Awesome find! Always seeking out new dishes, today I ate Hogs Maw, a delightful blend of vegetables and sausage baked inside a hog’s stomach and then sliced like bread. Topped with gravy, all I can say is Yum! And at $ 7.95? What a great idea when antiqueing on Route 30!

Don’t bother. Better off going to the Burger King, McDonalds, or Turkey Hill nearby. Tried the pasta and seafood buffet. First, the only seafood was some imitation crab for the pasta. The pasta chef needs some work. Too much oil in the pan. Too much sauce. I dread later when the grease hits my lower bowels! The salad bar was anemic. The other hot food was barely edible. $ 13 apiece for this«food». Never again.

THIEVERY! What is $ 4.99 + $ 8.99 + $ 1.59? $ 15.57, right? Now apply the state sales tax rate of 6% to that total. By my calculations, it is 0.9342. I was charged .94 in tax. Now multiply that extra penny by 100 tables that turn at least 3 times a day, aaaannnnddd then multiply that by how many days are in a quarter(roughly 90). $ 270 if my conservative estimates are correct. More if they are not. In unreported income. Fraudulently collected. Guess what? MYMONEY is mine. Not yours. A penny saved is a penny earned. Couple that with the cash register girl with studded nose and raccoon eye makeup, who sneered at me when we walked in and proceeded to stare at me as I walked over to the hostess sign. No Good Morning, no How Are You? Then she calls out, just the two of you? Yes, dear, just the two of us, I replied. The hostess comes over and cash register girl says to her, it’s just the two of them. The hostess turns to me and says, Just the two of you? I repeat myself, yes, dear, just the two of us. Well, she says, I don’t have anyplace for you in here(as she beckons behind her to the main dining room), but I can put you over there or over there(hinterlands and hinterlands redux, respectively). I say, no problem, that will be just fine. She walks us to our seats and I proceed to get shoulder checked by one of the waitresses who is rushing by me. She doesn’t stop. Doesn’t say sorry, nothing. I apologize for clearly being in HER way and still she continues on. Really? Manners? Not here. The saving grace? The waitress we had was stellar. Timely, professional, polite, discreet, and a real pleasure. I would come back for her service, if nothing else. I left her a $ 5+ tip to show my appreciation. Food was ok. Typical buffet food. Nothing spectacular. I won’t be back. I can say that definitively. I would rather set fire to my money in my backyard while gnawing on sticks than patronize this place again. But that’s just me. Caveat emptor.

Disgusting food, had lasagna and the cheese turned and tasted horrible. Couldn’t even eat it, waitress said we had to pay regardless. I did pay. But will never go there again. I hope I don’t get sick. I did report them to health board. Stay away!

The food here was not great. I got chicken supreme soup and roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes and stuffing. There was a large piece of chicken in the soup that was almost all fat. The roast beef was also very fatty and tasted like lunch meat. The stuffing and mashed potatoes weren’t great either. And the gravy was mediocre at best. The only reason I gave this place a 2 is because the service was very good. I didn’t like the atmosphere either. There were no windows where we were sitting. It made the place feel dark and unfriendly. I won’t be eating here again.

They are lucky to get one star. I stopped going here because it always smells like the sewage is backing up. The food is blah. The staff is slow but friendly.

I’ve driven by this place a number of times coming to and from York The price is right, but the food was nothing to write home about. I had the chicken croquet, and they pretty much tasted like pot pie filling sans veggies, with a tasteless heavy gravy on top. I will say that the appetizer that my friend and I got was excellent, they were mushrooms stuffed with crab meat. This place would do fine in a pinch, especially if you’re looking for a cheap meal. But I’m not sure that I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Being from New Jersey I have high expectations for diners. Cross Keys Diner is a good solid diner experience. The staff was nice, the food was good. The table a bit wobbly and the spoons a little bit greasy. But a good experience overall. I would recommend it to a friend.

This is a much better breakfast place than a lunch/dinner place. Today they actually messed up a Caesar Salad. The Romaine lettuce was slightly wilted, there was barely any cheese at all, a few croutons, and the absolute worst dressing I have ever tasted. The whole dinner salad was smaller than their side salad. The one fortunate thing was the grilled chicken on top was good. I think alot depends on who is cooking in the kitchen as consistency is an issue.

Not only was the food mediocre, but there were ANTS crawling across our table. Our waitress was awesome and when we told her about it, she went to the manager or owner to let them know. I didn’t realize she was doing this, especially since we weren’t looking for free food, but rather just letting her know. However, her manager only allowed her to take our drinks off. No discount on the food since we didn’t finish it as we were pretty grossed out. To top it off, the manager was the one who checked us out and she was extremely rude! Won’t be going there again.

Diners aren’t usually vegan-friendly, and of course this one isn’t, but they went out of their way to accommodate me. The service was great, the waitstaff friendly, and my family really enjoyed the food, especially the cake.

Just a nice little diner on the corner. Great fries, friendly wait staff, also very accommodating to elderly people as I noticed of the people in line in front of us. Handicap accessible and suitable for all!

What time is it? It’s diner time! I had skipped breakfast today — other than a cup of coffee, a bottle of water, and a Cappuccino, I’d ingested nothing substantial — so it was time for a late lunch. I stopped at the Cross Keys Diner about 1:30 pm-ish or so. I think the lunch rush was over — there was only a couple of other customers in the place. I was seated and was thinking — even as I was walking in — that I had a hankering for some real diner-grade meat loaf. And Hallelujah! They had it on the menu! I ordered the meat loaf — you get a choice of two sides, I chose mashed potatoes and Lima beans, plus a glass of water. While I was waiting, one of the waitresses brought out a small plate with one of those pathetic, commercial grade rolls with a pat of butter. I ate it though while I was waiting, cuz I was hungry! The food then came out. I must say it was quite a plate of food(see the pix). Three large, thick, meaty slices of delectable, delicious, down-home meat loaf, with a thick, savory, manly gravy(Su and Lester would have been rubbing themselves down with the slices drenched in gravy :-)). The mashed potatoes are presented as a «scoop» of potatoes — probably with an ice cream scooper. The Lima beans were very tender. I added black pepper to everything, and a pinch of salt to the Lima beans. I was thinking it was a lot of food for lunch — but I devoured all of it. My waitress promptly refilled my water glass the one time it needed it. $ 8 and change for this filling lunch. I tipped my waitress $ 2.00.
