Solid BBQ for a fair price. It isn’t going to compete with BBQ from Texas, but the folks were real nice and took the time to explain menu options. BYOB is a great idea. Wish they had more Irish style cuisine, as the name would imply.

Been in New Lenox for years but never went to the Irish Pig. Finally went last night. The place was pretty empty and the staff looked bored(one table full and they didn’t seem to have any other orders at the time). I placed my order for the brisket sandwich, reuben, the buffalo special, regular fries, and cole slaw. The brisket sandwich was… OK. The sauce on it was fine. I wasn’t sure what the sandwich was missing but it was just OK. Now it wasn’t bad. So this is not a bad review of the sandwich. It just wasn’t special. I will say that having bought the«large» I would have guessed that it would have had more meat but that doesn’t mean it was a small sandwich. I just expected more. The family agreed that the fries were great. My wife said she enjoyed the reuben a lot. My son loved the buffalo sandwich(though we got the buffalo sauce on the side for him and he was happy for it as he thought it was spicy… though I thought the sauce was delicious). The coleslaw confused me. It wasn’t your typical coleslaw. I suspect a level of garlic that I am not use to getting in a coleslaw but I am not sure. Regardless, it was really good(my wife agreed). 4 stars? No, not based on my brisket sandwich, the coleslaw, and the fries alone… but…my wife only ate about half her reuben(it was huge) so I got to try it. WOW!!! Easily the best reuben I’ve ever had. A couple hours later I happily finished it up. Again… WOW. It was after I had the reuben that I realized what was wrong with the brisket sandwich. The reuben had think cuts of corned beef while the brisket was basically just really think lunch meat. I mean it was tasty but it was missing that texture you get with the thick cut. Had I ordered the reuben myself I am confident I probably would have gone with 5 stars but the brisket sandwich, while not bad, was not nearly as good as the reuben. Definitely going back.

Excellent Reuben’s! Better than Fox’s and very friendly staff. Good old fashioned Irish food

Recently moved into area and have been searching for good bbq — Happy to report that we’ve finally found it! We tried Irish Pig for the first time the other night and loved the food and our very kind and attentive waitress! My husband had the ribs and I had a pulled pork sandwich(both with great coleslaw) and we were impressed with the tenderness and flavor of both choices. Liked it so much that we ordered an extra pound of the pork to take home and enjoyed it for dinner the next night. We plan on becoming regulars and are excited to try other menu items which we hope will be just as good so we can upgrade this review to 5 stars…

This place is awesome! EVERYTHING right down to the pickles and chips that they serve complimentary! I had the brisket; no bun and it was fantastic. The star of the lunch though was my friends corned beef sandwich. So yummy!!! The sweet potato fries were really good too. And this place is BYOB!

We catered pulled pork and coleslaw for a large family reunion on Saturday. Delivery was as promised, the estimate of what we needed was spot on, and best of all the items we ordered were delicious. Thank you, Irish Pig, for saving me from all that food prep!

Wow is all I can say. It was tastey. Love the bbq sauce. Had the connollys special. 3 meats. 2 sides. Brisket top notch. Ribs very good as well as pulled pork. Beans were great. Coleslaw so so. Great service!

I was debating if I would write a review about a place I know so many of my friend enjoy, but I was totally let down when we went the other day. We tried to come here a few months ago, but we were rudly told they were closing early and practically pushed us out the door. We honestly didnt even want to eat here after that. Anyway, I guess I’ll start by saying, I really do like the flavor of the Cajun fries, but they were just too wet and borderline soggy. I ordered a ruben, which I realize from a BBQ place was silly, but my biggest complaint was the giant goo blobs of fat that I kept chewing on. It seriously ruined the whole sandwich. It seemed like the corned beef couldn’t possibly have had the fat cut off. I am gagging thinking about it. My boyfriend ordered pulled pork and he felt it was totally flavorless, which I guess may be a taste preference regarding the BBQ sauce, but he wasn’t happy and didn’t even finish it. His fries were also soaked, and he got a side order of mac and cheese, which he felt was just bland. We will not be going back. If you want a fantastic BBQ place, make a trip to Fire Water in Crest Hill. It’s totally worth the journey. They have been awesome every single time. Get the pulled pork fries!!!

Too bad they are sooo far away from home. I met a friend there for dinner, and had the combo plate. Everything was excellent! The meats were all tender and juicy, and the sides were amazing. I love a good Mac ‘n Cheese, and theirs didn’t disappoint. My friend had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and loved it. He travels around the country, and knows good BBQ. Staff was very friendly, and even though we stayed past closing, they didn’t bother us. We noticed they were closed, so we packed up and left, with a box of smoky goodness for later.

