The Club At Viniterra

Excellent experience. No signage anywhere provided serious confusion by this clueless driver. All facets of golf course is here. Greens and fairways pure. Ball sits up even in rough. Every hole unique. Clubhouse nonexistent. Staff excellent and friendly. Gave out hat free and almost too cheap. Very long especially par 4s. Played white tees mistake 6500yds. Great fun and fair. Play it!

This is a very difficult course. And I am not a very good golfer. So, while I enjoyed playing, this is not the course for hackers like me. The pro shop is a trailer — one of those permanent trailers. From what I gathered driving in, it looks like this area was trying real hard to be a community before the real estate bubble hit. You can see where a few homes were made, followed by roads to nowhere and abandoned lots. The golf course has a winery next door to it, so you can see they were hoping to make this a big deal. That never happened, but the upside is the golf course is here, and it’s different than any other I’ve played before. It’s very long, very hilly, and you do not want to walk here. The holes are very far apart and there’s a good chance you’ll get car sick driving between them — the roads are insanely curvy. This place has some of the biggest sand traps I have ever seen, and definitely the most numerous. Many holes are tricky, hilly, or major doglegs left or right. Many times you’re shooting blind because you can’t see the green. I really struggled here. I liked it well enough but I’d never go again.
