Best lobster roll I’ve had in CT(and I’ve had a lot). Homemade rolls and delicious fresh lobster. Plus they serve Ashlawn Farm coffee and everything else is homemade. Very friendly and helpful service as well. Skip the others, come here!

Passed by with my wife and brother on the way to the Brazil vs. Peru match of the Copa América 2016 at Gillette Stadium. I wanted to have my brother(who was visiting from Spain) experience a feel for the New England scenery and seafood. We weren’t disappointed! We ordered both varieties of lobster roll(Connecticut = hot, Maine = cold), and split them into three. We also ordered the clam chowder, clam fritters and BBQ ribs. All the food was great! The lobster meat is tasty and experiencing the fritters was new to us but they did not depart from the good taste! The place is homely and not so busy in the early evening, providing an authentic and nice environment. The staff is very attentive specially the girl behind the counter.(Didn’t get her name but I assume it’s the Katie mentioned in the other comments.) She refilled our water and was attentive to our needs and compliments. Even for a short escapade from the bustle of Interstate 95 this place won’t disappoint you and feed you well!

Best lobster roll by far! It’s small and family owned, but you can sit inside or out, and bring a bottle of wine with you. Everyone is super friendly and everything on the menu is fresh and delicious!

We had breakfast outside. Once we all showed up, the service was good. Katie delivered our meals and refilled our drinks. Katie was very attentive to our needs during this busy Sunday breakfast. Everything was very good. My wife and I had the blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage. Others in our group of seven had, breakfast burritos, gyro wrap, French toast and the breakfast special. I will return to try the ribs one day this summer. I recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

Our first experience at Claw and Rib will not be our last! I’ve lived in New London a year and have been searching for the perfect fish and chips. Well I’ve finally found it! Large delicious portion of fresh cod In a super crispy and light batter with fresh cut fries! What more could you want? All for 10.50 a more than fair price.

The food here is literally the best I’ve had! and the service is great! Everyone is so nice, I recommend the Maine lobster roll(the best and first thing you should try) and the ribs are so amazing too! I come back from gales ferry for their food all the time because it’s worth it.

We went here on a cold April afternoon. The food was great, and they serve one of the best lobster rolls I’ve had! The service was fantastic and we loved the atmosphere at this family-run establishment. Our toddler felt right at home as well. We definitely recommend this to anyone in the area and will certainly be returning ourselves!

Located smack dab between Mitchell College and General Dynamics. Three of us for lunch, all JBCR virgins. One CT lobster roll, 1 Rueben and 1 Chicken Gyro, oh. and an order of Calamari. We loved our meals, thought the place was clean and the service was fine. We’ll be back often!

Nursing a post Halloween hangover with some great home cooked breakfast with local owners of Claw & Ribs in New London. Excellent corned beef hash, giant pancakes(that deserve its own zip code) &3 egg cheddar ham omelette. Great hometown vibe. Looking forward to coming back for the ribs soon. P. S. breakfast is served all day

Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised by the fish and chips. Large portion of fresh cod with excellent batter and tasty rustic fries with the skin on. I thought better than Captain Scott’s fish and Lenny and Joes Fishtail in Madison. Only drawback is lack of parking, but not a big deal for great food. 10 $ I seriously recommend giving them a try.

Excellent. Sides were ok. Lobster roll and barbecue sampler 5 stars. Chowder excellent. Just went back again. Not as good as the first time, the other people with me didn’t like it, complained a lot. I will give it another try based upon my first experience.

Everything is made from scratch! If you don’t come here, it’s not my fault. The food was absolutely indescribable! Delish doesn’t touch how excellent our meal was today. It was so good that we forgot to take pics of our Seafood Fest Lunch! Our lunch order was one 1⁄3 lb Connecticut Lobster Roll(served hot), one Maine Lobster Roll(served cold)…I’m sighing as I write this, so tasty(you just think you’ve had a real Lobster Roll, wait until you have one of these… one large clam chowder… oh, man that alone would ‘call to me’ to come back here… and we currently reside about 900 miles from here. The Clam Fritters… ohh, um, yes, you will love them. fresh lemon and homemade tarter sauce… My mouth is watering just writing about them. A Zuccini Muffin cut in half and laid on the chefs grill… hot deliciousness with a bit of crisp where it’s browned and did I mention a melted chocolate center on top… oh, yes, it’s delish. The brownie cake dish sat empty… next time? I don’t think you can order anything that is not excellent. Thanks guys! What a surprise!

Four stars for one of the best lobster rolls in the area. Tarragon aioli? Buttered brioche long roll? I’m in. Also note the large is HUGE. However the lobster bisque was average and a little *too* thick, and the potato salad was very bland. That said, you might need to add salt to the lobster roll as well. All in all, we will be back for the lobster rolls, not so much for the sides…

So let me tell you about James Brothers Claw & Rib. My goodness. My buddy’s boat didn’t start up, so we wasted a lot of time waiting for a boat mechanic to show up. My friend said he wanted a lobster roll, I had never had one so I followed suit. We ended up here, I ordered the largest roll. It’s a ½ pound of lobster in a roll. I hadn’t realized that. What came to my table was pure magic. It seemed as if it floated on air. It was amazing. The service was great, atmosphere was awesome and it changed my life.

This place is a great little spot. The Lobster Roll was one of the best I’ve had, and the ribs were also delicious. Dine inside the restaurant or enjoy the weather outside on the patio. This place is the epitome of coastal New England, beachside restaurants. Definitely worth a visit. On a personal note, I greatly appreciated the military discount that they offered. I don’t normally ask, and didn’t during my visit, but they recognized that I was in and offered me the discount. Thank you.

This place is awesome. The lobster roll is excellent, as are the ribs and pulled pork. They also have a few Greek specialties like the gyro, Greek omelette, and especially the breakfast gyro! I’m glad I live within walking distance.
