This Hang Gliding area is located on the slide Mt. road just before the slide Mt. parking lot at elevation 8200 feet. The landing zone is located in Washoe valley at elevation 5100 feet. This an excellent high altitude launch for experts pilots only. It has a great viewing area mostly in the spring and summertime for hang gliders and excellent spot for unlimited views of Washoe and Carson valleys. Plenty of parking in the slide Mt. parking lot with limited parking along the road. Check out the views and enjoy watching the hang gliders in your way to or from Lake Tahoe if you driving the Mt. Rose highway.
