I was at a friend’s house and she ordered a take-out pizza from here — yuck — don’t bother, it was bad.

I’ve gone numerous times for take out. I’ve gotten the Sicilian and the cheese pizza. Both come with oregano on it and are very good. This place however is a total dive bar and I’ve always seen the majority of people sitting in the bar and not the actual restaurant side.

We ordered the onion soup and it was cream based. That was a pleasant surprise. We have never had that style, but it was very good. The squid dinner was good for landlocked region like NWCT. We liked the dishes and hope to return soon.

I have had only takeout not dined in. Got the calzone and pizza. I thought the pizza was very good… sauce had a sweetness to it which i’m a fan of and it had a good amount of cheese. The calzone was HUGE filled with lots of ricotta and mozz… the dipping sauce is very fresh. I’m a fan I can’t wait to try the dinners next

Our first time back here in 2 years. We were a regular for years, but relocated. We are back(actually near-by). We just had take away pizza today. Four different pies(large). They were made exactly like I remember. First and foremost, excellent dough and crust. Then good pizza sauce. If you understand good pizza(how to make) the key is simple, you have to be a good bread maker first, then the sauce has to be good. After those two, the rest are all just toppings. Yep, you heard it right here from Magoo! Repeat, just toppings that YOU control. I have read and don’t understand the several negative reviews on the pizza. Granted, it’s not Frank Pepe’s or Sals in New Haven, but if that’s the comparison, it is unfair. Those places have coal fired ovens. If not, maybe Dominos is for you. Good luck with that. Overall: Damn good pizza. I will get to the specialty dinners at a later date. Ciao~ Magoo

Revising my previous review, I’m back to enjoying their take-out pizza, and the Sicilian is excellent! Friendly service, but the ambience in the dining room remains strange.

Well we came here one night to eat in the dining room. first there was what looked like puke on the table cloth next to our table. Next we ordered and I must say the spaghetti and meatballs were terrible. Meatballs were rubbery and just no taste. Would not suggest. The wife had the spaghetti with Fra di Ovlo sauce which she said was fairly good. Our appetizer of stuffed mushrooms lets say I could only eat one as they were pretty strange in the stuffing and rubbery mushroom. The dining room is very outdated and is very dingy and needs a makeover. One thing i can say is that the Pizza is pretty good there. A little pricey. Not the best in town but its good pizza.

I’ve eaten from Coloseeo quite a few times and I am usually never let down. In terms of the pizzas they are usually very large for the price, very filling, and very tasty. The toppings and the cheese used are very good, however the sauce could use a little bit of improvement. Overall a great pizza for reasonable prices. The other foods they serve there such as grinders are excellent in regards to flavor, however they are quite expensive… I would only buy those once in a while due to the price. My only real complaint is the place closes down a bit too early, I believe it closes at 9PM.

Located along 202 is Il Colosseo. As you can see from the newspaper article on the wall, it has been here for over 20 years. They serve pizza and italian dishes. The pizza is filling, but very greasy and with low grade tomato sauce. And the prices are expensive, almost 10 bucks for a veal parm grinder. The main entrees are around $ 20.00. If you eat-in, it is a dive-bar and bare bones restaurant setting. It is clear that after all this time, profits here go in the owners bank accounts. They do not re-invest it into the business. If you want to pick up some so-so italian grub for lunch, this will do. However, this is the last place to take a date.

All we wanted was spaghetti and meatballs for my girlfriend and son, we got that and more. The dining room was practically empty, but there was a constant stream of people coming in for take-out. I asked our waitress if the clams & linguine with white sauce, or if the pasta carbonara was better. She suggested the clams/linguine and I was really happy with my choice. A very good garlic based sauce, plenty of chopped clams and two large, in-shell clams on the plate. The minestrone was not the best I’d ever had, but the salad was good and the dressing wonderful.(and served in a gravy boat) The complimentary bread was also very good. The spaghetti and meatball dinner was a winner too. The meatballs were huge and the sauce very flavorful. I’d recommend this place if near New Milford! We will be back when in the area.
