Two buddies and I drove from the Twin Cities to New Richmond to try out a new distillery. For $ 7 you get a cocktail(I got a rye Manhattan) and a tour with ten tastings. Our tour guide was the owner’s dad and super awesome. He told us about how much care they take in making their spirits. My favorite was their dill gin(Smelled like pickles) and their wheat whiskey. AMAZING. I bought some orangecello and a bottle of the wheat whiskey. Great tour and we were the only three on the tour. Highly recommended!

Fun afternoon! Bought this because I had a groupon, but would go without it. It’s a small place, but really easy to find. We took the hour or so tour, had our 10 tastings and a great time. We learned all about spirits we had never tried, before Aquavit and Orangecello, and bought a great bottle of my personal favorite lemoncello. There isn’t much room to sit at the bar, but either way a fun time to spend an afternoon!

I went on the tour last night with my wife. What a great date or outing. The tour was $ 7 and worth every penny. You get a free small glass and we tasted probably 10 different items. The gal who lead our tour was so knowledgeable. It was fun to learn the details of distilling. We left with 6 bottles because their spirits are amazing. Everyone in our group was having fun and so friendly. We’re definitely coming back and recommending this place to anyone who likes good liquor.

Definitely worth a stop. My daughter lives in Kentucky and is surrounded by Bourbon distillers. This place is on par with them. Plus everyone there is friendly(esp after a few samples) and they make Aquvit.

YES! This places makes like…11 or 12 amazing things.(That’s all of them). The tour is $ 5, is extremely brief, and then you get to try everything. You can also purchase a cocktail to sip on during the tour for $ 5-$ 7. So dang good. Their bourbon is super solid too, fyi.

I seem to be on a alcohol based reviewing binge today. But, I feel like I should send love to 45th Parallel. First, it’s local. The spirits are fermented from locally grown and processed grains. I’ve enjoyed the tour twice, which seems funny since the distillery is really a moderately sized warehouse. But, the tour is very personable with a lot of background on spirits and the distillery itself. The tasting room is also a great way to try out the different flavors like the very good limoncello. The makers are obviously very concerned about quality because you will learn about some of the misses along the way.

Went on the distillery tour with three friends. It was a fun way to spend a late afternoon! They were serving up cocktails before the tour, including Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, and martinis. It was fun to see the facility and learn about their locally-sourced ingredients, and how all the spirits are made. It’s great to see people who are passionate about what they do. We enjoyed getting to sample all the different things they make. We all bought at least one full-sized bottle of something we’re excited to dig into. :) I am super stoked about my Orangecello! It’s better than any other one I’ve ever tasted.

Stopped in yesterday for the noon tour… Cost was $ 5 for a tour and 10 spirits tastings. Our tour was given by Tom. Nice, informative guy! I’ve been on a plethora of brewery tours so this was nice to hear something a little different. I liked all the back story Tom gave us about where they were going to start the business, how much it cost, where they get the grains… All of it, fun to know random facts. After the tour we went into the tasting room where the polite Jade was pouring our samples. I would recommend this tour to anyone! It’s short and sweet. Cheers!

We went on the tour, and really enjoyed the«grain to glass» mentality of the distillery. We really liked both whiskeys, and the vodka was really smooth. We were also surprised by the dill aquavit!

«Grain to glass» is their motto and I have not found another distillery that does a better job of that. Their approach to distilling produces a very clean product. The 45th Parallel Vodka is the best I’ve had, and their new Border Bourbon is very good as well. Tour was great, tasting was even better. The staff is very friendly, and eager to allow you to try all their products. My only complaint is the location. I wish it were located in the Cities, but our laws here in Minnesota make that unfeasible. It’s a shame the Minneapolis owner was forced to locate his distillery in Wisconsin. Laws and fees in Minnesota are ridiculous. This thriving business could be located in St. Paul or Minneapolis. When are lawmakers going to realize that producing alcohol is not a reason to punish someone. It’s not like their making bathtub gin during prohibition. Keep up the good work 45th!

I’ve been here a few times, and their alcohol is constantly changing, and very very good. Vodka, Gin, Lemoncello, and a few other things. And now some bourbon? I need to head back asap.

We had an awesome tour and walked away with a couple of cases of Limoncello, Vodka and Gin. They really do put out a solid handmade product here.

A true artisan distillery making spirits from grain to glass. Got a tour when doing a biz profile and it was soooo interesting. Who knew — Most«distillers» purchase bulk ethanol from a few major distilleries from which they further distill, filter and call it «artisan.» That’s horsefeathers. This place is the real deal — they get the corn from a farmer down the road and do the mashing and fermenting and then the distilling and filtering. The owner has quite a vision and it comes out in the spirits. Its 45th Parallel Vodka is top shelf and smooth as silk – worth it all the way. Has won major awards and is dubbed«the whiskey drinker’s vodka.» Its Referent is a horseradish-infused vodka that is absolutely the best for Bloody Marys or straight. The company sources most of the ingredients like the horseradish, hops, grains locally as much as possible. It really does make for a top of the line product. They will be introducing a mid-shelf brand of spirits called Midwest soon. One to watch. A tasting room is to be coming soon along with an expansion, so they said. Available is Mn, Wi, Mich, Illi, Calif, Utah and some other states.
