really? Am I not supposed to ask a member of the restaurant staff a simple question if they’re not our designated server? Nicer phrasing: «I heard you had a question. Can I help you with anything?» Server then told me there was a $ 1 charge for the chips — making it a $ 10 app. I then rebutted that we literally needed two chips and the food runner had dropped one earlier, so I wasn’t okay with that. She started rambling something in response(to which I blankly looked at her.) and she stopped herself mid-sentence to say she’d take it off. The whole exchange felt so unnecessary. They should really say«extra chips: $ 1» on their menu so people can know it’s necessary to scoop up as much dip as humanely possible on each precious chip. PS: I don’t think I’ve ever written so damn much about a chip before in any of my reviews. WHEW. Let’s move on. At another point, I was out of water so I asked for a refill. She took our glasses away at the same time and then had to clearly think about where to place them on the way back. A little disconcerting. This is where a refill pitcher would come in handy. Later, we were out of water again(small glasses!) but fortunately I had a water bottle in my purse. As for our main meal(because, yes, it took me this long to get to that point.), we both ordered the D.O.D. burgers cooked medium with cheddar cheese. As I bit into my burger that was cooked well, I turned to my friend and showed her the burger to confirm that it wasn’t medium. She agreed and said hers was the same way. I’m not going to send a burger back unless there’s something severely wrong with it, but this was a seriously bland, dry, disappointing burger. I ate just about half of it before requesting the check. One more note: Being an Irish pub, I really expected a better draft and bottle list. This was also lacking. Sure, they had a River Horse, but it was unfortunate to mostly just see the domestic waters ruling the scene. Hence, water. Maybe this place was having an off-day, but I definitely won’t be going back. Especially because shortly after eating, I felt ill… and that lasted through to the nighttime. I wanted to give three stars, but I honestly can’t think of anything that even made it an average experience. Didn’t feel welcome, didn’t enjoy the oddly-dark atmosphere, didn’t like the subpar grub. Bummer!

I’m only posting this review about the bar and drinks, didn’t try the food yet. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the food so I’ve been hesitant to try it, but an Irish pub for drinks is needed in New Hope(besides the little tiny basement one on Bridge street), so I hope it makes it! The décor is a little stark, but the whiskey selection is vast, the drink menu is filled with whiskey drinks and the bartenders were nice. It’s a good spot on the quiet end of Main Street to come and grab a drink.

Just had lunch here with my wife. She had the Shepard’s Pie. It was excellent. I had a Half Reuben and cup of soup. Both were very good. I also had some kind of draft beer that was from Ireland that was recommended by my waitress. It was excellent as well. Staff was very attentive. A very attractive waitress named Amanda served us. I highly recommend this place.

Great staff, Guinness, and I could easily see myself living off their bangers and mash the rest of my life. Well done!

I’m a local and this place is quickly becoming a favorite. The food is excellent, the waitstaff are friendly and awesome. I don’t even care much for Guinness but I always drink it here. I recommend the All Day Irish breakfast… so good.

Been to Ireland many times, and the Dubliner on the Delaware is as close to the the real deal as it gets without the flight. Fantastic atmosphere, good eats and great service. 2 thumbs-up

The Dubliner is a little away from some of the other bustling restaurants and other places in downtown newhope. We came from an early dinner around 6:30 on a Saturday. The food, when we finally got it was actually very good! The have a limited menu, which is good because they are focusing on only a few things. We both had the fish and chips which was excellent. It was not greasy and had a good crust and the came apart neatly and nicely. The pricing $ 13.00 for each person seemed very fair and good. However, service was pretty bad. We were seated for about 15 minutes before anyone noticed us, and we were sat in between a bunch of other people when there were more tables of the same size available that would not cram people on top of each other. Service was very slow and we waited a very long time to have our order taken, to have our drinks delivered, and to have our food delivered. Luckily, the food was not served cold. We didn’t order soda, but a lot of other people next to us complained about flat soft drinks. It seem even though they knew it was a problem, they kept serving people who sent it back — either some miscommunication between servers or they were hoping people would not complain. The other people near us also complained about really slow service. When we were ready to pay we had our credit card out and made sure the server didn’t drop the bill and run. The people next to us tried to order cocktails, and the server didn’t really seem to know that much about the drinks, etc — but they eventually sent over a bar tender to talk to that couple which was a smart move! Considering there are so many other options in New Hope, I would not likely go back. However, if you are nearby this part of the main drag and it doesn’t look busy, then you will get some good food. Perhaps if they hire more staff they can eliminate the service issues.

