Chicken Joes

I have been ordering from chicken joes every since high school which was next door. It’s a very popular spot especially for high school students and even after a lot of people go back because the food is so addicting!
I always order the high school special which is fried chicken nuggets or bits with French fries. Sounds simple but the seasoning they put in it is the best part and it’s so cheap and very very good. The high school special comes with a drink all for about 6 dollars. I also order the baby which is the smaller version of the high school special and it doesn’t come with a drink. The food is nice and crispy and doesn’t feel too greasy at all which is perfect.
The staff is very friendly and has the order done superrrrr fast! Plus Plus Plus! Just the last visit it was a little hectic because there was a huge order being made so there was slight attitude from a particular worker but all the other times I’ve been to chicken joes the service was excellent so I won’t let this time influence anything.
There is limited street parking it’s hard to find a spot but you can get lucky! Do not park in mcdonalds because you may get a ticket. Just an FYI.
Will definitely be back!

Quick tasty food, very greasy but the good kind of grease. The Chicken is real (unlike the McDonalds a few yards away). Every High-​school and Iona student has been here at least once. The restaurant’s popularity is definitely not unwarranted. The food here has always been consistent, and the price varies you could get a meal for five dollars or another for more than 20. Always get the Seasoning on anything you order!

I always get the high school special — chicken nuggets with fries and it’s just fabulous. The fries are crispy and warm with a delicious seasoning. The chicken nuggets are plump, juicy and tender. This place is great and highly recommended.

Little take-​out spot familiar to the college and high school kids attending school nearby and in need of a quick, filling snack. My boyfriend and I were in the area and just had to stop by, even though we were on our way to eat somewhere else. We saved it for later on that day and it didn’t disappoint, even at room temperature. Ordered the baby special with cones and the high school special with fries. The cones were so nice and buttery, I’ll have to get a bag of them on their own next time. I’ll also have to try their wraps, reminiscent of the «fat sandwiches» I have in Jersey.
Fast service and nice, hearty, fattening food. You can’t go wrong. Must get the seasoning!

They have the BEST ICED COFFEE EVER.
Ask them to add sugar (not syrup). The crunch really adds to it.

The best tasting chicken in the damn world is found right here at chicken joes. I’ve been eating here since high school and I can tell you ITS AMAZING! Prices have gone up since I was in school, but I think that is attributed to the economy more than anything. y favorite is the goddy with chili chese and a cones/​fries mix.

ABSOULTY HORRIBLE ! Greasy ! No taste. SALTY! Mac bites are nasty ! Fried chicken was Under seasoned. Good for a cheap eat for the high school and college. Students !

Good food, great prices. The baby and the chicken parm are my favs. Would definitely recommend especially if you need a quick bite.

Nicest people working there who let me try samples since it was my first time there! The potato comes are to die for and the corn fritters were great too! All fried food though, so if you’re trying to eat healthy– this is not the place!

Sweet, sweet memories of my high school days… coming here after school with friends in order to get a high school special. This place has not changed all that much since then, and I still enjoy the food (even though I cannot eat it as often as I did when I was younger). Nothing beats Chicken Joe’s! When you stop by, be sure to get an order of the cones with seasoning on them and honey mustard on the side. It is the best!

Absolutely delicious nuggets and seasoning. The chicken wraps (grilled) tend to be bland, but it depends which one you get i guess. I’ve tried two. The place is tiny and seems to be busy a lot, so calling in on your way might not be a bad idea. Overall, great staple for the NR area!

Chicken Joe’s is nothing short of absolute delicious-​ness. Heaven in a bag. I always order the High School Special (around 5 or 6 nuggets with a ton of fries). Their menu has changed (primarily their prices). This place used to be cheap. I’m talking — you could eat and get a drink for 4 or 5 bucks. Not anymore. You’ll have to spend $ 8, at least. But who cares? Still good stuff. Greasy, but good!
I went to Ursuline for high school and I always would drive here for the food! Ridiculous! What great memories!

I LOVE chicken joes. I’ve been coming here ever since freshman year at NRHS (2006). One of the few places in New Rochelle that are actually GOOD
i always get the double. It’s greasy but delicious lol.
BUT WE MISS RAMON

The trademark hangout of NRHS. It’s all apart of the nice fuzzy memory I had of High School. What’s even better is that the food is off the charts. The chicken is heavily seasoned with salty, spicy goodness, and the fries are deep-​fried heaven in a bag. This is the absolute worst food for your health, and thank God I only had it once. But that once was very magical of an experience. Chicken Joe’s is so good, it makes the McDonalds across the street look like a soup kitchen.

The chili is a little dangerous and greasy so eat at your own risk/​if you have a strong stomach. For high school kids/​undergrads on a beer diet it might work but otherwise I would stay away.
Other then that, cant go wrong with any of the specials, anything with cones and some of the melts.
Wish they stayed open later/​sundays.

Since I have a few family members who go to Iona, I’ve become well acquainted with the food in the area, and this ranks as my top choice. First of all, the guys in the kitchen are great – I was always entertained by them cracking jokes on the regular customers, and the customers giving it right back. Then, leaving the store with a bag full of french fries, chicken nuggets, and delicious spice, I could hardly wait to dive in and start eating. My favorite was the high school special, pour in honey mustard and ketchup, shake up the bag, and eat the resulting amazingness with a fork. SO GOOD.

It was dangerous living and attending college down the street from Chicken Joes. Those potato cones? That seasoning? Honestly, someone help my arteries. The damage cannot be undone, but it’s always worth it.
The best orders are a High School Special– ½ lb nuggets w/​fries & 1 can of soda for $ 6 or Slick Rick Special– ½ lb nuggets w/​cones & 1 can of soda for $ 8. Just get some combination of chicken and cones. You can get nuggets in ¼lb, ¾lb, or 1lb as well. Always ask for extra seasoning. I don’t know its ingredients, but it’s magical.
You can also get breakfast, wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, etc.
Try not to come here around 2:00 — 4:00 when kids are getting out of school at the High School across the street because it’s pure mayhem.
