Pizza ok; took 46 minutes to get to house which is nearby the restaurant but the crust was thin and not too much sauce or cheese(hate thin crust that is drowning) 3 for me means I would order from here again

I would like to start off by saying that this is my first Unilocal review, and my experience at this awful establishment last night inspired me to create an account and write this… I have lived in New Rochelle for many years and grew up just a few minutes away from the Quaker Ridge Shopping Center. I have picked up food from QRP a few times here and there, but ate from here consistently, as the food was nothing special. Last night, I picked up a cake from Carvel(in the same shopping center) for a party I was attending later on, and needed to get a quick dinner as well. Therefore, I decided to order two slices of pepperoni pizza from here. They didn’t have any pepperonis ready, but offered to make a pie for me. GREAT, I thought… After waiting the standard 6 – 8 minutes for the pizza to be cooked up, I went over to the cashier to pay. «That will be $ 10.29,» he said. WHAT?! I looked at the board to double-check his math, but there was no price listed for a slice of pepperoni. They had plain slices listed at $ 2.52(who knows where they came up with that price). So what you’re telling me is that it costs an extra FIVE dollars to add pepperoni to the two slices I bought!!! Insanity… Avoid this poor restaurant at all costs– go to DEANNAS, it’s right around the corner and is much, much better. As for the pizza, it was mediocre. Pizza is pizza– it is hard to screw up a couple of pepperoni slices. Despite that, I will be sure to NEVER go back to Quaker Ridge Pizza again.

We had been ordering from Quaker Ridge for years prior to moving away for a year. Just returned back into area and of course, ordered from QR — we missed the Grandma’s pie, their soups and salads. I was extremely disappointed the first time we ordered again and even more disappointed the second. The pizza was as thin as the cardboard box it came in. It was undercooked after I asked for it to be cooked well. The salad dressing was full of minced garlic — which made it UN-enjoyable. There is a fine line between how much fresh garlic people need to add into food. It’s a dominant ingredient and when it’s misused and overloaded, it takes away from the meal– I did not order a clove or garlic, I ordered a soup. I am not sure what happened to one of my favorites places to order from over the last year, but I am sad to say that this is off my list of places I will eat.

The first time I went in I had a sausage and pepper calzone… Boy was it good! The next few times I went in I had the various pizzas they offer… one with shrimp, one with chicken and several other different kinds. Everytime I left there feeling underwhelmed. The crust was always soft and soggy. The one exception was the slice of Grandma’s which was thin and crisp and delicious. That, and the calzones I would return for.

Love the pizza here, particularly some of the vegetarian offerings. So much better than the alternatives in the area, glad to see some great pizza in the area.

Since this Pizzeria has opened, it has easily jumped to my favorite pizzeria in New Rochelle hands down! It’s amazing to me how good this pizza is compared to it’s nearest competitor, Deanna’s. I’ve lived on this side of New Rochelle for the majority of my adult life to-date and have always been amazed at how bad Deanna’s was yet there was absolutely no competition in the area. I’ve gone to Quaker Ridge Pizzeria with my girlfriend and friends numerous times and we’ve never been unsatisfied. You can easily see the care they put into each pie just by looking at it. My favorite pie/slice is the Buffalo Chicken which is made with large pieces of chicken AND has blue cheese dressing and SLICES of celery right on the pizza! Most people would say that this is more of a Gourmet pizza shop and I can agree with that. Nonetheless, if you are in New Rochelle and looking for something more interesting then a plain slice, this is definitely the place to go.

Well this apparently is the first Unilocal review of this fairly new pizzeria in the Wykagyl neighborhood. Since this place has opened they have done quite a business and we have become regulars. Let me get the one bad thing out of the way first. No business is perfect, so here goes: their website STINKS. I mean guys, it’s a FREEBIE! It’s so bad that the ad at the top of the home page is for a Poppa Johns! Spend $ 10, get a godaddy domain and get a website from them, or from Microsoft Live or similar. The one you have is slow, has cheesy(yup) Italian music and hurts you. Ok, that’s done. The Pizza is really GOOD. And let’s face it, that is why you go out for pizza right? This is a small place, and it gets busy. There can be a line, and the few tables fill up. They do a big delivery service and the guys are running. The counter guys are always polite, no attitude here which is refreshing. Prices are fair. This is crispy thin crust pizza, my favorite. It’s healthier and I think it tastes better. They are always trying new combinations, which are put on the menu to see how they sell. I think that’s great; imagination in pizza making, who would have thought. They have a wide range of pizza, from the traditional to ‘designer.’ I love white pizza with shrimp and garlic. Make it crispy and I am in heaven. I have also had chicken with pesto and sundried tomato that was awesome. It’s different and its good. Some of their pizza is spicy: ask if you do not like spicy food! They also have a full range of salads and soups. I have not tried them, but from what I have seen they look good. Worth a try. So Quaker Ridge Pizza in New Rochelle is Post Modern Pizza with a 1990 website. Quirky but good and worth checking out.
