This is our go to family spot for birthdays, anniversaries etc. The food here is consistent and always tasty. The service is wonderful on the weekdays only. On the weekends service is pretty bad and the waiters seemed overwhelmed jumping from table to table. I don’t think they assign tables to waiters and just expect them to help any customer asking for something. Sometimes the waiter that originally takes our order doesn’t come back for a very long time that we end up telling another waiter what we need.

Nanking always been my favorite place for dinner. Tonight celebrating my brother’s bday there was a delicious experience. My family luvd every meal as alway. We enjoyed fresh lime soda, hot & sour soup, lamp chops, Chili chicken, chicken or shrimp hot garlic, chili fish, Hakka noodles… In desert kulfi and pan ice cream was just fabulous!!! Great hospitality by Mr. Waqas. Looking forward to our next visit :))

Like other reviewers, I agree that the staff is very disorganized, which is unacceptable for such a pricey place. Quality is a hit or miss each time I go. Expect to wait at least 45 minutes for your pick-up order on the weekends(while being told it will ‘only take 20 minutes’ on the phone). «Santoor» in Glen Oaks and«New Chilli & Curry» in Hicksville are always great quality, much more affordable, and have better service.

I’ve been here many times and it’s always with my family. I don’t know we go here sooo many times. I never feel impressed and my experience here is always inconsistent. The thing with nyc/long island is that its sometimes hard to find decent indo-chinese restaurants. Sometimes good or bad. Overall, I feel the system here is disorganized. Sometimes the wait is kind of long for the food. For how pricy this restaurant is, I did expect much better service. The ambience is kinda of nice and if you want to attempt to make your night out«special», the dim lit interior, the nice seating and décor does the job I guess. But at the same time, I’m never that impressed because there is also something tacky about the ambience which I can’t pinpoint. The menu is overwhelmingly large. I really think they could do themselves a favor and just for on the indo-chinese dishes which is what I recommend here. For the price, the portions are very small. There were times when the dishes were subpar. Just to be fair, there were a few times I did enjoy my dishes. I really don’t see any reason to overspend on dinner here unless if you really are attracted by its ambience. The one plus is that there is parking! A good plus.

Honestly I’ve been here a couple times, was always happy with the outcome. Today I was completely disgusted with the place. My cup was dirty. The bathroom area had an atrocious smell to eat. The food wasn’t as good as usual. Very disappointed.

I know that I kind of bashed this place in my last review, but after about a year and a half my family chose to go here again last night and it was much better! So in true Unilocal fairness, I must update the review. I would have given it four stars if I hadn’t been so disappointed with the drink selection(not so good) and if I hadn’t been given a dirty menu(someone else’s leftover sauce all over my hand, eek!) But again, how much did I expect to get out of a place that had I had reviewed so badly? So why another star — well, the food was pretty amazing(manchurian vegetable, chili fish and singapore noodles = best meal ever, here). I would give the food 4.5 stars. I also loved our busboy/waiter, Rizwan — such a pleasant hard worker — the waitress, not so much… but she seemed a bit snooty for her position so maybe she’s party owner? very impatient. Either way, the bathroom is still terrible, the water service still stinks but the décor has changed a bit and is better and the food is REALLY, REALLY good. If you just want to go for a great food experience, this this is your place… but if you like the perks of a nice restaurant then you might be disappointed. Will try again as I see improvements :) (PS — not at popular as it used to be — don’t really need reservations anymore and it’s empty at 6PM on a sunday evening… not sure if that’s at good thing). Kind of recommended.

After a hard days work I decided to stop by this location for some takeout. Big mistake! The place was a mess(the bathroom was disgusting) and I had a 25 min wait for my order. I decided to wait at the bar. second mistake two beers cost me $ 18 bucks and the were lukewarm.(no fridge, beers sitting in a bucket on ice). When I did get my food my soup was wrong. Also the waitress had a big attitude problem. The vibe was pathetic.

I make it a point to visit this restaurant whenever I come to NYC. The ambience compliments the quality of Indo-chinese food. Chicken Chilly + Hakka Noodles + Fried rice + hot sour soup = Happy Meal! Recently I tried their traditional Indian dishes from the tandoor and was surprised by the good quality and awesome flavor.