Great casual Irish bar and restaurant. It’s new and the staff is friendly, excited and from Ireland. My wife and I both liked this place, and have been there twice. We sat at the bar and everyone was friendly, as you would hope an Irish pub to be. Good selection of Irish whiskey, really good wings. We came back for dinner and sat in the bar room. The All Day Irish Breakfast was really good and seemed more authentic for the few times I’ve had it at other Irish restaurants, though you have to like this kind of thing. My wife liked her fish and chips. Food prices are good, kind of inexpensive for New Hope. If you like Irish pub’s, you won’t be disappointed here.

Good craic and savory Irish fare. The closest thing to the emerald isle you can get without actually being there.

Mothers is no more. But rising from the ashes is an exciting new Irish bar that promises good pub grub, real trad music and a decent pint of Guinness. I was there last night and while it was slow that service was good. I just had the Jamison wings, and sweet and spicy wing sauce served on some juicy chicken pieces. Tap list is small, having Harp, Guinness, Smithwycks, Harpoon, Sam Adams, and some macro lagers. But the menu is promising. They serve a full Irish with real Irish rashers, sausage, grilled tomato, and both black and white pudding. They also have bangers and mash, and fish and chips. Menu is supposed to expand. Right now they are only open 4 – 12, but expect that to change. The other exciting thing is while the owners are from Dublin, they also have a bartender who is on local radio and they are fully intending to make this a live music venue. It will be interesting to see if there is an Irish session started,(there is already one across the river at Mitchell’s.) But all in all very happy for this new part of the neighborhood.

Absolutely my favorite Irish pub. The food, beer, music, staff and atmosphere made for such a great night! Already looking forward to my next visit. Also, BEST wings I have ever had in my life.

Everything you’d want in an Irish pub — good beer, great burgers, friendly staff, live Irish music on the weekends and owners with Irish brogues! While I’ve only eaten there once so far, I’d definitely recommend the Jameson Sticky Wings.

We stumbled on this place on our trip to New Hope. The food was excellent, not greasy or heavy like you usually find in Irish pubs. The management and the wait staff were friendly and made our experience great. We came in with a toddler and a stroller and they had the high seat before we knew we needed it. I’m Vegan and they were more than happy to accommodate my order.

Ok so, I haven’t posted a review in a while so I’m going to try to be thorough with this one. I came here with my wife and daughter for a late lunch, this place used to be a wine bar called moms that was just Ok so we were excited to try them after the change. Now, after I wrote this review I looked back and it looked like a lot of complaints but, let me be clear. I like this place, a lot. I’m being critical because I think this place can go from really great to awesome so understand, I’m definitely coming back. The atmosphere was nice, friendly and inviting. The bar was exactly what you would expect from an old world Irish pub and the staff greeted and sat us right away. I thought there would be a few more beers on tap but I can’t complain abut the few choices they had. We stared with the spin dip, witch was delicious. It came with Irish soda bread, which was also really great but, does a sweet soda bread go with spin dip, no matter how good it is? After that we got the Jamison wings, fish and chips and the hanger steak. The wings tasted great but a little on the sweet side. Fish and chips, The fish was perfect from the batter and seasoning to the tartar sauce but, I understand that fries and chips are about the same thing right? But if the menu is going to say chips, I want giant chips and not the same kind of fries I can get anywhere else. The coleslaw that came with it was also delicious but came in a ramekin that was the same size as the ramekin my ketchup came in. Is it a side or a condiment? I mean, Its coleslaw, of all the things to get cheap on, don’t skimp me on something like the coleslaw, I want more than just one bite. The hanger steak was cooked the way I ordered it and seasoned nicely. It came with«chips» and zucchini, which, to me didn’t really work on the plate. If it were my place, I would leave the zucchini off, take a dollar off the price, and figure people would order one of my seven dollar salads with their steak. Sell more, make more, and lower my inventory, but that’s just me. Alright so, after many criticisms that weren’t really a big deal I do have one solid complaint. We sat upstairs, just us and one other table, and the owners came out and had a conversation with the other family in the upstairs dinning area. They weren’t rude, they weren’t anything. they walked right by one of two tables and didn’t say hello or ask how we were, or how the food was and you know what, you have only been open for nine days, and there were only two tables in the joint, are you really too busy to say hello? We’ve been coming to New Hope for a long time and good food doesn’t always mean your going to stick around, you should stop and see what people think. Why? Because its New Hope and we have like, a hundred other places to go. I like this place and I’d like to see them stick around, but they’re not five stars, so don’t lower your standards just because their new.

Absolutely lovely little place, compact and cozy on Main Street in New Hope. Irish cuisine has it’s limitations but the staples are done just right. I had a shepherds pie that was hand made and fresh. And they have Powers Irish Whiskey right next to the Jameson. I do not hear well and the woody construction soaks up ambient noise and allows me to participate in conversation. I will return
