The food really is delicious here. Everything from the pizza to sandwiches to garlic knots to personal pizza — all is excellent. The service has definitely gotten a lot quicker and their prices are awesome in comparison to neighboring pizza places. It’s a favorite for sure!

So I really hate to do this because I absolutely love Gino’s pizza but the last two times in our experience was ruined. 2nd to last visit: Walk in and see two older slices of regular. I ask when a fresh pie is coming out and they say a few minutes so I say great I’ll have one of those. 30 seconds later the counter girl says my slice is ready. I get up to grab it and it is CLEARLY not a slice from a fresh pie. The cheese is well done(from being reheated) the edges of the slice are curled up and and it’s very clear to me this slice is a reheat job instead of the fresh slice I requested. I tell the girl very politely that this couldn’t be my slice cause I ordered a fresh one, the guy who took my order comes over and begins to insist that this is indeed a fresh slice. When I ask where the other 7 matching slices are from the same fresh pie he begins to grin and smirk and continues to argue with me even though he can’t produce the«freshly» made pie from which this slice came. I informed him that I worked most of life in pizzerias and that I can tell the difference between a fresh out the oven slice, a slice that was made 30 mins ago, and hour and so on. He refuses to admit what he did all the while smirking. Last visit: I go in with my dad who has been a vegetarian since 1989. The man has not eaten meat, ordered meat or thought of eating meat in 30 years. When the eggplant parm he ordered shows up it’s CHICKENPARM. Now when my dad politely let’s them know that he didn’t order chicken the same guy from the above experience begins to argue with my dad and tell him that he ordered chicken. The dude behind the counter gets very smug, very arrogant and refuses to admit he messed up. Now I can say as someone who eats everything I have ordered the wrong hero before. I have ordered veal when I wanted chicken by mistake because all of the options are always dancing around in my head when thinking of what to order. My dad on the other hand only thinks of vegetables and fish, that’s it. He would never order meat. Been out to eat with him a million times and he’s the type who asks if the soups are made with chicken stock, if they are he won’t order them. This guy behind the counter has tan skin, dark greasy hair and has a slightly chubby face. It wasn’t a deal breaker that he tried to pass off a warmed up slice off as a freshly cooked slice to me. I didn’t go back for a few weeks because of it but it wasn’t a deal breaker to me. After what he pulled on my dad last night I may never go back to this pizzeria. And it’s a shame because they make one of my favorite slices of regular on Long Island. A pizzeria should NEVER be losing customers because of a rude, arrogant counter guy. His behavior was totally unprofessional on more than one occasion. Telling his boss«this guys is trying to say he ordered eggplant». Like messing up a hero order is not the end of the word dude, you can admit it, move and and no harm done, you aren’t going to be fired over a small mistake like that. I should also mention that the same arrogant counter guy, waited in the back for the eggplant to be made in the back and walked it back to the table instead of the regular food runner. I don’t know that he messed with the order but I can say for sure that it’s a bad optic. Been going to Gino’s the last few years at least once a week to dine in and at least once every 2 weeks I order food. Losing my business may not hurt this place financially but I hope that management eventually sees that this knucklehead is driving customers away with his atrocious customer service. Shame on you greasy Gino’s Counter guy. Shame on you.

I was hoping I could give Gino’s a higher rating, really hoping, but one of my biggest tests for a pizza place is the buffalo chicken slice. I know. But for me it could be a make it or break it situation. I came in here during the New Hyde Park Street Fair. The place with abuzz with action and it was nice to see this restaurant get some attention that its competitor down the street is known for. It was hot, and all I wanted was a buffalo chicken and a water and to sit somewhere for a few minutes with my mom. She ordered a slice of regular and I ordered a buffalo chicken. The regular didn’t need to be put in the oven because it was piping hot, but my buffalo chicken did. Not a problem. After a few minutes, I rejoined my mom at a table with my slice. When I went to go pick it up, it was very hot, so I have it a minute to cool down. I was wrong in it actually being hot, because it wasn’t. I don’t know if this is normal for them, or if they cook their crust to this standard, but it was rather doughy. With such a heavy pizza I would expect there to be a little crisp on the crust to help structure the slice. But alas, doughy, and if I do return to Gino’s I’ll make sure to request a well-done slice and see if it comes out the way I prefer pizza. As for the buffalo chicken… I was so… so… disappointed? Sad, more like it. There was no heat. No pinch of heavenly hot sauce fire. Just mediocre sauce on lukewarm chicken pieces. I ate it despite it lacking the oomph a buffalo slice deserves to have. I was hungry and left a bit sad I didn’t get that hot sauce fixing I was craving. I believe Gino’s can do so much better then what I had, and will make it a point to return when they are less busy.