There was a need to use one of my vouchers and this place is in website participating list. I am not a fan of any spicy dishes but my family is so I said why not to try what they offer for dinner. The voucher is good only for take out. I Called in to place my order 20 minutes before my expected arrival and the guy I spoke with was friendly. He Assured me that it will be ready by the time I come. He did not give me hard time about using my voucher. The dining place is impressive. Dark, red themed, business casual ambiance, with cathedral chandeliers and authentic decors that complimented the place. It looks like a good place for party or big company. Lots of Zagat and New York Times reviews in plaques are hanging by the waiting room. Can’t see the details though as it is dark. I may try to come back with family or friends for dine in experience. They served Asian fusion dishes — Indian, Thai, Chinese. I placed an order to sample one kind from each. We had Thai’s fried gingered sauced Red snapper, India’s Nan fried rice and bread and the Singapore curried noodles. My family loved it all. Oh my, oh my, it’s spices still gives a kick for me although I already ask for mild servings. Probably next time, I ll have my portion free of spices. :) The spices and the flavor had been missed by the hubby as it has been a while the last time he had Asian fusion food. My daughter finds the fish very oily, or was it because it was wrapped in a foil and it didn’t get good oil absorption. My mistake was that I kept it sealed until time to eat it, thinking to keep it warmI should have transferred it to a plate instead. The curried noodles has eggs on it or it maybe the chicken but whatever it was, it added some flavor to it. Just the snappers ginger sauce alone tasted well when blended with the complimentary plain rice. For me, my most favorite is their grilled Nan bread(as it has no spices on it lol!) but honestly, the best Nan bread I have tasted. Overall, food was delicious, pricey for take out meal though but glad I had voucher to cover for it. It made me focused my review on the food’s quality instead of complaining about the prices for its serving portion. Recommended if you are into these kind of dishes, if not(like me), go for a regular Chinese take out.

Very dark in this restaurant. I wouldn’t say it is a dressy type of environment but the place is really nice. I got tikka masala which is my favorite and it was delicious. The samosas were delicious as well. If you don’t like your food extremely spicy, tell them to make it mild. Mine was mild and it still had a good kick to it.

First time eating here since its in our neighborhood Service is slow at lunch, with only 3 tables. We ordered the Pad Thai & fried rice. After 50% of meal was done, we FOUND a DEADFLY in the Pad Thai. Disgusting…

The food is delicious. The service was slow. We were ignored for the most part and sat next to the bussing section, so for the entire meal dishes were clanking next to us. We were a party of two, and the remaining plates never removed. They were only noticed after i pushed them out of the way. Our server, Johny, seemed irritated every time we called for assistance. Idk he was a having a bad day, which I doubt because he was quite amicable with everyone else, but he was awful. Ask for anyone else. Will never return. When I made efforts to inform the manager, the phone rang, he answered it, and raised his hand to hush me as he spoke. Shameful! Samosa and fried shrimp are delicious!

After a long and bad day the husband and I came here after work and we were not disappointed! We had the steamed vegetable dumplings and chicken spring rolls for appetizer and they were so delicious! For a cocktail I had the Hillside Cosmopolitan and it was great and super strong just what I needed! For entrees we had the Chicken Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice which I highly recommend! Great ambiance and the music was cool! We will be coming here again!

Well, I’m a frequent customer and when I got greeted by the host, she was very rude and disrespectful towards a joke that I made. I wanted to walk out due to her rude remark but since my beautiful girlfriend wanted to stay, I had no other choice. Oh and they just broke a large amount of glassware.

There are a few dishes that are absolutely delicious. We did a tasting to compare which ones we would cater. One of the manager’s Haresh suggested and we decided on 10 uniquely prepared dishes. This restaurant’s staff strives to give you the best experience from the moment you walk in. We catered and they did a beautiful job displaying the food, drinks and dessert and were serving with a pleasant attitude and making sure that we were attended to. After tasting these dishes I can confidently suggest them to others because all of our guests had nothing but compliments. 1. Hakka chilly fish(Talapia) 2. Chicken Manchurian 3. Lamb in oyster sauce 4. Nanking Vegetables in black bean sauce 5. Paneer Makhani 6. Chicken Tikka Masala 7. Kai chi 8. Achari chicken tikka 9. Vegetable spring roll 10. Hakka noodles vegetable 11. Zeera rice 12. Variety of naans 13. Gulab jamun 14. Rasmalai 15. Mango Mousse 16. Mango lassi

LOVE this location of Nanking. Their Asian Fusion food is so YUM. The service is always great and we’ve never had any delay in being seated. Try the Chicken Satay and Hot and Sour soup for appetizers. For entrée’s the Chicken Manchurian, General Tsao‘s Chicken and Szechwan Shrimp are a must order. The food is so mouthwatering and flavorful. For dessert we have only tried the Triple Chocolate Mousse Torte — which was AMAZING.

Generous 2 stars here. Overpriced for sure! Positive; they have 2 menus, one indian and one chinese so a lot of different people can eat here. Negatives; Be prepared, a lot! over staffed for a Monday night, only about 10 total people eating at here. Tried the Papaya salad, underwhelming dressing but nice presentation. Drums of Haven. no flavor to the chicken, over done but the sauce was maybe the only thing here that made my 1 star experience a 2. Spicy enough and worth a try I guess. Entrees: Had Szechuan Shrimp and Chicken with black bean sauce. Both come with rice. The sauces were basically identical so something is wrong here. The shrimp was cooked decent at least but the chicken was just chewy. Sauces and everything on the menu basically lacks SALT!!! No differences between sauces so I don’t know how they differentiate. Not worth a try in my opinion, maybe their catering and party atmosphere is better. You want Indian, go to Delhi 6 down the block. You want chinese, real chinese find a different place than this…
