This review is only for the pharmacy at the New Hudson store. We have used the pharmacy at other Walmart stores and been very happy with the service. We recently moved to the area and have come to this pharmacy about five times. This pharmacy is very inefficient. If your doctor calls in a prescription, I recommend calling ahead to the pharmacy to make sure that they have filled it, because chances are, they have not. When you arrive, you can often see a few of the clerks congregated in plain view, sort of «hanging out» while you wait to get their attention at the counter. Also, the personal appearance of the employees is a cross between biker babe/people of Walmart. I would think that in this department especially, the staff should appear clean and competent and perhaps have good dental hygiene. We are definitely moving our prescription business to another store.

By far my favorite Walmart in the area– although with that said, it is still a Walmart. This location has more inventory than the other, smaller locations around us. I also enjoy the fact that they keep the you scan aisles open all day, helps when I’m just running a quick errand. I also get my oil changed here when necessary, I’d recommend getting there first thing in the morning.(Or call ahead to see the length of wait time)

They refuse to exchange a defective shelf we got as a house warming gift. We had the receipt. They tried to tell me you cant exchange things unless you have the credit card it was purchased on. The Walmart website says otherwise. I made it clear that I didnt want money I just wanted the shelf that was not all broken. The people who bought us the shelf do not live anywhere near us. So now we have a box of trash that cannot be exchanged. I think I will go to another Walmart where they said they can exchange it, like their policy says. This Walmart has the worst workers of any Walmart I have ever been to. The cashiers are weirdos and the customer service people are super rude. Just go the Walmart in Novi if you want to go. Or there is a Meijer down Grand River.

Okay, now I’m hopping on the hatewagon, but only for this particular location. The past five times I’ve come here, they haven’t had anything I came for. And I’m not looking for anything off the wall. Some 0W-20 motor oil, a vacuum that said was in stock at this store… Empty shelves are far too common at this store, while the Novi, Hartland, and Commerce locations are always well-stocked. And anymore, Meijer’s prices are pretty similar… The only reason I didn’t drop down to one star, is the guy in the deli area is really nice, and remembers my kid when he sees her.

I normally avoid Wallymart if I can. I usually don’t like the ambiance of their regular stores. This location in New Hudson is a 24hr SuperCenter. that does not make it any better though… this store is like 1.5x to 2x larger than the store in Commerce Twp, MI. When I have to goto Wallymart its usually only because its the closest place wherever I am at at the time. My wife needed a few things and I was on my way home from various errands in this neck of the woods anyway. I would goto a Meijer if I could but frankly don’t know where one is in this area. As I said this Wallymart is huge. And for a store that is so dog gone huge you would think there would be more than 1 or 2 people who work here who have some inkling what good customer service was about. I am not gonna knock anyone for trying to Work. and in this economy Any Job is better than No job. But if you are going to work in Retail then you have to at least pretend you are happy and are willing to be helpful. Walking in with my foot in a cast from a recent injury I was looking around for at least an electric cart or regular cart to lean on. Walking in any store that is this flipping huge is a pain when you have a busted foot. After looking around at 4 different electric gokarts — all of em were either not working or low charge. Finally just leaned on a regular cart and pushed the sucker around trying to find the few items my wife wanted me to get. A couple of produce items, some cleaning supplies and some carpet cleaner was all i intended to get. I guess I went in the wrong door just my luck the grocery/produce is wayyyy over to one side. I swear it takes 15mins to get to the other side of the store. Theres at least 20 Wallymart employees staring either at their cell phones or the ceiling and not one seems interested in being there. One guy I swear as I walk by is sitting at a register picking his nose. Uuugh thats lovely. The produce area is a mish mash at best. Some wallymart dude was trying to stock lettuce and everytime I grabbed a head of lettuce the guy looked at me funky. Finally I just stood there and waited till he was done. When he walked away I shuffled through and found one that looked passable. It was only 99cents which is a decent price for iceberg lettuce. Tomatoes are still way overpriced so I will get them somewhere else. Over to the Deli to attempt to get cheese. There is like 4 employees behind the counter and none come to the counter to ask me if I need help. I stand there wondering if I need to pull a ticket but theres nothing there to denote. Finally I ask a gal walking buy in a hairnet and wallymart shirt/apron, excuse me I would like a ½ pound of provolone. she stares at me and says sorry I don’t work in the deli. I’m like uh ok… can you find someone who does? the lady looks over at the 4 other people who are busy avoiding me and the then the lady walks off into some double doors and disappears. Finally after 5mins I give up and walk away. This is a crappy day for customer service. I had only intended to be there at wallymart for 15 mins. but already the adventure was over 45mins trying to get a few measly things. I eventually dumped all my stuff from my cart on an empty shelf at the front and limped out. I know its cheaper elsewhere and I know when I eventually get closer to my next of the woods I can always get to a Meijer

I have been to a few Walmarts aside from this one. It’s definitely not a place that I seek out, I just go here if it is convenient. I live right around the corner so sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to drive a ways to get what I need. This particular one isn’t any worse than your typical Walmart. I find it to be a little nicer than the Howell location. Like most Walmarts though, the produce and meat is not good. They pump their meat full of water. I know this for a fact because of a certain dish that I made that turned into soup when I used Walmart beef, never again! I don’t appreciate paying per pound for extra liquid! Good luck finding anyone to help you in any of the departments too. I find you have to walk half the store to find someone who works here. My husband and I made a New Year’s Resolution pact to not grocery shop here. It has been pretty easy, trust me!

I don’t know what it is about this Walmart, but both times I’ve been here it’s been terrible. The last time(and believe me it will be the last) the checkout lady started screaming at us. I was buying our groceries, and a bottle of cooking wine. When she checked my ID, she asked for my wife’s, too. My wife left her purse in the car, instead of carrying it around the store. Well apparently the checkout lady thought I was trying to get my wife drunk. She wasn’t going to let us buy it b/c BOTH of us didn’t have our ID’s. She carried on and on and actually got in my wife’s face about it. Unreal. Now wait a minute, I’m of age, I’m buying like 2 weeks worth of groceries, and what is it to her if there are other people with me? I mean, what’s she going to do, card parents and their kids? I asked for a manager, well… guess what? She was the manager! I ended up filing a complaint with Walmart, but no one ever responded. Other than that, yeah it is your typical Walmart which for some reason means a lot of people(not everyone) forget common courtesy.

Holy economy of scale Batman! Today was my absolute first experience at WalMart. It was close to Kensington Park and I needed a few things. I’d always thought«OK similar to Meijer or maybe Target»…Drum Roll Please! I sort of get the whole cult thing about WalMart now. I managed to escape just before I shaved my head and got my robe. Joking aside, it seemed like a city with everything you’d ever need but nothing you’d actually want. It lacked character and was just a horribly boring place with not so great produce or meat areas. I just didn’t like it. It was over crowded, people were always fighting for position with their cart, and at it was just too big! I put all three items back and left. As I started my car I realized that sometimes paying an extra dollar for something it just the right thing for sanity’s sake.