I have never been a fan of any Gino’s pizzeria(I know some are owned by the same people, and others owned by others). This pizzeria is fine for what it is… overpriced pizza. The selection is lacking, often the pizza has been sitting there for a while. I have yet to get a fresh piece unless I order an entire pie. The staff lacks most common sense and intelligence and quite frankly are not particularly friendly. I go there only if I am in desperation and a rush.

I ordered from this place last night and they never arrived. when I called I was told that the place was closed and I could come pick up my order. I was unhappy with that. they basically told me screw you. suffice it to say I won’t be going back and I suggest you avoid them at all costs

The pizza tastes good but… the presentation left much to be desired. Please ask drivers to keep pizzas flat while delivering. Several slices had no toppings

Best pizza in New Hyde Park! I’m a pizza lover who has been coming here since they opened back in 2006. It’s always fun to see and taste Joe’s and Paul’s specialities.

The food and service has definitely improved and its only right that i improve my update. The pizza contanida was really awesome, not what i expected and really love the tortellini soup with the sweet pea. I still think there a bit pricey but nevertheless the food is definitely much better

Finalmente, a good tasting pie in New Hyde Park. The lady I spoke to was very pleasant. The pie arrived within 30 minutes and was hot. The dough was cooked to perfection. I ordered from umbertos for years until they started to burn the pie, and when i asked the ynot burn it, it was undercooked. HOPETHISPLACEDOESNOTCHANGE

Been going to ginos since i moved to the area about 6 years ago. Food is pretty good but customer service is much to be desired. Very slow and seem to screw up a pretty straight forward order. They never apologize for messing up either. Been going back and forth to ginos and umbertos. My latest experience has me sticking to umbertos. They at least will give you an extra slice if its late and about to close or if they do mess up throw in some free garlic knots. That IS good customer service

My place to eat Italian food in NHP. Many good dishes to pick from with specials to change things up for regulars. Have enjoyed everything I have ever ordered here. Pizza doesn’t blow me away, its strength is in their pasta and other dishes. Tried Gino’s and Umberto’s of NHP when I moved into neighborhood and Gino’s proved to better.

Thier pasta and their pizza are awesome. There are enough workers and wait staff who will able to assist you with any questions. Pizza is always cooked in the perfect temperature. It is a bit expensive but it is worth the money.

Their customer service sucks… Spoke to two people, a much older man and a younger woman both with nasty attitudes. They hung up the phone before I can even give them my credit card info. Not to mention my food got there at like an hour and 30 minutes later. Their food is just not worth the money. My brother inlaw had a meat ball sub on garlic bread it was more garlic than anything else. I had the lasagna and well not to toot my own horn but id rather eat my own. «Meat lasagna» more tomato sauce than there was pasta and cheese

This is the second time in ordered Pizza and asked for garlic on it and instead of garlic powder as normal people do they put garlic oik. More oil on an already oily pizza. Who does that???

Their pizza is very good, however, they would constantly forget items in a delivery order and take over 30 mins to bring the correct item. If this happened once, I would have no problem… but over 3 times is ridiculous. And having the owner basically tell you he doesn’t care doesn’t help. I suggest Angoletto’s. Never any delivery issues

The food here is only good, not great. I ordered the fiorentina pizza which was extremely big, probably about two feet wide in diameter. The one negative thing about the pizza was the extremely dry chicken on it. My family also ordered the Gino’s 100% beef burger with fries; the burger was dry as well and the fries were stale. The online ordering option was extremely easy and convenient though and when I arrived to pick up the food, it was ready to go. The attentive cashier immediately took care of my order when I walked in.

I consider my self a pizza snob. I am extremely picky about every aspect of the pizza I am eating. I have to say Gino’s blew me away in a way I would not have expected. I decided to order the Dieters Delight Pizza, which only comes as a personal pan pizza. This pizza is made on a whole wheat crust with fat free cheese. I was not expecting much at all being that I knew what I was getting into, especially with my choice of cheese. This pizza came out amazing, the sauce was well balanced, crust was crispy enough, and I could not even tell the cheese was diet. I ate the whole personal pizza, which by the way could of served two people. I did cheat somewhat and go with the sliced(not crumbled) sausage on top. I could not have been happier walking out of Gino’s. Oh and btw they have a pizza with a garlic know crust on it, you gotta see this. I am trying next time I go to Gino’s

My mother had my stepdads 40th birthday party here and the catering room was very small. It was nice but way too small. Also the pizza is decent. Umbertos is better. I also wanted to get a job here and they said they werent hiring but hired another girl quickly after. So im not too happy with this place

cheap ingredients… cheese made me so thirsty. Selection is okay, they have cesar, bacon ranch, buffalo chicken, and grandma slices. Kinda of small, but the have booths off to the side. okay for a quick bite!