Got the small brisket sandwich special for $ 10. The brisket was chopped and so dry that it was difficult to eat, even after drenching it in bbq sauce to make it somewhat edible. I understand the price of brisket is up right now, but it’s still way overpriced for what you get. Not worth the money.

Pretty good pulled pork, but that is the only thing I’ve tried so far. Friendly staff, & nice little dining room too.

We have driven by here for YEARS … Finally decided to try it. Been back twice. Oh so good! Down to earth good BBQ and just plain nice people! It’s sorta smokey in here with poor ventilation. But just don’t wear nice clothes and sit down for some yummy BBQ. You have to get the garlic Cajun fries. So good!

You just will not find a better pulled pork or brisket anywhere. There’s nothing else to say about that. Get some extra sauce, warmed if you’re dining in. The sweet potato fries are so good so make sure you don’t forget about your sandwich! They’re thick and melt in your mouth and it’s hard to stop. I just love the staff too. I can’t go anywhere else when I’m in town.

No. I really wanted to like this. I just can’t. After a couple years of driving by my boyfriend picked up some BBQ from The Irish pig. I tried the pulled pork, brisket, and Mac –N– cheese. No. I was majorly let down by everything. The meats had ZERO flavor. It was almost as if the meat were prepared, and then sprayed off with a water hose removing the seasonings. The meat was so bland and watery tasting. The Mac –N– Cheese tasted like something from a box. I now know that I wasn’t missing anything, but you never know until you try. I know one thing though– The Irish Pig should’ve paid me to eat that meal. Until next time…

Do not mistake this for a bar b que spot. That was my mistake. I recently moved to the area and was in the mood for some bar b que so I tried it out. The ribs were tough, they were not well seasoned and they weren’t slathered in sauce… I are a fee bites and threw it away. I can’t speak for the other menu items but the ribs were not good at All… not sure how it go soo many stars… maybe you have to be Irish to appreciate it

Sorry Irish pig. I came here on hopes of finding good bbq. They had a pulled pork special and a brisket special. The pulled pork was dry as dry could be. They hardly put and sauce on either sandwich and they give you about a ketchup packet worth of sauce. The meat had a smoke taste but that was it. It sat in water as they picked it up from the pot. Lots of meat but dry and tasteless. I had their fries as a side. They were bitter. Very bitter. Too dark and not very appetizing. The brisket was a little better then the pork but ridiculous on the sauce just like the pork. Very dry meats. The Mac n cheese was like something out of the box. Both sandwiches with one side came to about 20 bucks. I can’t believe people like this. I wonder if they have changed or always been this bad.

If you are looking for some BBQ without leaving the New Lenox area. This is your place. For the past year or so I have been coming here on and off to get their brisket. Never dry and plenty of meat, ordering a Large Brisket will result in you being stuffed to the max. Don’t forget to try the frys as they have 5~ different styles to chose from. They have one of the best selections of pop in the area. At-least 25+ ice cold drinks to chose from.

Slap someone. Right now, you’ll thank me later. This is the best BBQ that I have had in the burbs in a long… ever. The meat is so tender and well smoked and the sauce is a nice flavor. THEPORTIONSAREHUGE. I couldn’t decide since it was my first time here so I got the fat kid special, it may have been called something else, but it was three meals and a snack for me. It was so damn good. I mean you will want to destroy something beautiful after you eat the ribs. Its such an amazing experience that you’ll want to kick a panda in the shins to make up for all the joy that just happened to you from a few mouthfuls. But if you want to get really inspired get the fries. Cajun-Garlic. They have other flavor options, but I wouldn’t know what they are or care. It was suggested to me to combo the garlic flavoring with the cajun flavoring. And BOOOOM. That’s it. Worlds ended, angels trumpeted, pants were in need of changing. I know what you’re thinking«but their fresh cut fries, those can’t be good.» And typically fine citizen you are correct, but lo and behold the holy grail of how not to screw things up… excitement abounds. Okay. I came back here with my brother, because he had to try some brisket. We sat inside at the stools, and ate our lunch. It wasn’t awkward at all like I thought it might be. The employees are so nice, and can talk about food all day with you. The woman behind the counter gave my brother some of the HOT bbq sauce I told him about. It is made with the ghost pepper(can’t remember the real name). He devoured the sauce, and talked with the woman about some of the ingredients in it. I had the reuben, which I read about in the local paper. I think this was the best reuben I have ever had. The corned beef was as tender as pot roast! It was like pulled corned beef instead of slices. I think it would be too tender to even stay in a slice form. My brother had the brisket sandwich, and was happy with it. He seemed to enjoy the garlic fries too, which I mentioned in the original review. If you get the reuben, I would try to eat it there. Wrapping the sandwich and driving home with it just doesn’t do the bread justice. I tried that one time too. It was still awesome though!
